- While at the NAB show (basically a broadcaster trade show) I spited the Ford booth which was showing off their new 2019 Transit van.
This generation of cargo van has been a round a few years but now it will have options people have been asking for since day one.

The 3.2 diesel is the same engine they use in the Rangers world wide. Wish we had that option here as well. This is a very nice addition for family vacations and tradesmen with the option for a diesel power awd! Bye bye Sienna!
Okay I listen to this video and they telling the truth because I owned 2017 Ford Transit 3.5 EcoBoost gas engine and I drive my van 300000 miles on 3 years I do delivery Atlanta tennessee-chattanooga 5 days a week it gives me great gas mileage it's running and drives like you bought it yesterday thank you Ford family
Good video .. I liked seeing one of these Van's before a build . Very cool
Sweet ride, great for camping too!
Kicking myself and laughing at the same time. I walked RIGHT BY these at NAB thinking to myself that it would be a GREAT engineering vehicle if only they came in AWD in the US... If only I'd stopped to smell the roses. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching
I've got one of these as a work van. Its the medium roof size, same size as the one you show and I love being able to stand up in it. Its got plenty of room for everything we need and its great to work out of, its like a portable shop but it has the most awkward driving position. The steering wheel is nearly vertical and it is very hard to get comfortable driving it, very awkward feeling. We use the small pockets on the doors for access control cards and I.D cards.
The steering sounds like a school bus setup.
I think they are a great option and I would pick the turbo diesel motor. Years and years ago I saw a guy with this style of van and he had it loaded up with all his sports equipment, skis, surf boards and such. He also had a fold out cot to sleep on. So there is so much potential with these I could own one for sure.
I’m in the market for one right now. I’m excited
It's about time they made a family vehicle like this, thanks for sharing
Yes, really cool ... thanks for the vid
i was like 659, dam mix , some show you get hit some show you dont, just please keep bringing all those show , those of us cant go to , cheers man
I wish more people would leave a like after they watch but some videos they just dont. I am still having fun going to these shows.
I have a 2017 3.5 EcoBoost transit low roof 8 passenger. It's an awesome van. I seriously looking at the diesel option in a medium roof as my next one. Just to bad cant get it as a manual transmission like in Europe
Perfect for rving
Diesel turbocharger spins a lot less rpm than on a gas engine. But I think turbos are all pretty good today.
I would choose the short wheelbase medium roof AWD diesel crew van. For work and family... it’s high on my list for next vehicle. Or in a completely different direction the Rivian truck... plenty of time to decide. Thanks for the video.
They won't be offering diesel AWD. Only the gas engines are available with AWD for the 2020 model.
I love it
The reason the turbos in diesels last longer with less issues than turbos in gas engines is because the gas engines run at higher RPMS. Twin turbos will increase maintenance costs. Bottom line is less is better.
There is no need for twin turbos.
And we want them because they look so much nicer too
Good for picking up palettes of soda and beer from Sam’s. For store owners.
I like the idea of all wheel drive but I heard it will keep the same riding height. I was hoping for a little more ground clearance with the AWD option.
Good video bro
Toyota should make one
Ford Transit is the best I do my delivery saved on time
Nice van
❤ford transit ❤van camping.
The "new" 2020 vans from ford has a 10 speed automatic transmission on all the engine options! The 5 cylinder diesel option will be replaced with a more powerful 4 cylinder diesel engine...
I guess more power from a smaller engine means either higher compression or higher rpm and probably shorter life.
I vote get the van and build it out. It would be good video content.
great idea, turn it into a great hunting unit, some footage in WY, ID and MT...would love to see him colab with Hushin.
Like it. 👍
Great review. I was working at this booth and am featured in this video. This was the prototype version of the 2020 model. I work for Galpin Ford in Los Angeles, #1 volume Ford dealership in the World for 29 years in a row. If anyone is interested in these, we just started taking orders!! Message me for details 😁
ptownbrown how do I get a hold of you?
@@wdsracer email me @ nauen@galpin.com or I can be reached at (818) 756-2312
ptownbrown does the 4x4 version come in gasoline?
Your graphics for the new engines were outdated. You showed the 2019 engine options. The 2020 engines are quite different. (2.0L "bi-turbo" diesel Four, 3.5 gas V6, and 3.5 twin-turbo V6; all engines come with Ford F-150's ten-speed automatic).
Don Mixflip, that moustache looks very proper.
Lol I think I'm shaving it this weekend.
@@mixflip rock it brother, it looks good
Great presentation kabayan.
Diesel engines must be built tougher to take higher compression to ignite ,a turbo is a must to have higher range of usable power,
Turbo on gasoline engines is a choice to get all the hp out of the smallest engine
I think I'm getting one😅...thanks
The AWD version is for Van Conversion Companies. And these things will sell like hot cakes. But the price goes from base sticker of $37,000.00 After Conversion. They will be in the low $80k to high $120,000.00 for upscale versions...
Nice. Greetings from Slovenia
Greetings from Las Vegas
I have a 2020 ford ranger wildtrak 😎
What is the price point?
When are they going to sell this in the Philippines? We need an AWD or 4x4 Passenger Van...
Forced induction will always cause more maintenance issues in the long-term.
Ordered Nov 7 and can’t even get a build date yet?’ Come on Ford!
@5:55 that little pocket is for cigarettes. Once you put them in and close the door their locked away from torturing your crew (cab). I keep my storage locker key there.
This is great! I'm curious as to how much extra for the AWD option?
Desert Rat I think the 2020 is going to be AWD standard on all models. But not 4WD. You can go to a 3rd party for a 4X4 if you like.
Plenty of potential... can be made into a nice rv... price?
I wonder that the dimensions of the cargovan (inside), thanks
The engine that never made it. Then 4 cylinder diesel
Me want . And it’s a ford ... ( I’m a GM fan hardcore )
Is the diesel Engine for the van a 2.0 or 3.2 L ?
Twin turbo 2.0 with more hp and torque
@@joeframer9642 More then the 3.2 diesel ?
I thought Ford was going to get rid of that stupid emergency brake. It prevents the drivers seat from becoming a swivel seat. They could have put in an ebrake just like the Ford Edge has had for a few years.
Scott Tea I just ordered one with swivel seats, and it moves the parking brake to the left foot. Oddly enough, I got the trailer brake controller, which requires the large center console, yet I was able to get swivel seats and a center console. I’m very curious how that works; if you’ll have to lift your legs to your chest to swivel.
That cut out in door is cut out so door doesn’t mash your drink
Wish they looked better and had a transfer case like the Sprinters. Sucks the Awd isn’t higher than the 2wd either.
Pretty cool. Did they mention pricing at the display?
as seen I believe these cargo vans with nothing inside started at $33k.
Want the turbo boost and your insurance rates also boost boost too.......
Ford knows how to do transmission now..... Ford focus transmission problems. Yep screwed it up and said bugger off to customers as there is no fix
you need to talk to your dealer again. got ours fixed last year. works perfect.
This is so outdated. 2020 comes with a new 3.5 V6 with a 10 speed auto. Let me tell you .. the 10 speed will make that thing nicer. It worked wonders on my F150. A bench seat is coming. Lots of new things. A different Diesel is coming too. (I think)
These are impossible to find
I drove four vans transit’s and I was stuck on the side of the highway every other month they are total garbage fire self a nice sprinter van
I was at the DMV the other day and was admiring a Sprinter van. The driver walked up and told me it was his company work van (not the owner) and he hated it. I guess there are opinions on both sides with these things.
Driven all 3. Sprinters look nice, great seating position and view to see the road, good power even for the 4 cyl. Can fit in any parking spot, easy to drive because of the short hood. But Benz reliability kills it. Ford is nice, and hopefully more reliable but doesn’t seat you as high. Harder to drive in urban environments. Promaster is terrible to drive, and is ugly.
I wish I can pay off my 2017 Ford Transit and get 2020 Ford Transit EcoBoost
Why don't you trade it in. I'm thinking of trading my 2017 F150 when Ford finally builds class B motor homes.
Ford transit van is my biggessssssst love !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💜💙💚🤎
It's a 10 speed automatic
What I think, the five of us my two wives and two kids, would have been funnier.
I want the high roof top eco boost medium length-AWD Cargo model..Price?
Turbo on any gas or diesel is just one more thing to fail. It strains the Engine. Non Turbo Engines last longer.
Cummins turbo diesels seems to do very well.
What about turbo prop airplanes? The state of Nevada DOT has one in their fleet that flies every day with no issues.
@@mixflip yeah my 1985 300d Mercedes has 600 thousand on a turbo diesel crazy good old car
Every semi tractor on the highway has a turbocharged engine and they regularly run near a Million Kms before needing major service. Its all in the maintenance. Take care of your vehicle.
Turbo gas engines are no problem now. Engines nowadays are designed for turbo use. Not like back in the day it was an accessory
shout out to the Cambodians.
Yup. My aunty is from Cambodia.
@@mixflip That's awesome I'm Chinese Cambodia. Happy Khmer New Year and many thanks for all your convention videos!
AWD and diesel are not available together. The title is a bit click baity.
Diesel is not displayed anywhere in the video title nor in the thumbnail....so I'm a bit confused how its click bait?
Haha you are such a douchebag. You change the title.
@@jamesnj3454 just kidding....it does say it in the thumbnail. Relax bro....
Video is by another guy on welfare..he needs the views for a you tube check
Did anyone notice the potential at 5:09?
Are you talking about the big butt, or the van?
@@nnickr The donk. The badonkadonk.
It checks out
That looked like a 60yr old lady 😂😂😂
Turbo V6 gets its fuel mileage like a V8 when you use it like a V8 there is a shorter shelf life of a turbo on a gasoline engine over a diesel because of the temperatures.. diesel turbos actually off set a shorter lifespan of the turbo with far better fuel mileage and torque.. they should have kept both diesels and got rid of the turbo gas.. 1 diesel for fuel mileage the other diesel pull like a V8
Leary of turbos
I had an old 1989 Mitsubishi Station that had a factory turbo that made it to 200k so I can't really say I've had any bad experiences with factory turbo vehicles. But then again that was the only experience I had. Cummins seem to have a good reputation with factory turbos.
They have major carbon buildup problems with direct injection on gas motors. The ones that use both D.I and port injection seem to be better. D.I is okay on diesels though. Different animal.
@@matthoward1174 I believe the Ecoboost says it uses direct inject vs traditional port injection. I have ecobost on my interceptor for work and it hasn't left me stranded yet. But then again it has only been 3 years. Time will tell.
I've got the 3 5l transit 250 Sherrod with 4.10 gears and its alot of fun .
These motors have been detuned for longevity and reliability. You have to remember they are work Van's and so they turned them down so they last longer. I've got 149k currently and have only broke dn once due to the 700$ alternator .
Quit saying "actually"
I'll work on it.
усы тебе не идут :) сбрей :)
You used click bait to get views. THIS IS NOT THE 2020 FORD TRANSIT.
This is actually one of the 2020 prototypes
3.7 and not 3.5? What's up? That unknown spot is for cigarettes so you can't reach them while driving. Really, if your reporting on something you no little of, your a liability to the public.
ford transit nothing but problems to many recalls that can't be solve garbage truck so sad sad sad
the ones buying these are not doing there homework, I was thinking of buying one until...
the idiots putting V-6;'s in vans for gas mileage is a JOKE and way way under powered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
