- Key to healthy bonsai is a healthy rootball. In summer there are things we can do without repotting that aid the rootball. If your pot looks green and overgrown, if you have decaying fertilizer all over the pot, consider practicing Soji, the Japanese technique of cleanup, applied to the pots of our bonsai.
Removing the surface coat helps aeration, it helps water penetration and aids in healthy roots for the rest of the year.
Nice one again Jelle, keep up the good works!
I am much more interested in doing clean-up work on my bonsai than in the house . . . !
nice summer clean up
Very helpful, thans Jelle
I need to do mine! Once the weather warms up long enough to stay outdoors for more than ten minutes!
I've been practising Soji without realising it, my friend, for the past few weeks, so thank you for that very instructional video. I've always liked moss in my tree plantings, but I am seriously going to chnage that from this point forward! 😁👌
Thanks Jelle - some great tips that I've never thought about. I do a cleanup in winter, but aside from weeding, have not thought about summer cleanup too much. Brilliant!
I thought we wanted moss on my Bonsai because I see it all the time online. Thanks for clearing that up with the reasons it is not desirable.
Very useful video thanks jelle keep up the good work mate thanks
👍👌🙂
I see you use Seramis in your soilkomposion.
Why do you use this?
What kind of tree is that? It looks Very good😍🌳
OralB is the best. believe me! 🤣
Hi jelle,do you have a Cryptemaria video to give care advise on?
Hello.
What species did you work with in this video? I can't recognize them by the shape of their leaves.
