The best storage for keeping cds in place are real wood bookcases. They are worth the money. I see alot of these videos where collectors stack them all the up to the ceiling in these cubes they buy at IKEA. Big mistake especially if you live in the state of California like I do. Bad for your health. I have over 2000 cds and they look great in them. But I was lucky that my last job I work at they were throwing away these bookcases (11 total). I took them all home free and I love them (from 976-CREOLEMAN).

Love seeing how you enjoy classic rock as well as a lot of bubbly fun pop. So many people restrict themselves to a strict category.
I’ve always enjoyed multiple genres, from hard rock to pop princesses. I was born jn 1970, and it wasn’t unusual for me to listen to deep Purple followed by Debbie Gibson - and enjoying them both equally.
So it’s refreshing to see someone younger with the same range.
I'm glad you enjoy what you have seen so far. I just love music in general I never really had a hard bias for any particular genre or era. I love finding new artists and discovering new types of music. :)

I recently purchased a piece that is not in my collection. and now it's worth $200. Seriously, sometimes that's the best investment you can make. but if you were to do it for investment, you wouldn't be able to. Everyone asks why I didn't sell my collection. Big memory here, man. And I'm pretty old - I don't need money.
For those wondering what I'm buying, I bought an album called Yo Soy Mina from a small shop. an enormous piece. It was a little pricey, but whatever. worth making myself happy.😎

👋 Hi You have the same Sony cd 💿 player as i do. I have Edifier speakers connected to it for better sound. I like the Elvis Presley cd, the cover picture of him is cool. .I own alot of Elvis cds.. The boxed set of the American album releases of the Beatles i have too. I like how some of the albums were released with instrumental tracks on them. I own a large collection of cds, alot of genres and many jazz music cds. I like movie soundtracks, because some have rare tracks on them and also a mix of music. I like Blondie, i had the albums Parallel Lines 1978, Eat to the Beat 1979, and Autoamerican 1980 on vinyl back in the day. I have been going through my collection and playing them . Good collection. I am a Beatles fan as well. With such a nice collection, I suggest that you might enjoy a better audio system. I put together a small system for around $800. The cheap audio man on the tube has some great low price recommendations. I have a little luck buying used gear and used CD's from Goodwill and local thrift stores.

Great collection! You seem to have great taste. Any plans to get a bigger stereo? I’m sure the little Sony player sounds good but with the speakers being so close together you are missing out on a lot of the stereo magic you would be getting with a speaker on the left and right. I recommend LEAK who make one amp and one cd player that are incredible and those along with some wharfdale speakers and you would be blown away especially with such an epic collection!

I have her CD single with Justin Timberlake but that is all I own in my collection currently.

How many pieces do you have in your collection and what kind of music does it consist of?
Someone with as much music appreciation as you, you really need a better sound system. Trying thrifting for second hand audio gear. It can be exciting and is the only bargain left out there when building a hi-fi.
Have you thought about upgrading your CD player like the marantz, nad, or Cambridge with a receiver and speakers or are you just going to stick with the boom box for now.
I'll Probably end up upgrading my player sometime in the future but im not in a huge rush.

Wow. That’s a lot, sorry to ask but can’t you use RUclips or Apple Music/iTunes or Spotify? I felt like I’ve over bought a lot but I don’t have a thousand CDs but I felt like it mentally kept me away from discovering music online through iTunes or RUclips.
What I do to listen to my entire collection is turn my collection into mp3s and load onto my mp3 player and computer. Doing so I can listen to my 25,000 songs on shuffle and experience everything in a unique way each time, while still being able to pick and choose when I want to... when it comes to new music I'm always checking the weekly charts for country, rock, pop and seeing what's new. Buying new albums blindly is also fun to me because it's like a surprise. I have found many artists that I love through blind buys like that. So yeah I do use RUclips to scout new releases but I never listen to the full album online. I usually listen to one, maybe 2 songs from the album and then buy it so I can experience the full album physically. For me having a physical collection and playing my own music rather than streaming just adds to the experience. :)
Okay. I need some serious help. I have a very large CD collection and I need those sleeves that hold the CD AND title page cover along with song titles. So many on Amazon that I don't know what to buy. HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.😊😊😊
well i really dont use any other kind of packaging i just keep my albums in the standard cases and what i feel is overflow i just keep in binders and store away the cover art.
The majority of my cds are from 1990s every decade it’s less and less cds because there is always less selection and music isn’t getting any better.
I have over 5,000 CDs cassettes and vinyl rock hip-hop r@b and more.

Right now they really arent in a real order besides my top shelves are for most played albums. in the future i plan to organize everything.
You don't put them in chronological order, huh? I could never do it that way. I do alphabetical by genre, then albums in chronological order followed by singles after each individual album. An artist's compilations go at the end in chronological order. Do you have any cd singles or compilations for 45 and 12" mixes?

The only CD singles I own that I can think of at the top of my head are : "Faith" - George Michael, "4 Minutes" - Madonna/Justin Timberlake, "Rude" - Magic!, and "No Time To Die" - Billie ELISH... I also have a couple CD comps of singles like the Mickey Gilly singles for the 60s. Im probably forgetting some but I show the rest of my collection in the other parts of the series. I generally have my main artists organized but constantly getting new albums and listening to them just makes them get out of order over time. every once in a while i reorganize them by release for the artists.

your not getting the best out of that collection with that sony player. get something like a marantz transport and amp with a decent set of speakers, will transform your collection

Everything I have there to display, hold, and show off my collection I was able to get for pretty cheap at Walmart.
