At 4:58 seconds you can see where it's factory cut out in the carpet behind the seat I didn't realize this either until I laid my seat forward and seeing if they were precut by the factory with little shaped padding behind it still regardless great video
Great video mr. T all my BMR supplies came in for that lowering project on my WS6.. this video shows that it is a very simplistic task for the rear at least..thk u
The rear end of the third gen is about the same as the 4th, at least that is the way it looks to me when I look at my 83 trans am, the front suspension is way different. Great video.
You have to tear the carpet in that section unless someone already did. I wanted to show a method that didn't require carpet cuts. Not that it matters in this car.
TWA Motorsports yea man it’s precut square from the manufacturer that you pull back on to access it,when I did mines on my 2000 camaro last year it had the original shocks on them, still have the original struts I’m dreading that shit 😩

When you guys installed the eibachs springs on the bilstein for the front did you have to compress the springs to install them since they are lowering springs should they just bolt on without having to compress them?
Just gonna go ahead and warn you, I have a 1999 trans am that I bought with eibach lowering springs(not sure which ones) all the way around and I found out the hard way that at least with my car it wears the inside of the front tires out pretty bad! And the camber can't be adjusted enough to fix it. I'm eventually going to get adjustable upper and lower front control arms to fix it. Great videos btw👍
Thank you Jacob. I wonder if you got the sportline springs. Do you know what color they are? That is the only eibach spring I have had trouble with alignment on.
@@TWAMotorsports if I remember correctly, they're black. The previous owner put kyb shock absorbers in the back but I'm still running the original decarbon shocks up front so I know that's not helping and I just rolled over 193,000 miles this morning

Hey bud love the channel most question I had about my 99 camaro you answer. Also are you still going to show us how to fix the problem with the steering wheel being able to be pulled down while locked in?
All you had to do was take the 2 rear side panels out...fold the back seat and lift the carpet to get to the shock bolts. Mines already had a cut out from the factory where the shock bolts go so all I had to do was fold the seat and lift that section of the carpet to get to the bolts. If yours is a 2001 it should have that cut out.
I agree you can do it that way but you have to tear the carpet and its difficult to pull carpet from behind the panels. The method I used keeps you from breaking or messing things up.
It looks real good lowered! Have you had any ground clearance issues around town? I went a different route and put adjustable springs (ground control) on and with long tube headers and cat back system I actually had to raise the car a bit so speed bumps don’t kill the exhaust. But a lowered TA or Camaro is so cool looking!
Bro, wtf? I just found this other video you did other than the TA lowering. I folded down the back seat and made a clean smiley face cut in carpet and exposed top of shock. 2 seconds literally. Can't believe you did all this!?
Hey Travis, I saw the video of you installing the front struts and springs. But did you make a video of you pulling the old ones out? Doing lowering springs, shocks and struts on a friends Trans am and can't figure out how to get them out.
After all was said and done ... were there any squeaks coming from the suspension? Mainly wondering about the reuse of rear spring isolators ... and upper control arms since those sounded creaky in one of the vids. I’m about to overhaul our ‘02 Z28 suspension with OEM height parts. We’ve had it since new and currently has 155K. It’s been squeaking for sometime now from all four corners up high. Only parts I’ve not purchased are new upper control arms and debating if I should at least replace the bushings? Depending on condition once removed I may just pick up the new UMI mount and upper arms. As others have said ... your videos are invaluable and are the best out there! Thanks for providing so many details!
It was probably other things that were squeaking. I generally reuse spring isolators in the rear as they never wear out. In the front at that mileage it would be worth replacing the rubber bushings in the a arm. Especially if they are cracked which you will be able to see.
u said u did the steering rack, so whatd u do about "The Problem Bolt" on the power steering rack? ...thats my next project on my 98 formula & ive heard everything from cutting it with a sawzall, to having to lift the engine to access it? ...& did u do a nylon locknut or red loctite when u put it back in, & did u put it back "upside-down" like some folks say to do? thanx bro
