- In today's furniture makeover I problem-solve an oil stain on the top, which then makes me pivot, get a textured look with latex paint, and use a fabulous peel-and-stick paper. As per usual this furniture flip has it all hope you enjoy the journey xx

Hehe well thanks Brenda. The changing doesn’t bother me but the time I waste when I can’t make a decision does 🤦🏼♀️ usually I’m a quick decision maker but in furniture that doesn’t always happen for me

That piece looks really good, fresher, lighter, pleasing, not dull at all. I own a buffet and server, quite old, from Germany. The wood is dark. I want lighter, but the room needs painting 1st. I will get there but, like you, my vision for the pieces may change. Thanks again, you give me courage.

I loved the first finished version. It’s a busy style and the first coloring made it feel calmer to me. Different strokes for different folks.

Ahhh I’m so glad you said that. Did you mean the greys? I want to do that style and think I have a less detailed piece to do it too. I’m going to tackle it slowly I think (do it in the background while doing other pieces) I’m not super confident about it and think I need to not have the pressure of making it over in a week 😂

Good tip on stepping away from a project for a few days 😉. Love that otomi style paper it’s nice bit of eye candy when you open the doors. Love it!

That was an amazing transformation. I have the exact same furniture from the early 1970’s. I did what you did. The dining room has an antique white base and the bedroom has a light gray base.

Outstanding! Your work always 'sets the bar' quite high - and that is definitely a very good thing. I am not comparing you to other RUclipsrs, I am comparing you to yourself. Your quality and attention to detail never waivers. I once observed someone that utilized wood filler to rebuild a damaged corner top of a dresser. I cringed knowing it wouldn't be stable, especially re moving it. It disintegrated while being loaded into the customer's vehicle. The customer demanded a full refund - rightly so. Mishaps can and will occasionally occur but many can be anticipated and avoided. Love the gorgeous wallpaper! I might need to visit Target.

Lovely! That Honfleur is a really pretty colour but this turned out great once you added the dark wax. :-) PS love the wallpaper detail inside the doors too.

I love that you don't tape!!! This beige color is the best shade of beige! It goes with everything... grey, black, brown, green... just everything.
I definitely try not to tape! I agree with you Sophia I ended up selling it to a lady for her nursery such a great neutral for a baby.

Possibly. My concern was that whatever this was would leach up through the finish I wanted and detract from the top. Once I had decided to change the base to beige I thought I was going to stain the top in a dark walnut but when the wood behind the doors and inside drawers was sanded back and washed I knew I had to do the same to the top 😆

Have you ever thought of or tried pairing it with Annie's Scandanavian Pink? I'm not even sure how they would work together... just wondering what you thought of that combo. Absolutely, appreciate you Jacqlyn. I didn't! Currently using what I have which is Annie Sloan Dark wax. Once that is gone (which maybe a while the jar is huge 😳😆 and don't use a lot) I'll buy the DIY.

Ahhh it does a little! Mum has a lamp shade with some aboriginal art on it for me when I go home. It’s going to be a great reminder of home (not that I need reminding 😂) when I get back and put it in my kitchen
