    Hertz offset being more impact full makes sense because the differences in hertz between lower notes is smaller than in higher ranges and this offset doesnt seem to account for it

      No problem! It’s great having a machine that can get at pure square waves and pwm. It’s does way more (obviously), but that capability adds a lot to the overall sonic palette IMO.

      Sounds great! I had some issues with notes dropping out when I connected a Yamaha reface though midi channel 1 and just wondered how the voices settings work with midi? I guess should read the manual!😂

    Great overview and explanations Gino - you're in your element here! I'm new to Elektron and would be interested in your overview of the E sequencer, which I'm under the impression has a bit of a learning curve. Cheers

      Thanks! That’s a good idea for a video as there are a few core things which are easy to learn, and then tons of little things that take a long time to master.

    If you want more LFOs per track, i think you can plug the MIDI out directly into the MIDI in, and use the MIDI LFOs from one (or more) MIDI tracks on the the Wavetone track. Not 100% sure about that, but stuff like that works on the Mk1 versions. Very groovy video Mr Gino. Thanks!

      Thanks! Also when we get Overbridge support, you can automate lots of stuff with the DAW (esp Bitwig)

    Was this recorded in mono? I can't tell even when you added chorus, delay and reverb if this felt particularly wide. I guess it at least wasn't a ping pong delay? Helpful walkthrough regardless!

    • @ginoco
      @ginoco  2 месяца назад +3

      Yes it was, by mistake! I accidentally had the mono switch on in OBS. All future videos will be in glorious stereo :). The only good news is that I learned that mono works great on phones and smaller speakers.

I got real high hopes on what theyre able to do with the fm drum part. was going to pick up a nord drum but it looks like im going to have my hand forced in upgrading to the digitone 2. ill be looking forward to your video covering the fm drum whenever u decide to do that. thanks for all the info

    Thanks Gino! These walkthroughs are great. It sounds like the Wavetone engine can cover the same ground as many other virtual analog hardware polysynths. How does the sound compare with something like a Novation Peak, Hydrasynth, Cobalt etc? I am looking for an 8 or 16 voice polysynth to add to my setup for pads and classic polysynth sounds, right now the Peak is the lead contender but I’m now wondering if the Digitone 2 would be an alternative option. And obviously the Digitone 2 can do many other things that the Peak cannot and in a much smaller box (I have limited space). Is this thing good for classic Prophet/Oberheim/Juno ‘warm pad’ sounds (within reason… not looking for exact replica)?

    • @ginoco
      @ginoco  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks! That’s a great question, and I’m not 100% sure as the mod routing is different on Elektron’s boxes vs more traditional synths. The DN2 certainly has the chops to make complex voices, pads, and VA but you have to approach it by getting good with their LFOs, and layering tracks. That said, it is a very powerful synth and this is only 1.0, so overall it’s worth a shot. Anytime I’m considering a new setup, I always try to get my hands on the “new thing” because that’s the only way to find out. If it doesn’t work, you can always return or sell and you get to explore the “new thing” :)

    One question, can you load all your projects/sounds from DT1 to DT2 without any problem?

    • @ginoco
      @ginoco  2 месяца назад

      Thanks! Yes, you just need a computer and Elektrons free Transfer software. The DN2 can import DN1 projects.

    Hey nice video thank you!
    Really gives good insight.
    I am just thinking …
    It has 2 OSC but you play 3 notes, do you maybe know how the digitone II is doing that?
    So it will probably use 3 voices of its 16 and double on OSC? But on one track? Or does it split it?
    Would be happy if someone could explain to me. :)

    • @ginoco
      @ginoco  2 месяца назад +2

      Sure happy to explain that. Each machine uses 1 voice per note. So even if it uses multiple oscillators, it still uses a single voice per note. 3 notes would be 3 voices. Not sure if you saw it, but I did a video on voice setup yesterday: ruclips.net/video/VXPPyDCb4UU/видео.html

    • @leo.nard2727
      @leo.nard2727 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ginoco ok I understand. Also the voice setup video helped a bit. Thank you!
      This machine is quite a killer for the analog four I think.
      Another question if I may: is it possible to sequence 3 notes on one step.

    • @ginoco
      @ginoco  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, each step or “trig” can have up to 16 notes in it. This is for both audio and midi tracks. And yes 16 is a lot :)
