Lyric Pieces (Norwegian: Lyriske stykker) is a collection of 66 short pieces for solo piano written by Edvard Grieg. They were published in 10 volumes, from 1867 (Op. 12) to 1901 (Op. 71). The collection includes several of his best-known pieces, such as Wedding Day at Troldhaugen (Bryllupsdag på Troldhaugen), To Spring (Til våren), March of the Trolls (Trolltog), and Butterfly (Sommerfugl).
The theme of the first piece in the set, Arietta, was one of the composer's favorite melodies.

These songs are beautiful. Wonderful to remember those days when I playing ....
Grieg is so underrated.
The waltz has somehow strange harmonies, but it is really beautiful. And arietta's melody is very beautiful too.
It reminds me of Satie at times.
Wow the arietta is sublime
Simply beautiful
lovely! i dont listen to enough Grieg!
No 5 is definitely a Mazurka.
Yeah I would have guessed it as a Chopin mazurka if I didn't know better.
they are structually, formally simple and sounds plain but i like these suite cuz of musically well maded.
wouldn't thats show us his genius?
especially like the first and fifth.

👁️🎹👁️🤔What I'm not capable of doing, and someone else is, can only be exceptional. I'm not judging anyone, I just think so.
Too fast, tune poked out, very little interest in playing this first piece, love is absent. No.4 kept extremely with the metronome. No.7 where's the phrasing? The rest are passable. 6/10!!
The Watchman's song is one of the most beautiful classical piece. Unfortunatly, I could'nt say it listening this play.
So usual on Utube.. People knows how to play.. technically. But not musically.. Sad🙄
To be honest, Grieg is not an outstanding composer. It only included Nordic people in the classical music field.
It? huh...
your taste in classical music is disappointing.
Listen to his lyric pieces book X, genius and beautiful
His piano concert is one of the best ever composed, on par with Rachmaninoff's second and fourth in terms of period. I'd say the theatre pieces (e.g. Peer Gynt Suite) is amongst the best romantic period pieces ever; I'd easily sideline it with Rachmaninoffs and Tschaikovsky's finest symphonies and symphonic dances. What regards the period (late romanticism), Grieg was easily one of the foremost.
Grieg is a very great composer. Some of his works are underrated, it is a pity. Sonata, Concerto, Ballade, piano pieces, all his works are wonderful.
