    Keith Whitley is to quote Bret Hart
    🥇The best there was.
    🥈The best there is..
    🥉The best there ever will be...
    The greatest country singer to ever live, nobody can hold a candle🕯to Keith Whitley!
    Notable mentions below him in my opinion are Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, & George Strait, to name a few but they aren't on the same level as Keith Whitley.
    Keith began singing Bluegrass he could sing low Baritone & instantly without missing a note switch to a smooth falsetto all with perfect pitch.
    Keith Whitley is the Elvis Presley of country music.

    Can't believe I found this, I still remember driving to school and hearing about his death, on the radio, so young So much talent, Keith would have been one of country's best singer songwriters, on top all the way, it's that damn dragon, and once it gets a hold on you, some just can't ever catch it,, RIP Keith. we miss you.

    Keith's voice was one of the finest in C&W history. Right up there with Lefty Frizzell, George Jones, Merle Haggard and Ray Price! Such a sad sad ending!

      @mychaelpierce8049 8 месяцев назад

      Randy was a fine singer, however, vocally his range was pretty much limited to the bass & baritone range. Keith could go from bass to almost a falsetto range very quickly. Probably only Ray Price back in the day was able to do that at that level. Take care@@awesomeisasawesomedoesyo182

      He had an awesome bluegrass voice also. When he was very young he sang for Ralph Stanley . This is a recording with him in JD Crowe and the new south . He had range for any music

    JD Crowe and the New South were never better than when teamed with Keith Whitley. They reopened my eyes to Bluegrass being more than Bill Monroe and the 'high and lonesome.' This band is 'clean as mountain water.'

      I wish Keith was their lead singer when Tony Rice , Ricky Scaggs , Jerry Douglas , and Bobby Sloan was with JD. I feel that was the best band he had but if Keith was singing and playing rhythm guitar ( Tony is a great singer but Keith is better but Tony may be the best guitar player ever) it would have been more of a super group than even it was then .

    It is a complete shame that Keith Whitley committed suicide 33 years ago now. Keith Whitley is such a country music singer the country music singers are going to remember forever.😢😢😢😢😢😢😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂

    • @adamr9215
      @adamr9215 Год назад +3

      He didn’t commit suicide, he drank himself to death. Alcoholism at its worst. Supposedly it was going to be his last bender, then he was going to quit drinking and fix things up with Morgan.

      I believe that morning he was similar to elvis with substances. He couldn't fight it anymore. I do believe two things happen in life. You either give in and cannot stop may be due to pressures of fame or disease or both. I believe Keith don't know ended his life. Too much in his system not to be. God bless Keith. As great a singer as George straight.

      Who cares. Even if he was, it sounds amazing. But based on his clear enunciation and lack of slurring, I'd infer that he wasn't drunk during this performance. But - even if he was... does anyone care? This was an amazing rendition.
