Whoa! Melli did it again! Thanks for reacting to this, Jillian and Jeremy. I agree, Matt would’ve probably appreciated some of these fills and the insane tightness of Aron’s playing here. But insane all three of them are, and obviously were already back then in 2014, when this song and their first album ‘Loopified’ were released. (“Run Away” was released this year) Of the making of this and all the other B&W videos from that first album, Aron said in a recent interview with Rick Beato that they really were ‘very bad’ ☺️ filmed in some room at the music con, I’m guessing. And while it’s not filmed live, but yeah it has that quality, with that breath of Jonah and all… I loved that you loved it, and Jill’s comment of ‘just what level of love’ was a pertinent one 😉 Also your comment of something being quite unusual 😉😉 -everything about the Loops I find unusual… Jonah’s harmonization skills on the keys are legendary, and the way he chooses different sounds and effects. There’s been a recent video on 5he YT channel ‘Pianote’ where he’s been invited to reharmonize a song he’s never heard. Watch it, it says so much about the workings of his mind. The first videos were definitely filmed in some studio at school, but this one looks like it's filmed in the same studio as "Rolling In the Deep", with the same stairs and balcony. I think it looks a bit like it could be Baggpipe Studios, where they recorded "Next To You", as you can see stairs along the wall at the very beginning, even though the railings are different? I don't know enough about studios to know if this is a common setup, with a balcony overlooking the studio, for lightning and whatnot, so maybe that's just a common feature all over. :D

This was one of their first original songs if not the first one. They started out by loopifying well known songs like Bieber's Baby to sound like this. I think they said at some point that they wrote their original songs the same way: first write a simple pop song, and then loopify it. This may have changed since, however. You may want to listen to one of their first covers to get the idea. Just Dance is great, and you can first react to the studio version and then to live version at "Moraeus Med Mera" since it's such a short song ;). There were other bands doing a similar thing at the time on youtube, I haven't heard of those since.
Yeah, this was their first single with their own music. Was a big hit in Japan and they were in the top ten on the lists there, I think. Japan has always been good at fusion music so of course they recognised that these guys are geniuses right at the start. :D I wish more of the world would realise as well. These guys deserve to be top ten with just about everything they release, if you ask me. But then again, I'm fangirling like mad over them, so I might not be the most reliable judge here. 😅😂
