- I love sharing the stories and these truly impressive vans. Don and Becky and the folks at Vantasia Vans worked hard to create such a fun event, Spring Fever. This years theme was Vantoga, which included a full on toga party and a great band. A good time was had by all.

from one of Misty Mountain Vans founding members, in California we had a Run called Spring Fling in the gold country and it was one of the best, not a huge one like King City use to be but was so much fun even the clubs from Canada would come to it

If you ever want to scuba dive, a group of 10-12 of us from all over the USA get together for big trips to beautiful diving areas. This year in October we are heading to Indonesia ( we’ve been to these waters a few times). You’re always welcome to join up. Good luck with the new van/build. When I met Jonnie for lunch on her way back from a build in VT, I was shocked at how much bigger her ProMaster was than I expected in all 3 dimensions.. My car and her van were parked on the other side of the road from the restaurant, in an overflow parking lot, so we had a long-distance perspective looking straight at the front of them next to each other. The van was twice as tall as the car. And from the side, it looked like you could do a gymnastics tumbling run in it without hitting the ceiling.
Yes, my new van feels enormous. Lol. It’s funny, I let someone wear the bunny hat for most of the evening. She was having so much fun with it that I gave it to her. Time to order a new one.
Bev, Miss you in Virginia. My bro n law if you didn't know Ronnie Barfield passed away like 2 years ago. We had van show at Shands Park Stony Creek Virginia. Can't wait to see you again. I was there DJ. You may also know my sister Tracy which was Ronnie Barfields wife. Anyways hope to see you soon. I would love to travel and be there. It's so amazingf and you meet so many different people.

This was an outstanding video. I am very interested in getting into the Custom Van craze again. I used to love these vans back in the 70's & 80's. I'm starting to look again fir another van and join the crowd of Vaners.

@@BecomingBev 🤷♂️ the way some of them partied🥳 they might be 6' under. Those were some interesting times. Now I'm thinking about retirement and if in later years I might need a wheelchair lift van. Helping my elderly parents in that situation now. Do everything you can now, getting old is only for the tough ones.
I feel that way…. Now is my time. I sometimes ask if not now when?

Another great Becoming Bev video. Did you ever think back in your "normal" life that you would ever be doing something like this? So many memories came back watching this. Back in the late 70's I knew a kid that spent two years doing his van. Even had a custom made water bed in the back and of course it had shag carpet. Finally got the van done and backed it out of the garage and on the road. Went down two houses where there was a stop sign. Turned right and almost rolled the van when all that water sloshed to the left. Oops! I was in San Francisco back in the 90's and drove down to Monterey. What a beautiful drive. They had scenic overlook pullouts from the road. Could not believe how many old 60's-70's VW vans I saw with flowers painted on the side. I wondered if it was old hippies still or a new generation that had bought the van. Last memory was one you showed Roamer. I had a 1969 41 foot Chris Craft Roamer boat for a long time. So many memories of diving and boating. The Roamer line was steel or aluminum hulled boats. So glad you are living life!!! .
I never even knew van life or vanners were a thing. My early life was so much about survival. Love Love your walk down memory lane. I love that you’re still laughing about that water bed. Lol

vannin on the left coast is almost all gone with the gas prices and the long distance between where the runs are, back in the day 500 to 1000 miles one way to a weekend run was common place

Bev I have no doubt if I'd found out about all of this van life stuff and conventions and the awesome people 20 years ago, it would have been my life too. Like I've said, I have to do this vicariously through you. One day I am going to sneak over to the campground for a meetup and sleep in my van wannabe....😂...my SUV. ❤

I seen you at the 50th nationals
It was soooooo much fun.
In the video business, shutting the camera off when you think you're shooting and vice versa, is known as "reverse trigger." PITA when it happens. I try and avoid that but still have some clips with nothing much but walking feet and so on ... gads. Hoping to avoid that when shooting the 50th Nats for our show, RVing Today Television. Perhaps we'll see you there on the grounds!

Hi Bev ! Thank You for your wonderful videos - your " joie de vivre " is SO contagious and your coverage is amazing, no wonder EVERYONE Luvs Ya ! I started living in vans back in The UK in 1973, working around the caravan sites, so your posts bring back many happy memories ! As an avid photographer, may I ask what equipment you use to make your videos ? I have seen many reflections of you holding a cell 'phone, but did I catch Misty {?} with a digital SLR or similar on a gimbal device of some sort, especially when you were interviewing someone ? Many Thanks and please keep up the good work, and many happy and safe miles !

Does Vanning mean something different than VanLife?
Yes, There appears to be two separate van groups, although there are some crossovers like me. The van life group seems to live in their vans or travel for extended periods of time. They’re more likely to really enjoy the outdoors and sitting around a campfire. The vanners meet during the summer at van rally’s or truck ins. They are weekenders and are more likely to have a show van. What both groups have in common is that they LOVE their vans.

I moved into my van four months ago. I kinda feel like I'm cheating because, it's a fully off grid 2022 Roadtrek Zion SRT. Van life has its challenges but I love it. Thanks for all your content, Bev. It helped me take the plunge!! 😂
Cheating is just fine. Nothing wrong with being comfortable. I just bought at 2021 Ram Promaster. I hope your happy with the choice and living an adventure.
