The problems with ambulances began under the Blair government, basically hospitals were getting hammered by the government over waiting times in A&E departments. As a result hospitals caught on thet could massage figures by refusing to let ambulances drop patients off ar A&E, so instead of getting back on the road ambulances remain stuck at hospital until hospital formally accepts patient. I live alone and recently fell off my roof, my injury was a severe wound to my arm, I worked out I could ring for an ambulance and potentially bleed to death waiting on one as local news estimated wait of between 5 to 8 hours the previous day,or crawl around to my neighbours and beg a lift. Strangely enough I chose the latter option
@NattiGeeOver50 Another major problem is people using A&E as a GP drop in centre, but hardly surprising when the hoops people have to jump through to get an appointment. Triage before anybody will even contemplate making a decision and now they try to direct you to pharmacy. So people clogging A&E so more waiting in ambulances to even be admitted.
14 years of Tory defunding. Imagine how much worse it would be if the Tories had their way and it became like the USA where you have to pay tens of thousands of pounds for that ambulance!
The best example I've had is we can't give you career advice unless your unemployed, after being referred around the houses for just some maths mock tests simlair to the exam I was sitting, or sorry you couldn't get this apprenticeship bc you haven't on this particular course after 2 interviews even though I have a degree in the field.
If it was my daughter i would not wait for an ambulance i would drive them or get a taxi. Are you honestly telling me no one could have taken her? I work for the ambulance service and I can tell you now most people can make their own way to a&e but they think if they get an ambulance they will get seen quicker, not the case. Most can't be bothered moving from the couch. Totally different if you are completely alone or say live with people who do not have capacity or the person is unconscious or really elderly.

Its at breaking point Bob....That is so awful that you couldn't even trust that the ambulance would be there for you....Like i said, disgraceful!
