A corrupt court makes illegitimate rulings.
And what Lawrence has overlooked here (and perhaps what the MAGA component of the Supreme Court also intended), is the persuasive effect that the powers Trump will be able to exercise - if re-elected - will have over anyone involved in his future prosecutions. Knowing that this will be a revenge presidency/monarchy, they'll now be aware that if linked to further prosecutions - whether as judges, prosecutors, witnesses or jurors - Trump and his MAGA cohorts will make sure that their lives won't be worth living.

The sitting president, elected by the people makes that determination and then the senate, also elected by the people confirms them. That is the purpose of voting for senators and representatives to make decisions on people's behalf. And what does 13 justices have to do with today's population? that makes no sense. You only want more justices that will make decisions you like. It doesn't work that way. Because if a conservative judge stacked the court with 4 more judges the way you say a president should, you would still complain it's not fair. Some decisions go the right's way, some decisions go the left's way. It's just the way it is.

Those who voted in the majority in this decision need to be held accountable for upholding the violation of the Constitution.
Trump has now written to Judge Merchan to get his recent conviction overturned, on the basis of yesterday's ruling! However, the recent convictions were committed BEFORE he was even president, so it's ludicrous. Whilst the accounts in this case were 'signed off' during his term, he STILL committed the crimes during the run-up to the 2016 election, so immunity cannot be applied retrospectively in this way. I trust that Judge Merchan tosses this application to overturn and sentences Trump as he should be.

Trump pretty much wants to make himself as king of America merely for the luxuries, privilege and power and wouldn't how about how much responsibility a monarch has and how to use them wisely. Trump knows nothing about the trials and duties monarch goes through and it would be clear to see that plenty of monarchs would reject his monarchial government and refuse to see him as a royal ruler. A Monarchy isn't about the power or having a luxurious lifestyle but how well a monarch rules his nation well and lookin got for his people including with the charities and the lifetime service one has to do.
