The English version of the album is great but Marko feels at home and there’s more emotion in the original. I’m just happy to enjoy both, one for the emotions and one for the lyrics
Hi there, Tauri! New subscriber and old Nightwish fan (who's back after a _long_ hiatus) here! This was actually my first listen to "Stones" and I must say that I _really_ liked this one! I felt a bit of an Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) vibe from Marko during some parts of this one, but I feel the same when I listen to "The Islander". Very nice folk rock/metal that's right up my alley!
Tauri,I downloaded Marko's album on Spotify several months ago when it was first released only in Finnish. I was, (and still am) mightily impressed,he really is a major talent !! p.s. Gotta love the guitar player, singlehandedly bringing back flared trousers....LOL !! 😊😊
I love how this isn't what I expect. I mean, skilled, powerful, etc. Of course. But, you're right, this is blues-y, country-ish, but still rocking. All of the band members have their own aesthetic. They don't match, but they mesh so well.
I'm so happy you enjoyed this! The Finnish language version of the album is incredibly beautiful if you can find time to listen. Marko does have a video for "Isäni Ääni" from the Finnish version, which I highly recommend you check out if you haven't! Otherwise, "Succumb," the new track from the Symphonic Metal band Seven Spires, is REALLY good!
I watched Marko's music video for "Isäni Ääni" when he first released it and I was still debating whether or not to do a reaction channel of my own haha. I did listen to his Finnish album a little yesterday while editing and doing the usual house hold chores lol. Thank you for the request, I'll get it added to my list! :)
Thank you for your reaction. I really enjoyed this video. It's a great song and you can hear some of Marko's musical influences shining through. I'm a Finnish musician and I've been listening to Marko Hietala since 1986 when I saw the original "Wings of Darkness" music video by Tarot. Some of his biggest influences come from progressive rock bands. One of them is Jethro Tull. That band also played folk rock and naturally had a mixture of blues in their music as well. Many rock songs with some acoustic guitar parts sound much more folk than country. There have been quite a few European bands that are somewhat influenced by old English folk music for example. Well, this scribble of mine is starting to get incredibly boring... :-) What I really wanted to say is that I really like your style and you've gained a new subscriber. Keep it up!
Hi Tauri, for the first thanks for the nice reaction video which really was had reactions and emotions :) You asked suggestions for bands, so here we go... check Wintersun .. perhaps Sons Of Winter and Stars ruclips.net/video/Tl5T-glTdXw/видео.html&start_radio=1 (Drummer Kai Hahto used to be in that band before Nightwish as you might already know. And as an extra, if you are a drum(mer) "freak" of a any bit you might want to check the same song as an drumcam version to see the "workout" which produces the stedy drum wall where the others can lean on during the song. Impressive song I think in its own genre).
I love Marko. No matter what he does I seem to love. I think that is a great idea about Fridays..... :-)
I do too, he is a remarkable talent and thank you, Ann!

Marko for the win !!! 12 string guitar in the beginning
I like how Marko's personality just pulls you into the songs he sings
It really does!
Marko has teenage discord girls longing for him
@@corneliusantonius3108 What a weird thing to say, considering I'm neither a teen or "longing for him"...
@@corneliusantonius3108 .......Marko has women of every age longing for him......myself included.......lol
