This is one of the things I adore about Aria. She doesn’t over dramatize or over act, she just watches and we see her for who she really is and what she’s really thinking and feeling. It’s a very refreshing change from the usual RUclips fare.

John Cleese and Connie Booth would spend six weeks writing each episode. Cleese has said that it was supplementing his income by appearing in commercials that made it possible. I remember reading that they used long rolls of paper to meticulously plan out the episodes. Cleese was particularly concerned with the structure with Booth contributing lots of the gags. Their scripts were at least twice as long as the average sitcom and Cleese has said they had twice as many camera cuts. They also spent a lot of time in the editing suite. I think most people would agree it was worth it and the episodes are very well constructed, with all the plot strands coming together beautifully.

They just made 12 episodes.2 x 6 Series and 4 years apart and got out, like many BBC UK Shows at the top as they are under no commercial obligation to continue like the original UK Office Series.
    The BBC has no adverts

This is made with so much thought, I guess that's why it's so good.
Trying to keep making more episodes just for profit could cost quality

~ Some of my all time favorite comedy shows, including this one, are British.
Another particular favorite, especially so if you enjoy intelligent comedy, is/was Yes, Minister 👌

If you do more series in the future, consider Seinfeld (US 1989-1998). I believe it's on Netflix. Probably the 2nd greatest sitcom after Fawlty Towers.

after you've finished Fawlty Towers. Please watch The Black Adder series (4 of them), Red Dwarf, THE YOUNG ONES, Bottom, Keeping up appearances, Hogan's Heroes, Mrs Brown's boys. There's a lot more, but these are on my mind right now.
