How-To:
for milling solder mask off a custom PCB you have to spring-load your engraving bit. So the pressure is high enought to mill the solder mask (UV-resin) off the PCB- but not strong enought to mill trought copper.
You need:
ER11 nut
spring from ballpoint pen
3-d-printed holder and connection
90 degree engraving bit
For questions please write a comment. I will answer as soon as possible.
If you need CAD-files please feel free to ask.

Simplemente muy bueno, llevaba buscando algo en internet ya mucho tiempo, tu te sacas un 100
Hey cool idea with the 3d printed part, i did it with a metal coupler and spring.
nice vid i've been finding this for so longggg. tks for sharing :))))
That's what I was looking for. I have built my own cnc machine, it can make beautiful pcb tiles, but I still struggle with pads on solder mask 😅. May I get cad files? I would like to test it as soon as possible 😎
I will search for the cad files on the weekend. I‘m not 100% sure if I have these files. If I found the files I will upload the files on thingiverse and will answer you and share the link asap.
Here is the file- hope .obj is fine for you:

Thank you so much 😊
@@rgblu3176 Did you have any luck with printing the files from thingiverse? On my Prusa they are not scaled properly.
I tried my own designe, but in the end I made adapter 1/8 to 7mm on lathe.
Nice one. It would be cool to see it actually working.
Do you have the spindle on while using it? or it is off and just "dragging" the bit on the solder mask?
Thanks.
I have an upgraded spindle. During isolation milling I use 20k RPM with an spiral engraving bit.
During soldermask milling the spindle is on- but with lower RPM (something between 1000-3000 rpm).
I will upload a full tutorial as soon as possible. But I will need a little bit more time for it because I‘m working on some other projects. Stay tuned! Thanks for your interest.
@@diy_projectx5464 thanks :)
I also have my own design for a spring loaded bit but when I tested it with the spindle on it would actually carve the copper. That is why I asked.
@@retrolobo maybe check if you can use another spring with less tension. Without rotation the solder mask breaks or the solder mask flake of like color.
