Din is faith, Bo Katan is the warrior princess, Grogu is the Mandalorian Jedi who can commune with creatures and he will tame and ride the Mythosaur. To restore Mandalore, I think they need all 3 of them.
Yep. But I think Din will ride the Mythosaur with his son’s help in taming it. Din rode the blurrg and the rancor (briefly) so that might have been foreshadowing. Bo Katan, wielding the Dark Saber, will be the ruler and will name Grogu as her heir apparent. Also thought about Boba being good with animals, so maybe he’ll be called in to help out with the Mythosaur? Go Team Mandalore!
Probably one of my favorite Mandalorian-episodes, so much story, charactergrowth and action in one episode. Din paying his respect to Bo-Katans' father with that "This is the Way" was just the icing on the cake.
every reaction I watched that was like "we're already at the mines?!" I just keep hearing you two saying "they're doing the thing", y'all didn't disappoint 😂
Bo's ship is a Gauntlet. The wings swing up to assist in quick landings to drop off troops. It features a rear hatch that troops can also fly out from to quickly deploy. It is good armament and is very maneuverable on landings so it can drop troops and zip out to give air cover immediately. A great ship for Mandalorians.
Did you notice all the scenes from the trailers are in the first episodes? We’re going to be left in the dark for most of the season. I really don’t know what to expect but I think the Mythosaur is just what they both Din and Bo needed to understand that a new age for Mandalore is coming. I’m so pumped
Boonta Eve is connected directly to the Pod Race that Anakin won in the Phantom Menace. You even see two speeders racing around the city in the opening shot.
I wouldn't say she dislikes him. she's just bitter because everyone left and she's now the Leader of no one. He got the dark saber fair and square according to their traditions.
Probably the most nuanced character in all of Star Wars. When we first met her she was a terrorist burning down an innocent village and trying to violently overthrow her sister’s rule. And now she’s…whatever she is right now. I’m so fascinated by her.
I dont think she necessarily dislikes him. She just doesnt like his beliefs and what he stands for. I think she has her own motives for leading him there but I think her helping Din twice without hesitation, shows there is some complexity there. She is a good one, but she has a lot to figure out. I think she started feeling something when she heard Din reciting the creed and then seeing the mythosaur is going to do a lot to change her perspective... Whether its for the good or bad for Din, we will see.
She clearly likes him a lot, or at least respects him a great deal. It's just that she hates that he's part of this zealotous cult that to her represents the Mandalorian culture's worst traits.
4:55 I was thinking about that too and it wasn’t until watching this that I realized he probably didn’t want to leave Grogu when he went to the mines, and he doesn’t have a pressurized helmet for Grogu (yet 👀), so the atmosphere had to be safe for both of them
there were so many thing in this episode that truly just made me fall in love with this series it truly was amazingly done. from Bo pushing grogu back to din saying "This is the way" to bo and to seeing the Mythosaur. I truly am excited for the episode 😭🤌🏼
I'm so excited by this, I thought Bo was going to be the antagonist. Now we could see Bo's journey and their friendship growth and the rise of the Mandalorians. Love it.
Imagine short circuiting yourself to avoid being sold to a moisture farmer, which would have led to it being part of the rebellion, just to get sold to a Mandalorian years later
Looks to me like it's Bo'Katan who got redeemed the most in that episode. She could swing the sword while Din could not, she even went swimming in the pool to save drowning Din and was the one who saw the dragon. This is the way.
You know if Din tames that beast he will be considered the True Mandalore by the True Mandalorians that Jango Fett fought alongside against the Death Watch. Meaning he’d be the closest thing to uniting all of Mandalore given he now has the Dark Saber, a symbol of the Death Watch, and may have a Mythisour!
She trained with it, Din can learn to use it too. I wonder if she will help him now did you see how she looked when din was redoing his oath to the code it looked like admiration to me. I think she realized he is like her father… then the mythasour… omg… not only did they do the thing they kicked the thing in a bang.
I have a theory. I think perhaps the reason Din doesn't wield the darksaber well is because he didn't consider himself a true mandolorian, either consciously or unconsciously, after he removed his helmet. Now that he has been bathed in the Living Waters, I wonder if that mental block will be eliminated and Din will start being able to use the saber more effectively.

Mando did not handle the dark saber because he was conflicted. He was hoping that bathing in the waters would resolve that, and then he would also better use the dark saber.
He was also torn on the fact his cult is different than Bo, and how other mandos exist and take off the helmet, he’s bathing so he’s no longer an exile and can fully raise Grogu as a Mando as he believes he can’t while being exiled whether or not he joins how Bo is and freely takes it off, I believe he’s too proud to “switch” “cults” while currently exiled from his
That spider droid riding creepy alien sounded a heck of a lot like a geonosian. It was super-creepy too. I'm still getting major vibes that some jedi is going to come help Grogu make a Grogu-sized lightsabre and the kyber (or whatever) crystal that calls to him is the one inside the darksaber. I was talking to my partner about it earlier and she said, "Well, he doesn't need a Grogu-sized sabre, he can just pick up the one Din uses with The Force." Mind blown
If I had to take a wild guess, Jay, I'd say that the wings go up like that during the landing process to probably just help slow down the ship by reducing its aerodynamics, thus making it land easier/smoother. It probably also just adds some style points too though. 😂
Something to consider; it was Bo that saw the mythasaur, not Din. This might be a way to redeem her character as the rightful ruler of Mandalore without having to possess the dark saber. I interpret the scene where she is staring at the water and a possible moment of revelation, finally recognizing that the myths and legends that she had written off as a pageantry spectacle, as having a basis in reality. This could be the icon that brings the Mandalorians together again as a people.
To answer Jays question about Bo’s ships wings going up they act like air brakes when landing much like the wings flaps opening up and extending on a Boeing 747 when landing
I also thought it was gonna be a season of just collecting droid parts and doing random quests to get to Mandalore. I'm so glad they skipped past all that.
We’ve also seen a good chunk of the marketing clips already in the first 2 episodes. I think Ezra or Thrawn is coming a lot sooner than most people think
All that's left from the trailer is the children of watch fighting pirates in Navarro, the cloner Dr. Pershing in coruscant, the empire attacking din with advance tie fighters outside of bo Katans castle while he is I'm her ship and order 66 flashback
The look Grogu gave them makes me think they're potentially setting up a Bo - Din love thang. I don't hate it - it would also give them a workaround for having to fight one another for the Darksaber... maybe together they share it without combat and unite the two Mandalorian ideologies, and Mandalore to that end.
@10:32 With the engines being mounted on the wings, the rotation points the engines at the ground for VTOL. Moving the whole set of wings also applies additional atmospheric braking during landing cycles.
"We gotta ham fist two episodes that are just about Ahsoka for no reason following the Boba Fett model" I love that was pretty much said through clenched teeth. Right there with ya Jay...Justice for Boba Fett 🤣
I mean I bet there are plenty of people that know Jawa, most of the Jawa language is a real spoken language from a tribe somewhere in South Africa (I think that's right). If I am remembering correctly, there aren't saying anything it's just gibberish or unrelated phases with a few extra sounds thrown in (and some aftereffects from the sound team), but it is based on and very close to a real language. I want to say Trevor Noah and someone else have even pointed out in interviews that A New Hope has some Jawas just talking about random stuff in some scenes.
First episode was really good but this one was great, the look of the Mandalore and the Mythosaur at the end looked amazing :) Can't wait what happens next :)
Bo has a sweet space sled. She's wizard with that Dark Saber. It actually just gets in Din's way. Grogu was very brave...and obviously stronger. Amy Sedaris is a Star Wars treasure. Mythosaur. Mythosaur. Mythosaur. Hot damn.
The look on your faces at that last shot in the episode was worth the wait. Glad you’re feeling better Jay. Just wait till we get to the Bad Batch. Wednesday on Disney + was a double treat of goodness.

Gentlemen, I watch The Mandalorian every week with my friend Dan....and your reactions to seeing the Mythosaur were exactly the same as ours!! I can't wait!!! You guys continue to bring me joy. 😊
Bo-katan sees Jedi as allies, while The Armorer referred to the Jedi as their enemy. They both see Grogu as a foundling. Grogu IS "THE MANDALORIAN" and I think he will play a role in uniting both sides. And he's gonna ride the mythosaur...why else would they show him overpowering and taming large beasts?
Watching Bo’s reaction when Din began renewing his vows, and then seeing the Mythosaur, makes me wonder if she will now buy into the old ways and bath/renew her own vows, thereby beginning the process to reunite the factions.
You know, a thought just occurred to me, this is only episode 2, with Bo's ease in wielding the darksaber and Din having told himself that he would go back to the Armorer to prove he'd been cleansed of his apparent sin..why do I feel like Bo might go with him and she might end up having to fight the Armorer cus of ya know..the horns. 👽👀🤔
I wish we could get more of that cyborg creature. The fact it was draining Din of his blood has some pretty horrific implications, especially when you see how old all that stuff is in its lair was.

Lolol god when I saw the Video’s screenshot I had to double take cause I REALLY thought it said “Splish, Splash, Daddy’s Takin’ A Bath” lolol and not “Din” lol god I love these two.
the cyborg...thing...wasn't a thing that I recognized or that seemingly anyone has, though it looks a LOT like General GRievous? Like I think he was draining Din (and those Alamite/troglodyte things) for their bio fluids to survive. What he was before is anyone's guess. Boonta Eve though is the holiday about a Hutt? But it was the event that led to the pod race in Episode 1 (Boonta Eve Classic)
Guys, you have heard of Boonta Eve before, in Episose I, The Phantom Menace. Anakin says it's the reason for the pod race. But seriously.... the revelations in this one are crazy! Din finds out that the Armoror was wrong (or lied) about the planet being cursed, and then Bo, who thinks the religion based on the legends, is all a bunch of hooey, sees the Mythosaur!!! So now both of them have just had their long term beliefs altered. Perhaps they just found their middle ground? And then the Dark Saber itself.... being wielded by her so easily! It's all so very intriguing!
The second Bo says her father died defending Mandalore and Din stops to show respect, that was a major moment for me.
Yeah, you can hear it in his voice how he respects the man without ever meeting him.
So was the look Grogu gave her. It was like he was saying I know how you feel. I’ve been there too.

He was also torn on the fact his cult is different than Bo, and how other mandos exist and take off the helmet, he’s bathing so he’s no longer an exile and can fully raise Grogu as a Mando as he believes he can’t while being exiled whether or not he joins how Bo is and freely takes it off, I believe he’s too proud to “switch” “cults” while currently exiled from his
Space Morlocks got told.
The looks on your faces matched the look on mine when I saw the Mythosaur.
Smorelocks ... Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside. 😁
Don't know what that droid is but I think it's supercool and one of the most evil looking droids I've seen in SW!
It may have been a version of a Sentinel biomech Droid Palpatine sent out. I think first appeared in the Heir to the empire novels.
@@ananimaus7683 ooo, nice pull.
If I had to take a wild guess, Jay, I'd say that the wings go up like that during the landing process to probably just help slow down the ship by reducing its aerodynamics, thus making it land easier/smoother. It probably also just adds some style points too though. 😂
I think that Bo and Din need to be co-rulers because they balance each other.
Yes please! Maybe not away, but once Thrawn makes his presence known, their only chance of beating him will be together with Grogu.
Grogu is like a little Professor X with that floaty vehicle
Chuckled you when called the savages Troglodytes...my reaction was "oh great, Morlocks"
Pershing in coruscant, the empire attacking din with advance tie fighters outside of bo Katans castle while he is I'm her ship and order 66 flashback
please Thrawn, still remember him from the old XWing vs Tie Fighter game
Bo's wing design, means the ship can potentially hover in an atmosphere. It's a dropship.
yes it is, it was used to deploy mandalorian warriors in TCW
The look Grogu gave them makes me think they're potentially setting up a Bo - Din love thang. I don't hate it - it would also give them a workaround for having to fight one another for the Darksaber... maybe together they share it without combat and unite the two Mandalorian ideologies, and Mandalore to that end.
That Robot that captures Din was actually designed by Phil Tippett who designed a lot of the original star wars creatures!
Ha, great start - Adam wasn't ready for Jay's "HEY PEACHES!" Love this review. Great episode.
I finished both with a "come on! You can't end like that, I need more!" Both were really good
I doubt many caught the “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah” reference, but I did.
That “ahh man, too much.. HiC..” fade to black took me out 😂😂😭
Jay: what’s the benefit to have the wings go down like that-“
Adam: cuz it’s awesome!
Jay: ya but like.. it’s awesome .. but what’s the bene-
Adam: ITS AWESOME 👀
Jay: but like 👉🏼👈🏻 .. what’s the (peters off)
Gentlemen, I watch The Mandalorian every week with my friend Dan....and your reactions to seeing the Mythosaur were exactly the same as ours!!
You guys are great - and helpful providing background info for some of us (me) who haven’t seen any of animated series.
Watching Bo’s reaction when Din began renewing his vows, and then seeing the Mythosaur, makes me wonder if she will now buy into the old ways and bath/renew her own vows, thereby beginning the process to reunite the factions.
Jay: “Did they explain what’s living about the waters?”
Me: *eagerly anticipates the ending*
14:44 I also said “dalaorian” after Bo’s “great man” and no reactor i’ve watched since the episode game out said it but I knew I could count on Jay

🎵Hello Darksaber my old frieeenndd🎵
🎵I’ve come to wield you once agaaaaiinn🎵
🎵Because my name is Bo-Kataaaann…🎂
Boonta Eve isn't new, it's the festival hosted the pod race that freed Anakin Skywalker.
Boba
Rides a Rancor
Din: "Hold my spotchka"
(now appearing on Mandalore)
I think the reason he sank was yes because the armor is heavy but also because he was weak and just got his blood drained
I wish we could get more of that cyborg creature. The fact it was draining Din of his blood has some pretty horrific implications, especially when you see how old all that stuff is in its lair was.
It may have been a version of a Sentinel biomech Droid Palpatine sent out. I think first appeared in the Heir to the empire novels.
Really was a big couple of weeks for Pedro's kids 😂 they've grown so much
Both of them saved Daddy!
I also can totally believe Amy Sedaris knows Jawa. She's best friends with Stephen Colbert, who taught himself Elvish.
The Simpsons pog reference! I love it! I thought the same thing!! “Remember Alf? He’s back. In pog form.”
3:21 Yep, I was thinking the same thing, "They're really just doing the thing here!"
5:54 I love you guys! 🤣
6:35 I agree!
8:02 Lol! I mean, you do kinda have a point
8:31 yep, it sure is!
12:28 not for long Adam
14:40 Good job Jay!
16:10 This is the moment I've been waiting for, your reaction to this epicness! not dissapointed!
