I miss cartoon holiday specials too. They gave off this warm, happy, and joyous aesthetic that the holidays are supposed to give off and it made us feel like we were "spending time" with the characters we've grown to love. I used to dislike the stop motion Spongebbob Christmas special for the longest time, but I got older and found a new love for it. Also, Don't Be A Jerk! It's Christmas! is one of my favorite SpongeBob songs. There are many other holiday specials to go gaga over like the many Nick Jr/Noggin shows who gave us cute wholesome episodes, but we'd be here all day!❤🎄
Bringing back the nostaliga here heavily :D Also I can relate so hard being a chubby girl throughout the 2000's... it was a nightmare Also fun Holiday fact! Christmas wasn't originally considered a Christian holiday; it's actually a whole mixture of pegan winter traditions from the British Isles, Scandinavia, and Germany. Then a bunch of Churches got butthurt and they pretty much CLAIMED the holiday, and started spreading the story that Jesus was born in December instead of the Summer. So secular Christmas (Yule) is much closer to the OG holiday, than the gentrified Christian version.
Okay, but Sansa Clips were pretty great. Affordable MP3 players with a reasonably intuitive interface and some additional features many iPods didn’t have. I still have it, even though I lost my iPod somewhere years ago. Also, I was not allowed to what a bunch of shows on Cartoon Network. My parents thought it was too stupid and bad for me. My Dad also thought that about spongebob until he saw it and thought it was pretty funny. I do think there is something to the idea that series don’t last as long. I think the story telling is also getting more complex and the backlash against so called “filler” episodes that holiday episodes also don’t advance the story in the way that many viewers want now ( I love character and lore building episodes even if they aren’t plot focused). If you get maybe 2 seasons then these may feel like a “waste of time” to some.

DUDE I remember all of these! You are right in that SpongeBob is the GOAT of Christmas specials. One modern Christmas special that you forgot to mention (and I am saying this specifically because I am hyperfixated on it still) is "A Very Devil Christmas" from season three (season 1C) of The Cuphead Show! It's hilarious and it got me in a Christmas mood after having like the worst week of my life. aw hell yeah trying my best sweater
Gotta find a day off to just binge all these episodes and the movies tooo😭 images of the spongebob stop-motion christmas special like to float around my mind lmao gonna have to rewatch itt also hell yeah trying my best sweater
Also not exactly a xmas special or movie, but I do replay Bayonetta 2 around xmas, just because randomly they decided to explicitely set it around xmas, and Bayo and Jeanne just strutting the city streets like 2 rich yuri aunts on their way to deliver presents always gets in me the holiday spirit
The snort I let out seeing Chowder in those pjs was terrifying. Ohh i remember the adventure time special!! It was such a surprise and was so sweet to see how they changed in how they'd been treating him at the start, ugh my heart.
This is gonna sound kinda cliché but it's crazy that you don't have more subscribers! Edit: Oh also fun fact: Ed, Edd n Eddy was literally made because someone bet that the creator couldn't make a kids' show
