I think this is very interesting actually, because his frustrations began with him sitting at home with nothing to do. So for him to say, while he's at a festive party with his friends, that he wants to be home instead is interesting. I also do wonder if it's actually referring to Home itself and this is the start of some brainwashing or possession or whatever. I don't think it's capitalized though so it may not be this. I wonder if it goes beyond this and by "home" he actually meant the place he came from before he moved in. There so many interesting ways to read into that piece of dialogue.
I think he either wanted to go to his post office(or his and Frank's house if they are a couple at this point but hide it) or he wants to find out where he came from and go back to his home there.
@@Songal18 I'm not sure he wanted to go back to the post office. Home's eyes, the pea on a plate and Frank's face all blur together and the color saturation is a dark red..... I think this is the first time that a character notices that things aren't quite right, despite the holidays
It seems like Eddie had a derealization episode. One thing I am starting to notice with welcome home is that there appears to be a theme revolving around character's struggling with trauma and mental health (ex: Wally's feelings of isolation and loneliness around his peers, Sally's hypervigilance regarding a predatory presence stalking the neighborhood at night, Poppy's agoraphobia and fear of the outside world). Eddie clearly shows signs of having anxiety and depression (one of the toys representing Eddie is a "stretched-thin" stretchy doll), and it looks like it culminated into Eddie having a derealization episode where he didnt know where he was and reality seemed distorted. I have a terrible feeling that home represents childhood trauma (it stares down at Eddie like a massive monster), and that each of the characters represent adults coming to terms with trauma as children. I also wonder if the black substance represents this as well ( happy childhood memories poisoned by trauma).
The only merchandise Eddie has of him being a "stretched thin" doll is pretty ironic considering the meaning behind the phrase stretched thin is not having enough time or money to do what you want
It's weird to me that the notes on Wally's neighbourhood page say that he invented Homewarming...but he doesn't seem to like it very much, and he needed to be taught what it was about. It seems more to me like Home invented Homewarming and made Wally participate...
I feel like the 'Bumps in the Night' that Sally talks about could also represent like the camera crew or other people behind the camera walking through the set 🤔
34:17 YESS you understand. I feel like people misinterpret Wally being weird for him being like…evil. I think he loves his friends deeply and is scared and worried! A lot of the secrets on the old site, like the stay quiet one, come across more as warnings than threats imo. Sorry if this didn’t make sense, I just got excited lol
Frank also was most likely the one sending out the bugs in the previous update, so maybe Eddie was taken away as a sort of punishment because they cried for help. Just a hunch though.
If we’re going off the theory that home is targeting the queer characters specifically there’s a good chance that Frank will be the next victim as he is Eddies implied partner and would probably be the most suspicious of home after the events of homewarming.
That theory doesn't work because pretty much all the characters are queer. Poppy is confirmed trans and a lesbian, frank is non binary and gay, Julie is gender fluid (I think) and Wally is speculated to be aro/ace I believe.

I’m not sure if Eddie is actually going to disappear in the next update. Since Wally did say he was going to take a backseat Eddie is going to be in the spotlight until Clown switches it to another character. If Eddie DID disappear, everyone would still know he existed since Eddie’s role is to deliver mail and packages, Eddie might have too much of a good role to bump off. With the “Eddie’s eyes opened” theory, I think that might’ve happened. Wally can talk to us directly and break the fourth wall with no issue at all, maybe the armchair is the gate to the real world and the Welcome Home puppet show? And since Eddie sat in that chair, his eyes opened to the real world, maybe….he saw us. He saw someone who was not part of the cast and had a panic attack because his mind couldn’t handle it unlike Wally. (Sorry for rambling btw, I’m just really excited for Eddie taking the spotlight for a chance)
This is so similar to what I was thinking!! There's something about Home that would be the reason behind everything that happens. And with the As Above, So Below abyss underneath Home, that makes so much sense to me
Theory/speculation, Eddie was the first. If we’re going on the old theory of them all being h human’s being put into puppets(their new bodies around people working Toy Story style) and losing their memories of before, He was the first human to be put in, their guinea pig, but Wally has been the last. He was the creators perfect child. Their roles kept them unaware by never giving them time to think, time to remember, and once Eddie had nothing to do, he had time to relax. To think. That clip seemed like he had sat there thinking for hours, and we watched him in real time realize his old life. Staring at the pea, he wonders how or why this happened. Now that he’s aware, he can question things. So, the production team did what they needed- they cut him out.
It's eerie when you put it like that. Humans are somehow put into puppets, they loose their memories and are given daily tasks to do to keep them busy. But the minute they are left with nothing to do, their minds start to wonder off, and they start to think outside of the box.
I have a feeling that the next update will focus on Barnaby "breaking character" or having some sort of crisis that Eddie is having -the "it's a dog!" Recipe in the book is very odd, and it says it's "Barnaby b beagles favorite" -in the commercials, it's Barnaby who would glitch out, two times that it happens it's on the word "smooth" (idk what that could mean) -clown is releasing a Barnaby plushie, which makes sense considering his design is plushie friendly but could it be in preparation for something I mean they could save him for last since he is closest with Wally but from context clues he may be who we focus on next
Don't forget all the previous allusions from previous updates. Especially that upside-down blue person in the ground. I don't want it to be the case, but it seems to be heavily implied that Barnaby has a very dire fate and is most likely dead somehow. I didn't want it to be true but we just keep getting more and more to support that notion.

I've had a horrible theory for a while that Barnaby may have been the cause of the show shutting down. Its definitely been foreshadowed that something bad is going to happen to him, and there has been a repeated hint that Barnaby losses his head/his head falls off. I wonder if the reason why the show shut down was that Barnaby's head falls off during a live broadcast (that would traumatize children and possibly cause a scandle big enough to shut a children's show down).
Same! I feel like a lot of the times with horror media like these people forget about the real world mechanics and operations of things and just focus on the spooky stuff. It is a nice change of pace and makes sense!
Man, Eddie was going through it in this update. A detail I liked was when he was getting angry at the fact the neighbors weren’t giving him something to do. It kinda begs the question of what would’ve happened if he wasn’t invited to the party and stayed at his post office, maybe he would’ve continued to mentally deteriorate because he didn’t feel useful, or just because he was left out by everyone, thus leading to a downward spiral. Who knows! I just hope he doesn’t die in the next update

Poppy being next is an interesting and plausible thought. While I do think Barnaby is getting a lot lf focus and hints this time around, Poppy being absent and couped up in her house does make it easier for her to simply go MIA without the rest of the neighborhood really noticing. For Eddie being the first, there's like a lot of ways you could spin it. There's the meta narrative you theorized, but there's also the psychological aspect as well. Eddie was already struggling within the neighborhood, with being the butts of jokes or having mishaps left and right. He could've been the first simply because he was the most "disconnected" from the neighborhood and mentally in a bit more disarray than the others. So, Poppy being next works in both the meta and the more psychological aspects, as she's easily the most unstable resident left, isolating herself constantly and being very fearful and hesitant to do anything rash and bold. Another way to look at why Eddie was first is maybe purely by happenstance. He didn't know he was doing anything wrong by not celebrating Homewarming and maybe Home took that personally and Eddie is more like a warning to others who don't want to conform (which can also work on the queer narrative level). So maybe there isn't an actual specific reason he was first and there's no order at all. However, I do want to take a look at Barnaby and how he could potentially fit into this in the meta and psychological aspect. While on the surface you wouldn't suspect Barnaby is going through anything, i think the Hot Dog Recipes hint at there being something lying underneath the surface. I also think his habits are a common coping mechanism, like humor and using tobacco (an addictive and very harmful substance) to relieve stress. Piggybacking off of that and relating it to the meta narrative, what is a wise-cracking smoker who's a bit of a glutton teaching kids? His role is comedy, but a lot of others characters can be seen as funny or generally "fun" as well and have comedy associated with them. He doesn't actually bring anything relevant or essential to the show at all, and actively has bad habits yet isn't supposed to be some villain or antagonizing force. While it was more okay to smoke back then, I'm pretty sure it was still something children's television didn't want kids doing. Like, I only really recall The Flintstones having a positive smoking ad and nothing else. So I do think that Barnaby is still very likely regardless of the narrative we take om deciding who could possibly be next. I don't want it to be him but there's just so much going for it.
I took Eddies break down as him realising he was completely alone and questioning it. Hes a delivery man, as he says he should be getting orders, he should be seeing people, but he isnt. Especially during this 'holiday'. They havent called, messaged or contacted him in anyway. And he doesnt see any of them. Even when he supposedly walks from his place to Home. He sees no one. Then the plate with a single pea, a meal for a single 'guest'. Hes alone. How? He isnt usually. The neighbourhoods only so big. He's heard from no one, he's seen no one. He's all alone. With Home. This could also tie with him realising something is..off. maybe realising hes apart of a show as it goes from art to an actual puppet. Perhaps hes realising thats what he is. A puppet. With his strings still attached or not. Also its interesting thats theres a narration of him taking a seat inside Home. Why? It makes it seem like its an actual episode of the show somehow? Who else would narrating if it wasnt a voice over? He also says that he 'wants to go home'. Which is interesting because..what is home? His post office? The show? The neighbourhood? Home? Or perhaps its his friends, that he seems to be seperated from, that hes missing. I am curious where this goes, and your input makes my interest in the media fun. ❤
In the cookbook it does say that you can add more peas in the Single Pea in a Plate if there are more guests, but I suppose it was a pea just for Eddie... Who knows?
Your theory about Eddie's purpose as a mailman not being needed is really good! It ties in with the fact that since it's the holidays, everyone would be spending time with their loved ones. Since Eddie's soul purpose is to be the mailman in the show, he is supposed to be delivering mail to the neighbors, but like I said, everyone is busy spending time with each other. This leads to Eddie being frustrated, which leads to another question: Why didn't anyone care to inform Eddie about Homewarming? It would've been nice if someone told Eddie that everyone is setting up for Homewarming, so that way Eddie wouldn't be left in the dark. I saw another theory surrounding the last thing Eddie mumbled to himself: "I want to go home" or "I never go home" (something along the lines of that). To me, I am stirring closer to Eddie, saying he never goes home bc we don't know where he lives. He can't possibly live in the post office, so where does he go home to?
This reminds me of Sunny, a musical Spanish bird that was from Welcome Home's original concept. As the project got bigger, Sunny just didn't fit into the narrative. He just vanished and no one really ever questioned it. I remember seeing some old art on Clown's Tumblr which was basically him removing Sunny from Home.
If they all slowly disappear, im scared for when Barnaby gets written out. Barnaby is the closest to wally which makes me think that hes gonna be the last to go, but when he does i feel like somethings gonna snap in wally. I love your theory so much, but it also makes me so anxious to see what would happen if its true and what wally does when Barnaby gets written out.

if the single pea does represent saying goodbye, then its interesting that one dish literally has a single pea (eddie) incased in gelitin (franks signature dish). Could it represent frank not wantjng tk let go of/say goodbye to eddie?
My personal theory of all the mysterious stuff going on starts with me leaning on the idea that the folks of Home are real living beings like how the Muppets in The Muppets, Seseme Street, and My Friendly Neighborhood are meant to be living beings. Like, we hear the Restoration Team believe, *assume* , the show was a normal puppet show with puppeteers behind the scenes, but that might not be true at all. With that; I think the studio that produced Welcome Home might've been using occult practices to either spy on the Neighbors or create a little enclosed world where they could manipulate things. Either the magic is twisting into something bad or the world the Neighbors live in is transitioning into something very bad. Maybe it's like an even more broken version of the Trueman Show, and without the studio to intervine, some of the stuff the cast were used to experiencing has began cracking with nobody to push things the "right way" or keeping things peaceful.
personally I think W is just an alias. One of the website updators states their fav character is Wally and I believe they chose to use Wallys W as their alias but who knows!!!
I have a feeling that the next to disappear will be frank. Since he seems to be the only one concerned about Eddie, and the fact that he’s the smartest and might actually start questioning where he went, I think that makes him the prime target of who’s gonna disappear next. Not to mention that Eddie and frank seem to have somewhat of a thing for eachother in the art.
I cannot wait to think about the other names that would be uncovered. Like, think about it, the voice actors in the show (not the actual ones irl but the make believe ones that exist in this universe, voicing Wally, Sally, Eddie, etc.) would need to come out of the woodworks eventually, and it would be so interesting for them to get some sort of "Interview with the voice actor" for any of the characters and their experience. willlldddd

It makes so much sense, that they are going to write off Eddie in the show. Why we see him freaking out, it’s the actor in Eddie upset that they are making him leave the production. So this episode is supposed to be his final appearance. *That’s why in older shows whenever they wanna write off a character. They usually do it, in a holiday special that the person or the character; “has a dream to leave the town and travel or the character gets sick and leaves due to health issues.” Usually that the end of the character or they only mention through letter or a phone call ☎️ how they are doing.
I think Wally is the most innocent character but has very strong psychic abilities. He can foresee that something is off before the other neighbors but doesn't know how to process his emotions and communication skills and gets sidetracked and redirected easily due to his autism. So therefore,when Wally asks Barnaby in the "Homewarming" record "Why do I feel sad?" I don't think he's sad because he doesn't know how to celebrate "Homewarming", he's sad because somehow he senses someone in the neighborhood is no longer going to be around, and that person is Eddie.

I missed the stream, unfortunately, so this video is a great chance for me to catch up (also, it's great because I had finally decided to get into Welcome Home - yeah I'm late when I get into new fandoms).
Because of the "stretched too thin Eddie" toy, along with the fact that he is the hardest working neighbor, i just imagine that he finally had the time to just...sit and realize something is wrong. He usually has something to do, and that keeps him from thinking too deeply about things. But in the commercials? He was able to actually think, and take in the whole scenery... and this was when he realized something was wrong. When he was finally able to relax
It felt like maybe Eddies break down could have happened because of Wally's chair. (I know its stupid but here me out) From a few photos and drawings on the website of wally sitting in his chair, it perhaps is like a seat of a role. That wally is mostly allowed to sit in. And this is also with the fact that, he probably makes the calls in that chair.(Calling us on the phone and secret messages trying to contact the outside world, ect.) And perhaps what eddie was seeing, is what wally probably sees when on call or in the chair. So when home looked at him, maybe it seemed like home was telling eddie to call. See if the viewer or outside world is avaible. Or to get out of the chair, its wallys not eddies. Idk just a random thought.

had a thought, Julie supposedly hibernates through the winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) and only wakes up after (in march). in the "mistake" subheading of the news section states that they didnt realise that winter had passed and it was already March. what if the person writing the news section is connected to Julie in the same way the person in charge of the hidden website seems to be connected to Wally?
The more I think about Sally's backstory and her attitude, wanting to be on top of everything as a director and a star that used to be in the sky, maybe whoever she was before becoming a puppet was actually the one in charge of the creation or development of Welcome Home. Sally could've been the real creator instead of Ronald Dorelaine and whatever happened to her caused Ronald to take her place and take the credit. That, or they both were the producers and only Ronald's name was visible. This probably caused her to have this idea that she should be the one directing the puppets her way and wanting them to rise to fame because that's what she wanted as producer and is still trying to get that sense of control even in her current state.
I really appreciate these kind of videos as someone who has to be cautious with updates on stuff (some have flashing lights with no warnings, don’t need a seizure) and your voice is so calming
my theory is that the production was a cult. (I am going off of matpats theory a bit) I think Home is an entity, and the way they powered this thing (aka Home) was by making the show and then getting all this praise from its huge fanbase, which also could be why there are so many ads, to get more people interested. Spirit's feed off of energy, so it would make sense to make a show to feed something you're worshipping. I think the neighbors are like final sacrifices to home. (Also, mini theory! The neighbors were cult members and they did some kinda ritual to transfer their souls into the puppets, but the only catch was that their memories of their past in the cult were erased and the reason Eddie was randomly panicking is that he started to remember)
My theory is that the entity that only comes at night started taking to catch them one by one. big gardens of home and started to corrupt it. And started to pick them off one by one. Until only Wally was left.
I have a similar theory, But I theorize that home is the entity, and that Wally was the first victim. It's why we were able to stumble upon that one secret that looks like Wally bowing down to home while it stares in at him. Which is pretty reminiscent of Eddie sitting in that chair with his singular pea while home stairs in at him too. I also think it's why he seems unresponsive to Frank when he's calling his name. It's a little similar to how Wally kind of shuts down when he's spoken directly to. It's just I think Eddie is going through the first stages of that. The feeling of separation, before genuinely fading into it.
One kind of out-there theory I really like is the in-universe Welcome Home show doesn't actually exist. The "show" itself is like a Tulpa, or Thoughtform that, the more people believe it to be real, the more it manifests itself into reality. Wally's obsession with "seeing" you grows stronger due to people's fan art of him literally giving him eyes and willing him (and by proxy his home and friends) into existence. It seems Wally has achieved this "enlightement" of sorts, him now being a real entity in-universe that sends these envelopes and messages to the WHRP, and it seems Eddie might be up next for enlightenment. Kind of like the idea GT brought up that Frank is like an undercover plant/bug (hence his interests) to spy on and survey the anomaly
I love your theory on how the production was picking off characters and making the show seemingly worse before it stoped airing. It makes so much sense to me and is actually quite relevant to some media nowadays where they just keep milking things dry and changing things around all the time instead of leaving it be, ending up making things worse instead of better.
….home was threatening Eddie for breaking character, he’s suppose to be constantly happy but for a moment he showed genuine anger in one scene and for that home singled him out. That pea wasn’t just a ‘showstopper’ it was a warning

So what I've taken notice of is that the seat Eddie sat on is the same one Wally would always sit on, which may be the pathway into seeing the real world, us. This might be why Eddie had that 'out-of-world' experience. (Sorry if I'm wrong in any circumstances! I'm just putting the pieces together and see what it brings up.)
Personally, I think this is a FANTASTIC theory! But, I want to add somethign extra TO the theory. So, Welcome Home has been stated to include topics such as 'mental health', which is why I believe that this can be symbolic of Eddie's Mental Health. Eddie has the need to be useful, to be needed, so once he finally has nothing to do . . he feels useless, he hates not having to be needed, so he has a panic attack. And the imagery we see with Eddie, it could be a mix of an interpritation of a panic attack and the feeling of it, but also how Home is watching Eddie and knows that he is now aware that there is something HORRIBLY wrong in the Neighborhood.

I’m thinking that all of the puppets were somehow humans. They got transformed by home as in order to stay with him, like Amanda the Explorer with the cartoons for the kids shows. So, when the puppets have this mental breakdown is because the memories of their former human lives possibly is coming back and home being afraid of losing his puppets, is taking them away or destroying them for them to not speak up. 🤔

the website was actually created with neocities i am pretty sure! i know this as one of the main coders hired to recreate the website is a good friend of mine who got in clowns radar by making neocities websites to host reliable wh documentation. also, the additional site was actually made in secret to her as well, so she could not know what was going on with the extra lore (she did say shed get asked how to do certain coding but would not get told what for). i also imagine there was also a bit of a learning curve to utilize the new sites to recreate things, so they had to cut a few corners. anyway i really like this theory! its one of the few analysis i feel like truly gets what wh feels like for me too, focusing more on the meta aspect of the show, the idea of eddie getting got simply bc they had to cut corners as the show had the death hammer coming down. i always find ideas about wally being randomly evil out to get his neighbors, or even home itself doing so, to be quite boring. it definitely feels like a more meta existential threat, like oh. we are not safe just because we exist in a fictional dreamland. puppets get thrown around, scrapped. decay if left alone for years. maybe wally isnt trying to hurt anyone, just reaching out for help. i would also like to add that the commercials feel... excessive. as in, it feels as if the show could have maybe been selling out to anyone who would sponsor them, desperately trying to keep itself afloat. uhm... something else. yayyyy another poppy/sally shipper now thats a real one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like something that isnt being mentioned a lot is that, when Eddie sits down, he specifically sits in a chair that looks very similar to the chair that Wally sits in the "Have You Heard?" Picture [i think its in the first news post?]; while that could be purely coincidence and just a silly stage design prop i like to think about it
Home Warming Day (Welcome Home's Christmas), Eddie Dear was not really happy doing nothing during the Holiday and being watched sitting down on a chair with a pea on a plate inside of Home by Home.
I thought this update was going to have something to do with Eddie but I didn't think it'd be this 😭 my guess is that Frank added the bugs and that maybe he's Yhe Question-Answerer?? There's also the possibility that the question answer could be more than one person. Besides Eddie, Sally and Frank were featured together prominently in this update. Maybe they're working together since they both noticed something was wrong with Eddie before he (potentially) disappeared.
I also think that the possession theory that people were having before could be in reverse? Like the people working on the restoration project are sorta getting possessed by the puppets. W could be the person that Wally's speaking through (them hearing the ringing could be Wally trying to reach out. It's repeatedly mentioned that he can't see so maybe he only has partial control over them? Like he can't access all their senses) while Sally and Frank are communicating through The Question-Answer, either as two separate people or both of them controlling The Question-Answerer at the same time (maybe explaining the page you get to through the safe? Having two puppets possess them at once might be deteriorating their mental state quicker)

what if instead of eddie’s house disappearing, it starts molding or getting more dirty? like with each passing update, each neighbor disappearing, the uninhabited houses deteriorate. maybe eddie will be written out as “taking a vacation” or “relocated” . or maybe the “i want to go home” he said at the end could be referring to Home or eddie remembering where he came from (he’s a forgetful fella!) and moving away aka being written out
My poor boy Eddie was really going through it during this update. I really hope nothing bad happens to him! 😭 Also I will admit the ad for sleeping meds especially for Wally really creeped me the freak out. I know the show is from the late 60s - early 70s (hence why I wasn't super phased by the Barnaby commercial with the Hoopla cigarettes because the Flintstones did the same thing) but the fact that there was an ad for sleeping pills featuring a children's tv host really didn't sit right with me 😨
Posting another comment cause i have an idea of what happened to eddie I think eddie got his soul or whatever life he has sucked out of him by home and where that soul went saw what we saw the red, the nightmatishly liminal spaces, home An example of what i mean is the movie skinamarink and how the house in that movie kept shifting and changing thats what eddie experienced also lets not forget how welcome home was forgot It was destoryed every toy, every poster, every card literally everything was destroyed so it could be more then the producers got rid of eddie It could be that home got to eddie ans in our world his puppet started to rot it started to degrade and so they axed eddie as he was basically impossible to fix the puppet and maybe even make a new one where it was easier to forget he exsited then keep him In short home killed eddie and it caused his real world puppet to rot so the producers cut corners and tossed eddie out of the show
I like your theory that every neighbor we lose in the show ties into the decline of the show/production company issues in reality I can’t help but imagine the order in which we lose the neighbors would be counter-clockwise (Seeing how Eddie went first) That could mean that Poppy would go next (since it mentioned that her puppet was very big and how her description states that she doesn’t leave her house very often), and then Sally next (with her description mentioning how she required two or three puppeteers to operate due to the size of her head)

I believe its a book cover of Frank, it showed him with a butterfly sitting in the woods. Although I didnt find this out of the ordinary, what did catch me off guard was the view you were looking at him from (in the bushes). It could be just a design choice but sally mentioned something that watches the neighbors, low and behold theres an image of the perspective of whatever watching frank hidden in a bush.
The theory that Frank is the one trying to save his friends is very popular, so i have a theory that Julie is going to get roped in somehow by being Frank's best friend. Either in a good way (being able to help) or a bad way (Frank losing his best friend). Either way, im worried for them all T-T
AAAAH YES! I was expecting your video!! I hope you don't mind my lil theory, or more like "highlight" aa here it goes! You see, with the topic of looking at "reality" or being hyper aware of the "real world" the only other character, besides eddie, to be recorded the way he was in this update, was wally. First point of view or up view, realistic Fabric hand of each character, and they interact with a "real world surroundings" at least, for it looks real. My thoughts are that, if Both, wally and Eddie saw the real world, both of them reacted clearly different, i guess you could say wally reacted. And then, in the hidden videos, wally was brought to reality by calling his name. And eddie only could Come back when his name also was mentioned. I mean I'm pretty sure all of the characters will come to terms with seeing reality they like or not, and that triggers a response from each one. I mean just a curious though 🫰
I wonder if as characters are being shown as disconnected and we're getting those POV clips they join the restoration project in the real world? Like before we were only seeing one person run the project using the "I" pronoun and now all of a sudden when Eddie disappears suddenly it's "we"?

I like your meta theory about the puppets being taken out one by one. I think we are going to see the puppets break the fourth wall and slowly realize that they are not real in the sense of you or I. Frank at the end of the video seemed to have more insight than what we have been led to believe. Especially when he calls out to Eddie by his first name to get his attention.
The thing to remember is that Eddie sat there in that chair for quite awhile. It looks like and feels like that he was deep in thought and he recalled something

I think this is very interesting actually, because his frustrations began with him sitting at home with nothing to do. So for him to say, while he's at a festive party with his friends, that he wants to be home instead is interesting.
I also do wonder if it's actually referring to Home itself and this is the start of some brainwashing or possession or whatever. I don't think it's capitalized though so it may not be this.
I wonder if it goes beyond this and by "home" he actually meant the place he came from before he moved in.

It seems like Eddie had a derealization episode. One thing I am starting to notice with welcome home is that there appears to be a theme revolving around character's struggling with trauma and mental health (ex: Wally's feelings of isolation and loneliness around his peers, Sally's hypervigilance regarding a predatory presence stalking the neighborhood at night, Poppy's agoraphobia and fear of the outside world). Eddie clearly shows signs of having anxiety and depression (one of the toys representing Eddie is a "stretched-thin" stretchy doll), and it looks like it culminated into Eddie having a derealization episode where he didnt know where he was and reality seemed distorted. I have a terrible feeling that home represents childhood trauma (it stares down at Eddie like a massive monster), and that each of the characters represent adults coming to terms with trauma as children. I also wonder if the black substance represents this as well ( happy childhood memories poisoned by trauma).

If we’re going off the theory that home is targeting the queer characters specifically there’s a good chance that Frank will be the next victim as he is Eddies implied partner and would probably be the most suspicious of home after the events of homewarming.

That theory doesn't work because pretty much all the characters are queer. Poppy is confirmed trans and a lesbian, frank is non binary and gay, Julie is gender fluid (I think) and Wally is speculated to be aro/ace I believe.

I’m not sure if Eddie is actually going to disappear in the next update. Since Wally did say he was going to take a backseat Eddie is going to be in the spotlight until Clown switches it to another character. If Eddie DID disappear, everyone would still know he existed since Eddie’s role is to deliver mail and packages, Eddie might have too much of a good role to bump off. With the “Eddie’s eyes opened” theory, I think that might’ve happened. Wally can talk to us directly and break the fourth wall with no issue at all, maybe the armchair is the gate to the real world and the Welcome Home puppet show? And since Eddie sat in that chair, his eyes opened to the real world, maybe….he saw us. He saw someone who was not part of the cast and had a panic attack because his mind couldn’t handle it unlike Wally. (Sorry for rambling btw, I’m just really excited for Eddie taking the spotlight for a chance)

Theory/speculation, Eddie was the first.
If we’re going on the old theory of them all being h human’s being put into puppets(their new bodies around people working Toy Story style) and losing their memories of before, He was the first human to be put in, their guinea pig, but Wally has been the last. He was the creators perfect child.
Their roles kept them unaware by never giving them time to think, time to remember, and once Eddie had nothing to do, he had time to relax. To think.
That clip seemed like he had sat there thinking for hours, and we watched him in real time realize his old life. Staring at the pea, he wonders how or why this happened.
Now that he’s aware, he can question things. So, the production team did what they needed- they cut him out.
It's eerie when you put it like that. Humans are somehow put into puppets, they loose their memories and are given daily tasks to do to keep them busy. But the minute they are left with nothing to do, their minds start to wonder off, and they start to think outside of the box.

I've had a horrible theory for a while that Barnaby may have been the cause of the show shutting down. Its definitely been foreshadowed that something bad is going to happen to him, and there has been a repeated hint that Barnaby losses his head/his head falls off. I wonder if the reason why the show shut down was that Barnaby's head falls off during a live broadcast (that would traumatize children and possibly cause a scandle big enough to shut a children's show down).

Man, Eddie was going through it in this update. A detail I liked was when he was getting angry at the fact the neighbors weren’t giving him something to do. It kinda begs the question of what would’ve happened if he wasn’t invited to the party and stayed at his post office, maybe he would’ve continued to mentally deteriorate because he didn’t feel useful, or just because he was left out by everyone, thus leading to a downward spiral. Who knows! I just hope he doesn’t die in the next update

Poppy being next is an interesting and plausible thought. While I do think Barnaby is getting a lot lf focus and hints this time around, Poppy being absent and couped up in her house does make it easier for her to simply go MIA without the rest of the neighborhood really noticing.
For Eddie being the first, there's like a lot of ways you could spin it. There's the meta narrative you theorized, but there's also the psychological aspect as well. Eddie was already struggling within the neighborhood, with being the butts of jokes or having mishaps left and right. He could've been the first simply because he was the most "disconnected" from the neighborhood and mentally in a bit more disarray than the others. So, Poppy being next works in both the meta and the more psychological aspects, as she's easily the most unstable resident left, isolating herself constantly and being very fearful and hesitant to do anything rash and bold.
Another way to look at why Eddie was first is maybe purely by happenstance. He didn't know he was doing anything wrong by not celebrating Homewarming and maybe Home took that personally and Eddie is more like a warning to others who don't want to conform (which can also work on the queer narrative level). So maybe there isn't an actual specific reason he was first and there's no order at all.
However, I do want to take a look at Barnaby and how he could potentially fit into this in the meta and psychological aspect.
While on the surface you wouldn't suspect Barnaby is going through anything, i think the Hot Dog Recipes hint at there being something lying underneath the surface. I also think his habits are a common coping mechanism, like humor and using tobacco (an addictive and very harmful substance) to relieve stress. Piggybacking off of that and relating it to the meta narrative, what is a wise-cracking smoker who's a bit of a glutton teaching kids? His role is comedy, but a lot of others characters can be seen as funny or generally "fun" as well and have comedy associated with them. He doesn't actually bring anything relevant or essential to the show at all, and actively has bad habits yet isn't supposed to be some villain or antagonizing force. While it was more okay to smoke back then, I'm pretty sure it was still something children's television didn't want kids doing. Like, I only really recall The Flintstones having a positive smoking ad and nothing else.
So I do think that Barnaby is still very likely regardless of the narrative we take om deciding who could possibly be next. I don't want it to be him but there's just so much going for it.

I took Eddies break down as him realising he was completely alone and questioning it. Hes a delivery man, as he says he should be getting orders, he should be seeing people, but he isnt. Especially during this 'holiday'. They havent called, messaged or contacted him in anyway. And he doesnt see any of them. Even when he supposedly walks from his place to Home. He sees no one. Then the plate with a single pea, a meal for a single 'guest'. Hes alone. How? He isnt usually. The neighbourhoods only so big. He's heard from no one, he's seen no one. He's all alone. With Home.
This could also tie with him realising something is..off. maybe realising hes apart of a show as it goes from art to an actual puppet. Perhaps hes realising thats what he is. A puppet. With his strings still attached or not.
Also its interesting thats theres a narration of him taking a seat inside Home. Why? It makes it seem like its an actual episode of the show somehow? Who else would narrating if it wasnt a voice over?
He also says that he 'wants to go home'. Which is interesting because..what is home? His post office? The show? The neighbourhood? Home? Or perhaps its his friends, that he seems to be seperated from, that hes missing.
I am curious where this goes, and your input makes my interest in the media fun. ❤

Your theory about Eddie's purpose as a mailman not being needed is really good! It ties in with the fact that since it's the holidays, everyone would be spending time with their loved ones. Since Eddie's soul purpose is to be the mailman in the show, he is supposed to be delivering mail to the neighbors, but like I said, everyone is busy spending time with each other. This leads to Eddie being frustrated, which leads to another question: Why didn't anyone care to inform Eddie about Homewarming? It would've been nice if someone told Eddie that everyone is setting up for Homewarming, so that way Eddie wouldn't be left in the dark.
I saw another theory surrounding the last thing Eddie mumbled to himself: "I want to go home" or "I never go home" (something along the lines of that). To me, I am stirring closer to Eddie, saying he never goes home bc we don't know where he lives. He can't possibly live in the post office, so where does he go home to?

This reminds me of Sunny, a musical Spanish bird that was from Welcome Home's original concept. As the project got bigger, Sunny just didn't fit into the narrative. He just vanished and no one really ever questioned it. I remember seeing some old art on Clown's Tumblr which was basically him removing Sunny from Home.

My personal theory of all the mysterious stuff going on starts with me leaning on the idea that the folks of Home are real living beings like how the Muppets in The Muppets, Seseme Street, and My Friendly Neighborhood are meant to be living beings.
Like, we hear the Restoration Team believe, *assume* , the show was a normal puppet show with puppeteers behind the scenes, but that might not be true at all.
With that; I think the studio that produced Welcome Home might've been using occult practices to either spy on the Neighbors or create a little enclosed world where they could manipulate things.
Either the magic is twisting into something bad or the world the Neighbors live in is transitioning into something very bad.
Maybe it's like an even more broken version of the Trueman Show, and without the studio to intervine, some of the stuff the cast were used to experiencing has began cracking with nobody to push things the "right way" or keeping things peaceful.

It makes so much sense, that they are going to write off Eddie in the show. Why we see him freaking out, it’s the actor in Eddie upset that they are making him leave the production. So this episode is supposed to be his final appearance. *That’s why in older shows whenever they wanna write off a character. They usually do it, in a holiday special that the person or the character; “has a dream to leave the town and travel or the character gets sick and leaves due to health issues.” Usually that the end of the character or they only mention through letter or a phone call ☎️ how they are doing.

I think Wally is the most innocent character but has very strong psychic abilities. He can foresee that something is off before the other neighbors but doesn't know how to process his emotions and communication skills and gets sidetracked and redirected easily due to his autism.
So therefore,when Wally asks Barnaby in the "Homewarming" record "Why do I feel sad?" I don't think he's sad because he doesn't know how to celebrate "Homewarming", he's sad because somehow he senses someone in the neighborhood is no longer going to be around, and that person is Eddie.

From a few photos and drawings on the website of wally sitting in his chair, it perhaps is like a seat of a role. That wally is mostly allowed to sit in. And this is also with the fact that, he probably makes the calls in that chair.(Calling us on the phone and secret messages trying to contact the outside world, ect.) And perhaps what eddie was seeing, is what wally probably sees when on call or in the chair.
So when home looked at him, maybe it seemed like home was telling eddie to call. See if the viewer or outside world is avaible. Or to get out of the chair, its wallys not eddies.

had a thought, Julie supposedly hibernates through the winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) and only wakes up after (in march). in the "mistake" subheading of the news section states that they didnt realise that winter had passed and it was already March. what if the person writing the news section is connected to Julie in the same way the person in charge of the hidden website seems to be connected to Wally?

The more I think about Sally's backstory and her attitude, wanting to be on top of everything as a director and a star that used to be in the sky, maybe whoever she was before becoming a puppet was actually the one in charge of the creation or development of Welcome Home. Sally could've been the real creator instead of Ronald Dorelaine and whatever happened to her caused Ronald to take her place and take the credit. That, or they both were the producers and only Ronald's name was visible. This probably caused her to have this idea that she should be the one directing the puppets her way and wanting them to rise to fame because that's what she wanted as producer and is still trying to get that sense of control even in her current state.

my theory is that the production was a cult. (I am going off of matpats theory a bit) I think Home is an entity, and the way they powered this thing (aka Home) was by making the show and then getting all this praise from its huge fanbase, which also could be why there are so many ads, to get more people interested. Spirit's feed off of energy, so it would make sense to make a show to feed something you're worshipping. I think the neighbors are like final sacrifices to home. (Also, mini theory! The neighbors were cult members and they did some kinda ritual to transfer their souls into the puppets, but the only catch was that their memories of their past in the cult were erased and the reason Eddie was randomly panicking is that he started to remember)

I have a similar theory, But I theorize that home is the entity, and that Wally was the first victim. It's why we were able to stumble upon that one secret that looks like Wally bowing down to home while it stares in at him. Which is pretty reminiscent of Eddie sitting in that chair with his singular pea while home stairs in at him too. I also think it's why he seems unresponsive to Frank when he's calling his name. It's a little similar to how Wally kind of shuts down when he's spoken directly to. It's just I think Eddie is going through the first stages of that. The feeling of separation, before genuinely fading into it.

One kind of out-there theory I really like is the in-universe Welcome Home show doesn't actually exist. The "show" itself is like a Tulpa, or Thoughtform that, the more people believe it to be real, the more it manifests itself into reality. Wally's obsession with "seeing" you grows stronger due to people's fan art of him literally giving him eyes and willing him (and by proxy his home and friends) into existence. It seems Wally has achieved this "enlightement" of sorts, him now being a real entity in-universe that sends these envelopes and messages to the WHRP, and it seems Eddie might be up next for enlightenment. Kind of like the idea GT brought up that Frank is like an undercover plant/bug (hence his interests) to spy on and survey the anomaly

So what I've taken notice of is that the seat Eddie sat on is the same one Wally would always sit on, which may be the pathway into seeing the real world, us. This might be why Eddie had that 'out-of-world' experience. (Sorry if I'm wrong in any circumstances! I'm just putting the pieces together and see what it brings up.)

Personally, I think this is a FANTASTIC theory! But, I want to add somethign extra TO the theory. So, Welcome Home has been stated to include topics such as 'mental health', which is why I believe that this can be symbolic of Eddie's Mental Health. Eddie has the need to be useful, to be needed, so once he finally has nothing to do . . he feels useless, he hates not having to be needed, so he has a panic attack. And the imagery we see with Eddie, it could be a mix of an interpritation of a panic attack and the feeling of it, but also how Home is watching Eddie and knows that he is now aware that there is something HORRIBLY wrong in the Neighborhood.

I’m thinking that all of the puppets were somehow humans. They got transformed by home as in order to stay with him, like Amanda the Explorer with the cartoons for the kids shows. So, when the puppets have this mental breakdown is because the memories of their former human lives possibly is coming back and home being afraid of losing his puppets, is taking them away or destroying them for them to not speak up. 🤔

the website was actually created with neocities i am pretty sure! i know this as one of the main coders hired to recreate the website is a good friend of mine who got in clowns radar by making neocities websites to host reliable wh documentation. also, the additional site was actually made in secret to her as well, so she could not know what was going on with the extra lore (she did say shed get asked how to do certain coding but would not get told what for). i also imagine there was also a bit of a learning curve to utilize the new sites to recreate things, so they had to cut a few corners.
anyway i really like this theory! its one of the few analysis i feel like truly gets what wh feels like for me too, focusing more on the meta aspect of the show, the idea of eddie getting got simply bc they had to cut corners as the show had the death hammer coming down. i always find ideas about wally being randomly evil out to get his neighbors, or even home itself doing so, to be quite boring. it definitely feels like a more meta existential threat, like oh. we are not safe just because we exist in a fictional dreamland. puppets get thrown around, scrapped. decay if left alone for years. maybe wally isnt trying to hurt anyone, just reaching out for help.
i would also like to add that the commercials feel... excessive. as in, it feels as if the show could have maybe been selling out to anyone who would sponsor them, desperately trying to keep itself afloat.

I thought this update was going to have something to do with Eddie but I didn't think it'd be this 😭 my guess is that Frank added the bugs and that maybe he's Yhe Question-Answerer?? There's also the possibility that the question answer could be more than one person. Besides Eddie, Sally and Frank were featured together prominently in this update. Maybe they're working together since they both noticed something was wrong with Eddie before he (potentially) disappeared.
I also think that the possession theory that people were having before could be in reverse? Like the people working on the restoration project are sorta getting possessed by the puppets. W could be the person that Wally's speaking through (them hearing the ringing could be Wally trying to reach out. It's repeatedly mentioned that he can't see so maybe he only has partial control over them? Like he can't access all their senses) while Sally and Frank are communicating through The Question-Answer, either as two separate people or both of them controlling The Question-Answerer at the same time (maybe explaining the page you get to through the safe? Having two puppets possess them at once might be deteriorating their mental state quicker)

Also I will admit the ad for sleeping meds especially for Wally really creeped me the freak out. I know the show is from the late 60s - early 70s (hence why I wasn't super phased by the Barnaby commercial with the Hoopla cigarettes because the Flintstones did the same thing) but the fact that there was an ad for sleeping pills featuring a children's tv host really didn't sit right with me 😨

It was destoryed every toy, every poster, every card literally everything was destroyed so it could be more then the producers got rid of eddie
It could be that home got to eddie ans in our world his puppet started to rot it started to degrade and so they axed eddie as he was basically impossible to fix the puppet and maybe even make a new one where it was easier to forget he exsited then keep him
In short home killed eddie and it caused his real world puppet to rot so the producers cut corners and tossed eddie out of the show

This audio of sally talking about the mysterious being struck a cord with me in the new update. I believe its a book cover of Frank, it showed him with a butterfly sitting in the woods. Although I didnt find this out of the ordinary, what did catch me off guard was the view you were looking at him from (in the bushes).
It could be just a design choice but sally mentioned something that watches the neighbors, low and behold theres an image of the perspective of whatever watching frank hidden in a bush.

You see, with the topic of looking at "reality" or being hyper aware of the "real world" the only other character, besides eddie, to be recorded the way he was in this update, was wally. First point of view or up view, realistic Fabric hand of each character, and they interact with a "real world surroundings" at least, for it looks real. My thoughts are that, if Both, wally and Eddie saw the real world, both of them reacted clearly different, i guess you could say wally reacted. And then, in the hidden videos, wally was brought to reality by calling his name. And eddie only could Come back when his name also was mentioned. I mean I'm pretty sure all of the characters will come to terms with seeing reality they like or not, and that triggers a response from each one. I mean just a curious though 🫰
