  • This is just a "teaser" video of my B7094 emulator project, to attract the attention of those who have not seen it before.
The project emulates the IBM 7094 mainframe computer from the early 1960s, and includes many demonstration scripts to show what it can do. The scripts make it very easy to use.
I did a couple of videos for the project almost 5 years ago now, but it has been substantially enhanced since then, although this simple video does not show any of the new capabilities - it's just a simple demonstration to show what it looks like in use.
Here the emulator is compiling a Fortran program to generate prime numbers, and then executing the result. The video shows the scripting system, the activity of the card reader and line printer, the tape drives, the "blinkenlights" of the operator console, and finally the output listing from the compiler.
The original video from 5 years ago is here:-

Note that the project on Fosshub in the description of the above video is the OLD version.
The NEW project is now hosted on Github:-

This is really awesome. I’m going to have a lot of fun learning to operate and program this fantastic machine.

I Hope you do enjoy it!
All of the recent improvements were made by my long time collaborator, Jim. He has also created lots of documentation which is in the GitHub release.
