If you tame the parent, the baby dinos do get a tame bonus to levels. When the parents experience a tragedy the babies come out at that level. For the topic around 47:00. Also should name the Argy: Talon

i tamed a 150 rex and had a baby, once the parent was done i tamed the baby and nothing happened. no extra lvls just a 150
explains why my brontosaurus baby was way tougher that it's parent
To save yourself a couple of inventory slots, you can use the Auto Stack button (should be furthest to the right, next to like Folder View and stuff where our beloved S+ Pull button was). It won't do a whole lot, but I saw in the first couple minutes of the video that you've got multiple incomplete stacks of the same resources. Think that mostly happens when crafting and repairing things.
For the wild baby dinos, I've noticed that if you tame the parent the wild baby will upgrade to the tamed level before trying to run off. So you could instantly get breeding pairs if you get lucky with a different gender baby/juvenile from the parent (and if you're willing to ignore the familial connection, of course) that'll have the same stats as the parent. I think that makes it a little bit more interesting, since you'll have to protect both the knocked-out parent as well as the baby until the tame completes, and you'll have to be nearby when the tame finishes so the baby doesn't run away from the area before you can imprint on it. Makes it harder to utilize traps, especially for dinos you'd want to carry into a safer location with an argy, but the tradeoff is getting multiple dinos for the work of taming only one and the children can get the imprint buff. I can confirm this works, I tamed a 145 Rex that had a baby and a juvenile, both at 145, and as soon as the rex tamed at 217 the babies both also jumped to 217 before I imprinted them so now I have three rexes (two males and one female) when I only actually worked for one.
Kind of an interesting choice though - kill the parent and get a baby/juvenile very quickly and a lot safer, or work to tame the parent and come out with extra freebies at the higher level.

44:34 when ark first launched, I had a pve base there. We called it stonehenge too lol.
We were also first tribe on the server to take a giga (on official without kibble lol) recall someone was kept feeding narcotics because they drained so fast and took soooo long with just prime/meat lol and then walking it all the way here from the hill east of volcano. None of us where even high enough level to craft a saddle lol
Looking forward to the PvP vids! I can't stand PvP myself, but it's really interesting and fun seeing the totally different playstyles and priorities needed for Ark PvP. I know the servers have been janky, but hopefully not _too_ janky for it 😅

Instead of running your pack of dolts *through* the cave, set most of them up for an ambush. Then *pull* big packs back to them.
As I said in a previous video, I'd love for you to call the argentavis 'Bravo' as I always call my first argy that, and its a majestic name for a majestic bird
I actually think they should keep the baby dinos as they are. They're a *very* easy way to get tames so I think it's fine if they're only really useful in the early game - though I see someone's noted that they do get extra levels if you actually tame the parent instead of killing them, which I think works fine as well. You still have to put in the work to tame something but you get a bonus extra dinosaur (or two if you're lucky) out of it as well.
That's about how getting out of Carno Island cave goes for me every time 😂😂
Please do 100 days with iguanadons sometime in the future. My favorite Dino and would be an extremely tough challenge

Hey Rampy! I love your content and what you’ve been doing in Asa so far! And I think I can answer some of your questions, To change the snapping of structures you hold Q and same for if you want to change it back, When the saddle’s durability gets to zero it doesn’t break and dismount you, you just loose the armour it gives, and finally you didn’t get the kill on the meg because mega cause bleed so the attacks from your meg cause it to bleed and die

I thought the new pathfinding would prevent dinos from jumping off cliffs for things like the tek cave, but I guess not. Quite unfortunate.

i actually think the drops are good because there actually a reason to get them and people will now fight over in pvp and they become more challenging to get

Also i think the baby dino system is perfect because its a short cut so you shouldn't be rewarded for a short cut.
You can imprint on wild babies, but I think its pointless because they're mainly used either for prime or bait.

if you want to get rid of the death waypoint you can change all waypoint settings by opening your map and editing the settings thru the map interface. I hope this helps :D
What about a thylacoleo for the caves? They probably can't fit in all of them, but I guess they should fit almost everywhere the wolves do. You dont have to worry about the pack following you, they hit like a truck, have very decent health, plus the climbing ability and you can also get some strong saddles from the drops. The only issue is finding a high level one on the Island (or ideally a high level pair for breeding).

I did actually use a pack of raptors for caves on lost island
at least for the few I did seriously
there's one with a lot of parcour and climbing I did with one of those monkeys and some weird waterfall/river/lake cave you can do with an argentavis
I don't think dinos on follow are a pain in this game, you just need more patience xD they need a bit time to pathfind

I dont know if you found out that but dinos that have head damage when taming now have it while you are on dino or using a spear, also the damage is lowered for dinos that have reduction on head ex: trike
I’ve seen baby Dinos both get levels and not get them, but I haven’t noticed consistency with it. At first I thought it was based on taming the parent but videos I’ve seen have been disproving that, so I’m not sure

Fyi looks like textures and light is the only thing new in those caves so far. The jumps are all the same as well of the dinos. Yes i've spent too much time on the island

My laptop has been running ascended surprisingly well, but my fiancé’s computer totally shits anytime he goes near water, unless he turns off all visual affects for it, even after messing with various settings 💔

I don't really get what everyone is saying about the ark games not being optimized, of course this new one isn't, but it isn't that bad at all, other "closed level" UE5 games run terribly, some even worse than this, name another game with this level of graphical fidelity and so much "somewhat advanced" and detailed interactive AI just walking around with so much foliage and destructible environments around and also the textures are so high resolution, all on a large open world map... Secondly, ARK SE is not that bad at all when it comes to optimization, it runs on a gtx 950, a 35€ card, yes it's an 8 year old game, but it looks really good at max settings and on used 100-150€ GPUs it can be easily maxed out with 100+ fps (provided you have a ryzen 2000 series or intel 7th gen or later)... The number of dinos and the amount of content makes the fact that hdd loading stutters are so infrequent quite impressive, maybe once every 15 minutes a single loading stutter with many mods (and of course with caves, but that's a given) with the game downloaded on a WD green (eco power saving or whatever) 5400RPM really slow old HDD, the game has 300GB and it runs that well off an HDD? This new game is of course still very bad with performance, but this will improve, even if only a little, since it has to release on console one way or another, they made the console version, they won't throw it away just because it can't sustain 30 fps, remember ark on ps4 lol

Hey there, I'm assuming you're playing in singleplayer? I have the weird issue that I can't load my singleplayer save files once I've reached a bit of progress, the game just crashes in the loading screen, and I can only continue playing when I delete the save and create a new one. Playing on a server also works fine. I assume that my save files somehow get corrupted at some point, but I don't know when and why. Do you have an idea?
Does sounds like a corrupted save. If you have any backup saves try loading those instead!
Can somebody tell me how to get lvl 150 dinos in asa singleplayer? Even with max difficulty ON I'm just getting all dinos up to 120 also with the lvl 4 jumps (lvl 36, 40, 44 etc).

I have no idea what is going on with your lighting effects. It keeps flashing aggressivly whenever you turn the camera. I have a 4090 as well, and played today, but I neither had this issue or the water/lava visual glitch.
Not sure either honestly, I had it on stream a lot today. Only way to fix it was to relog.... Really annoying
@@Rampy Well it is something I am sure will be sorted out, cause I agree the game is absolutly stunning otherwise. Going into the deep jungle with occacional light shaft piercing through is an experience.
I don't know what I expected but seeing it's literally just a reskin with no mod support makes me sad.
