My niece doesn’t like sauce on her burgers so I didn’t add any. What’s your go-to burger sauce?
Ketchup and mustard 😋. Sometime ill add just mayo. But if i add sauce i just add a little. I'm not a sauce person either.

Kids just be like that, bro
To melt the cheese really well, add some ice to the skillet after you put the cheese in and then immediately cover the pan. The steam created will melt the cheese very quickly and won’t let you overcook the burger.

A splash of water works just as good and doesn't lower the temp of the pan as much

I used to peel apples for my oldest niece 😭. They moved and are almost grown up, so they probably will never ask me to peel an apple for them ever again 😭💔. And they always hated when I cooked but they still ate it 😭 they liked their mom's food more.
Kids are so easy to please I tell my kids Instead of Big Mac I make Meeka Mac burgers and instead of hamburger helper we have Meeka helper🤣😂🤣 it’s my own spin on what they like. 🤣

This was the most non in n out thing I’ve ever seen🤣 it looked good but it irritated me that this was the interpretation of in n out
You should never pre-season your beef because it begins to break down the meat and throws off the texture (same reason to not overmix). Also, especially with smash burgers, having that layer of seasoning on the surface of the patties helps to form the signature crispy crust. Not that the kiddos will notice but I'd still thought I'd mention in case you wanna make these again. (Super pro tip: slice white onion paper thin on a mandalin and put a pile on top before you smash the beef. It's called Oklahoma style and is the only way I make burgers anymore it's sooo good. Serve with American cheese, pickles and a simple burger sauce [2 parts mayo, 1 part ketchup and mustard, and half a part relish. I like to add a dash of paprika and cumin and a little bit of hot sauce])

Advice that works for me to melt the cheese (Im not american tho so it might not work exactly thw same with your cheese) few drops of water around the burger abd then put a lead or something on it to trap the moisture (even if you seered it the burger won't get soggy, it's just for a couple minutes)

The meat is overmixed.
You should just take it out of the package and gently form it into patties, no need to mash it with your hands.
Overmixing ground beef will make it tougher and chewier.
I think hamburgers only need to be seasoned by sprinkling salt and pepper onto the outside of the formed patties, but I suppose that's personal preference.

Salt is a natural binder when mixed with beef. Better to add the salt to the burger after you put it on the cooking surface. My suggestion is avoid mixing it into the meat. Unless you want an extra firm burger 🍔 .
