The best thing to do is watch a film and take advantage of the moment to relax and not spend time trying to find explanations and justifications to criticize. It's just a movie. Anyone who sees reality should watch the news on TV. Eric Roberts is a good actor, the plot is cool, period.

I have been subscribed for quite a while now hoping one day you could provide something with audio description, this would increase your subscription count bringing in more money from youtube for example according to the world health organisation there over one third of a billion people world wide who are either blind or have moderate to severe vision impairments. I know a lot of people who are sighted who enjoy your movies and I along with millions of other people would also enjoy this opportunity kind regards blind advocate
it's on most phones and all TVs mate. You just have to turn it on...and I believe you can download a app , with running voice descriptions,for the blind also,I know there is one for the deaf .

Always been an Eric Roberts fan...good to see him back in the game....plot is pretty common...but still fun to watch....

I have never been somebody's fan but Eric Roberts and his sister are well known all of the world.
As a (thankfully) former sub nuc, I'll provide some points of humor
A nuc sub cannot be operated by two people... it needs a minimum of around 6.

Yeah. There is a fair bit of artistic license going on in this movie. An Ohio has a complement of around 15 officers and 140 enlisted men. A Virginia has around 15 officers and 120 enlisted men. But this sub seemed to have a crew of about 30. A Virginia, as depicted here, does not carry Trident D5s. A Trident D5 wont fit in a VLS tube made for a Tomahawk. A Trident D5 does not carry a 5 MT warhead ... more like 12 x 475 KT (max) variable yield W88s , and as far as I know, a Trident D5 does not have a self destruct button. Also, the sub would have to be in the arctic ocean in order to for a D5 to reach Iran, North Korea, and Washington from a singe launch location.
So, they could have done a bit more background research. But heck ... this is Hollywood! Life is meant to be entertaining, and usually the good guy wins ... otherwise you don't get to make another movie. Unless, you are Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, or James Cameron ...
This is a fairytale . Do you guys have to spoil all the fun just because of a few tech details 😢 .
Nice movie. Eric Roberts is a very excellent actor that I feel is underated.
Well, he's underrated cause he's always being compared with his sister, who's overrated.

Submarine battles are special tension - this is a worthwhile movie. Eric is epic.
I used to know a young chap that was an Officer in Command of the Nuclear Weaponry aboard a British Nuclear Submarine. As quick as Flash Gordon and as subtle as the Saharan wind, he was. As far as I know the ship was nuclear armed as well as being nuclear driven. Martin was his first name. I never got to now his second name.
This is a battle like I've never seen!

Having a bunch of mercenaries to operate a modern submarine is ludricous.
When you're a mercenary with specialized training to operate this specific submarine, but can't see the so-called crawl spaces you're walking on top of...and when a ruthless mercenary puts down his weapon in favour of fists with the guy who's shot most of his colleagues...and then keeps him alive to march him to the bridge...why?

I like Eric Roberts, he played the Master in the 90's Doctor Who re-launch, that stared Peter McGann as the good doctor.

It's typical like in the bond movies when the main villain keeps bond alive rather than killing him instantly the time he's captured...
It's a facility to keep our hero alive n get the results desired by viewers i.e. defeat of the negative forces...
It's useless to see the movie after that...
Any soldier can fight on land and air warrior can hit the bird with missile. But crucial war is under the sea which highly unprecedented. That's the reason Navy is always special at par with Army and Air force. Royal salute ✨

Yeah, The complete lag of depth charges was kind of funny.
But at least we got an aft torpedo room, which was very retro 😄.
(I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a submarine with aft torpedo tubes since the late 50s)

Worth the time. Most modern films I am not thrilled. This was an improvement though. Thank you. I just realized , it is likely worth watching if Popcornflix is rocking it !

Kind of fascinating, how this was so close
and yet so far away from being a good movie at the same time.
The grand finale was pretty captivating though
and the set design deserves an honorable mention as well.
It seems they eventually ran out of money, but for the most part
I could buy we didn't have just one, but two distinct submarines.
Finally, The sparingly used CGI was pretty spot on.
My only complains there would be the bold-on missile hatches
and the fact that they put in a lot of topografi,
when I doubt that real subs (intentionally) run that close to
underwater mountains a lot.
Eric Roberts often played some real smarmy characters..... it was from the scar on his upper lip.

I love how the "electrical expert" grabs the business end of the soldering Iron with her bare fingers... She doesn't even flinch 56:23 Solder melts about 460 Deg. F and no smoking skin.

Excellent movie....The main reason the selection procedure for any armed forces in the world is highly crucial is to ensure the best of the best who supremely fit and mentally robust ensuring all time positive mentality to secure the vessel and protect the nation. Navy is not an easy job as it requires a high degree of mastery in command control....be proud of armed forces jai hind 👍🇮🇳

I agree with the forced gay storyline that is clearly shoved in as a after thought it's getting to common just to please people.. when a story actually call's for gay and lesbian actors I don't mind but for a hell of a lot of movies and TV shows you can tell it's forced in by pressure to please everyone.. broke back mountain it was called for and fits the show but action and horror films most of the time it's not necessary for plot witch ruins it.. but swearing and sex is a must for all movies and no god crap.. the cult of Christ pushing that shit as much as the p.c gay lesbian.. and no I don't hate on gay nor am I republiscum I just hate seeing stuff that's out of place or forced in by pressure to please people.

Uh…. Newsflash. Destruct packages do not exist on alert missiles. Test launches yes. RVs are removed and destruct packages do get installed on test missiles. (Former USAF Minuteman II/CDB ICBM Combat Crew Commander.) No big deal though. Gotta have some excitement in the script, right?

ok, i know this is just a movie but details separate a good movie from a stellar movie. the biggest error that screams out nearly every 30 seconds is the active ping of the sonar. for a super stealth sub, you would NEVER use active sonar. every time i hear the ping, i immediately think of voyage to the bottom of the sea where active pinging was ever present.
The captions on this are hilarious 😂 watch with captions on 😅

Kind of unrealistic, not that I'd know, but I'm pretty sure the doc getting a five minute crash course on firing orders or nuke arming/disarming, aborts or missile control would in fact be at least a ten minute crash course . . . or three weeks in a class on a base somewhere . . .

The doctor failed to shoot "the only one who can maintain the reactor" 24:34. He also failed several times to kill one of the hijackers. Is she alive? Yes...45:23. And he could have completely sabotaged the vessel.
