You two are doing it like Ruby use to. Man, thanks Wynton & Bucky. Ruby was amazing when he was younger, and he still has much his style here. The power and the full tone Ruby had and daredevil moves he made on his horn, much will be loved forever thru the generations of people that don't equate music with what's contemporary.
Ruby plays the most music here - but everybody sounds wonderful (Faddis is always at his best imitating other trumpeters) and Doc Cheatham's chops are unbelievable for his age!!
I know that is not a competition, but Joe Faddis with one or two notes made more feeling to this music than other improvisations. Everytime I see Wynton Marselis play with others, the guy next to him play more real solos and melodies. This teach us the difference about trained music and music with soul and feeling. But Marselis is a great player with a lot knowlodge.
Wynton is a national treasure not only for musicianship but for his ability to keep American jazz in forefront of our consciousness.

3 trumpets + Ruby, what Ruby use to do himself.
