- Unfortunately during the editing of this video I realized I was mispronouncing Maruchan as Manchurian. This level of incompetence is totally unforgivable. If I had elected to re-shoot or re-edit this video it would have unacceptably delayed the upload. So for the sake of my viewing audience, I will boldly face the inevitable criticism and ridicule that I so deserve. I deeply apologize for my indiscretion and for all the future indiscretions I will most likely commit. Thank you.
What is the best brand of chicken flavor ramen noodles to buy, Top Ramen or Maruchan?

Today we try these two brands of ramen noodles to discover which one tastes the best and is the better price.
Top Ramen and Maruchan should be available at most supermarkets like Albertsons, Publix and Walmart. We were able to find them at our local Kroger store.

As someone who grew up on maruchan ramen. I couldn’t even finish my first ever bowl of top ramen due to it being really salty to me. Maybe I’m just not used to it but I think there’s a clear winner between the twoo!
I love the salt in Top Ramen and I always have to add extra to Maruchan for it to taste the way I like. Top Ramen will always be the best in my book, I think Maruchan is bland

Always loved maruchan and hated top ramen. Top ramen just has a weird flavor. If you want to taste a great difference, try these against each other again but the beef version. They taste wayyy different. Great video.

@@foodfights6904 yes, the inventor of top ramen, was the first person to make instant ramen, he made these noodles because after world war 2 in Japan, everyone was starving due to the damage caused. So he thought of a food product that can be easily made and distributed to these people. The inventor first discovered this “magic ramen” after he saw his wife frying noodles and saw how they were dehydrated, and turned into noodles after boiling.
@@nr1421 Yeah nothing against him, he’s actually a great guy for what he did, I just prefer maruchan’s taste and texture as opposed to top ramens.
If you get a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, toss about a half cup worth in the pot. I’ve had better results to microwave the vegetables for 2m then toss them in the pot with the water/noodles/seasoning before turning on the heat. Bring it all to boil and it’s done.
Maruchan is my favorite, especially the now rebranded “Soy Sauce” flavor.

It's just Oriental flavor. Snowflakes got mad. So they changed the name to Soy Sauce. same with Top Ramen.
I prefer Top Ramen....
it feels less salty, less oily, has better texture and flavor for sure. I even put some chicken, or eggs or cilantro with onions and If I like I just use half of the seasoning to avoid much and still taste great!!

The salt content of Maruchen is what makes it better. More broth
The main difference is that Maruchan caters to American taste preferences. The noodles are sweeter and the seasoning has more mellow and sweeter flavors. Nissin Top Ramen is basically the same flavor made for Japan where taste and expectations are different. Maruchan has made it their mission to be the brand Americans expect and it is no mistake they are the biggest in the US market. They taste like what Americans want from ramen. Nissin is not concerned with that. Both are good products. But they are definitely not the same, at all.

I disagree with the copium. See you would have an argument except Americans are generally against MSG (monosodium glutamate) while Japan favors it. Nissin noodles has no msg as advertised and Maruchan actually has MSG in the ingredients. Maruchan is just better.

My ramen costs $0.50 per pack. For Nissin and Manchurian. Used to eat the Manchurian growing up but usually go for nissin after I found out they invented it.
I discard the flavor packet and judging by the texture alone, Top Ramen is the clear winner - It is made with alkaline water which gives it a better texture, than Maruchan which just seems like plain pasta texture. I use my own broth, ingredients & seasoning for better flavor and less sodium.
Top ramen has the best chicken flavor.
Maaaaaan, this guy makes me want some of that famous Manchurian Chicken.
I've had them all ! Noodles are noodles. I throw other food items in with the noodles. So it really doesn't matter which I buy.... BUT there is a big difference when you get the fancy/premium noodles. $1 a pack or more. Shin Ramyun is a good brand, Sapporo Ichiban is another.

The world of ramen is actually HUGE ! These two are just cheap, American made widely available brands. Try gourmet Korean ramen !

I'm currently eating a lot of these (Maruchan Chicken) because I've been getting the flu or colds for the third time in a row already. I'm also eating the Maruchan Yakisoba Teriyaki Beef and Spicy Chicken varieties. The Yakisoba Spicy Chicken variety I must say is a little too spicy to enjoy for me while the Teriyaki Beef variety is super delicious but the sugar content in it is probably not the best choice if you have a cold or flu. Most recently I tried the Nissin Stir Fry Cup Noodles, Hot Garlic Chicken flavor and I must say the spice level is perfect.
I added a pack of "Safe Catch Elite" Garlic 🧄 Herb wild tuna in it along with it's juices and it came out just right.

When you're in college you'll learn to love top ramen and it's not bad with condiments on it or things mixed in like crackers, chicken, chips, etc.

I literally just had Maruchan ramen. Honestly I usually get top ramen and Maruchan, And I tried both of them which they aren't really that much of a huge difference for me. Anyways nice video :)

A month ago, I ordered like 10 cases of Ramen. Both brands. Different flavors.
After eating both, I prefer Top Ramen.. Maruchan is way too salty..
I eat 2 packs in a meal.. I have to use 1 Maruchan seasoning pack per 2 squares of noodles. I use both packs of the Top Ramen seasoning per 2 squares of noodles..
With that said, the Nong Shim Korean spicey ramen is by far the best of the 3 brands but its more expensive

Season pack in top is powdery and more granulated in the other brand. Top I agree is far more salty its like two completely different foods to me.

You all must have Maruchan and Nissin mixed up. Nissin Chicken Ramen tastes way better than Maruchan Chicken Ramen. Nissin in general has better tasting noodles and soup seasonings.
