- A top all-female fighter pilot squad was the best of the best and could run circles around their male counterparts in dog fights while training. They would have been far more aware of anti aircraft weapons on the ground than what they might hope to see by squinting their eyes in the dark.
Remarkable how they can fly with their eyes closed.
Great gun range, into trees and an unknown backstop, still artistic licence eh!!! Cheesy film, even the flying scenes which is why I watched it.

Ok... I am all for a strong female role movie. But, the opening scenes show they were up against, let's just say less than males.
Look up how often women hurt their necks compared to males. Watch women's rugby, every impact looks like someone got whip lash. I dont think women equipped to do the job physically. Too bad alot is politics. If management is against it they get replaced.

@colinpaulwhite6135 Having served 8 years in the US Air Force, I can give a straight answer on this. It largely depends upon which uniform exactly, what career field, and in what situation. The regulation that governs this is called "AFI 36-2903 Dress and Appearance." When in Class A's or Formal Mess Dress, simple yet elegant ear rings are allowed to be worn by females. Exceptions may be made by Squadron Commanders. One such example, I have first hand experience with, would be having served in Special Tactics units, as well as in Security Forces as a Raven and in assistance with undercover operations in a law enforcement and intel gathering or recon, situation. In those instances, the service members are instructed specifically not to look like military personnel. Therefore, those "Dress and Appearance" regulations fall under the exception clause set by their squadron commanders.
I came in Security Forces, went through Raven school and was assigned tasks assisting Office of Special Investigations during a few undercover operations as well as special recon, then I cross-trained out of Security Forces, and into Special Operations Weather Team as a Recon Specialist. While in SOWT as a recon specialist, I performed duties where I needed to blend in with undisclosed populations, gather intel, and relay my findings to Theater Commanders so that they would be able to know not only the weather forecast, but also what types of other units and equipment would be best suited for future operations in the area and future deployments, and in some cases, the intel lead to a theater commander having the required information to make a decision on if they should put an installation, outpost, forward operating base, or other type of structures there, and what types of units and equipment could be expected to be used as well as tactics and strategies, used by our opposing forces/enemies within that area. In instances such as those, blending in to the local population, I sometimes had to grow a beard, grow my hair out of regs, and even wear ear rings and clothing much more like what the locals wore.
Outside of those kinds of things though, it is not really normal for US service members to have that kind of appearance in uniform, however, my service was from 2005 to 2013. Many such regulations have been changing with the recent administrations as well as change in mission sets, and locations of operation. I hope that helps.
