- Before my trip to Ecuador, I decided to do a short 1-week relaxing stop off in Cartagena. I was surprised to see just how different it was since my last visit in 2021. Obviously due to editing you don't see the entire interaction, but this guy literally followed me for over an hour. I could tell he was definitely under the influence of something however I wanted to remain friendly and nice, but sometimes I'm a little too nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my time back in Cartagena. Hope you guys enjoy this quick vlog of one of my favorite beaches and cities. Saludos!
Do you guys believe in being too nice when traveling?
Being to nice will cause your suitcase and money to become extremely light. You quickly become viewed as an ATM. Giving some is never ENOUGH to some people. Your on vacation to enjoy YOURSELF not to be a good will ambassador.

First rule, watch your surroundings. Second, don't make eye contact with anyone you don't want attention from.
When traveling alone you do have to be cordial. But you can be cordially stern and antisocial. Especially since he saw you talking and filming, which could’ve been for work and here he comes interrupting and pestering you. You handled it perfectly

@@ComplexWork honestly I thought it was very safe, had a great time with some locals also. I was only in quito and the galapagos didn’t go to Guayaquil which is apparently very dangerous due to drug trafficking

If I was in the states, then yeah I completely agree. While traveling however, I'm alot more patient mainly because I'm representing myself and black men across the world. The U.S. already pushes out negative agendas and stereotypes regarding black men to the world, so while I travel, I try to show the world we're much more than that b.s. There's literally a TON my friend!!! My favorite area by far, go to the "Getsemani" area. It's walking distance from the old town and that area is literally packed and full of food, bars, clubs, literally everything you can think of and it's always my favorite area.
