Sitting down with his hero. Must have been a great moment for Dak. I have seen Troy acknowledge Roger as a leader. You can tell Dak is in awe of Captain America as he calls him. Great Video
I was really not rooting for the Steelers in that Superbowl. And you are correct we did not need to see that Smith dropped pass again. The Cowboys would have beaten them that year.
If you read Time Enough to Win, Roger said it was his fault. He said he didn't throw it as hard as usual, and Smith was expecting the normal incoming missile.
Love both Roger and Dak and i love that both love each other and respect each other, love that Roger wants to help Dak, exceptional moment! Great choice Dak!!!
That's what I was thinking. Lol, that would be awesome. Lamar Jackson and Michael Vick would make sense too, but Vick was already on the show with Deshaun Watson.
I'm 25 years old n I was born a cowboys fan from my grandpa... everyone always talked about the triplets but I loved the staubach era more with my grandpa and his stories of roger the Dodger! My grandpa passed when I was 10 and I continue to watch every game and season knowing how mad my pops would be knowing the losing drought ... still love my cowboys for life!
That’s great man. My dads been watching the cowboys since 69’. I’m one of the only people I know personally that likes the Roger Staubach era better than the Troy aikman era. Great memories were made learning cowboys history from my dad. Good on you for keeping the family tradition strong. And Go Cowboys!
Del Shady McCoy Romo may not havs been quite as mobile as Rodger the Dodger but give him some credit. He was every bit as exciting in his own way. He definitely had some wheels and instincts. I’m not a Cowboys fan but I really enjoyed watching Tony Romo during his time in the league. He was basically my Favre lol.
So awesome to see the present and the past come together and share stories love it . Mad respect for both of you fine Gentleman. Thanks for your passion for the best game ever created .
Roger was great in his time and Dak's great in his. Sure, Dak's obviously bigger and stronger than Roger was but it was also a different time. Roger likely would've been more massive and muscular in today's game himself, especially with modern nutrition and weight training programs. And Dak's right, Roger WAS likely a bit faster. We forget just how athletic and mobile Roger Staubach was. He really helped revolutionize and redefine the position. Roger's footage probably looks more modern than any other quarterback from the 1970s.
Prescott could be better than Staubach. I think he needs to look at what drove Roger to such high standards. If he can figure that out, he could be legendary.
@@agentzeeda4421 No, according to Staubach's biography, Time Enough to Win, he had the winning drive from childhood. He hated losing no matter what it was. Prescott doesn't have that, but he can learn it.
Fun fact Aaron Rodgers is 36-43 against above .500 teams, Kirk is 7-35, Kyler is 4-11, Stafford is 9-65, Herbert 1-5, Drew Brees was 49-66, Dak is 18-24. Be fair in ur judgement don’t hold Dak to a standard that nfl greats can’t even reach js🤷🏼♂️ #onlyspreadingknowledge!!
What is not talked about in 70s, blood, punching after tackle in gut(away from ref), poke eyes, and deliberate physical contact. throwing dirt in eyes, etc etc
I have a cousin who was a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. His name is Danny White he was number 11. I don't know what years he played because he played when I wasn't even born. I was born in 2001 and he played in like the 1980s or something
I'm sorry, but Dak ain't Rodger--- And I get sick of the media makn it look that way. I'm 54 and been A cowboy fan all my life--- But Daks on his 5th year and hasn't even won a playoff game. Let's be real--- When Dak wins at least 1 superbowl, I'll talk about it. ( AND taking 60 million a year on this recent contract didn't help at all--- When you've just come off 3 or 4 losing seasons, and could have used that extra 25-30 million to bring in at least 3 more quality players.
He doesn't deserve what he doesn't earn. Especially after choking in so many playoff games & against good teams. He's no Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman. He's more of a Romo.
It was probably embarrassing in their stories. Like, have you ever did something embarrassing that didn't sound like that in your head? That's probably what these were
That's "Captain Comeback" Dak not Captain America lol I know you mean well but Roger Staubach was known as the Comeback Kid because many times they would be losing and he would somehow comeback and win! A lot of times he did this late in the 4th quarter 💪
Not a Cowboys fan at all matter of fact I hate the cowboys and love watching them lose but like watching current players and players from back in the day going over film this is dope
dally dole Lol, no. The Defense was really bad, but Dak and the offense were terrible. Not as bad as the defense, but still very bad 31-14 in the 3rd Quarter is horrendous
@@Yt_ShadowBannedme not according to his record in big games against good teams, especially playoffs. You can't just cheerlead for players because you like them while ignoring the facts, like Dallas getting knocked out of the playoffs yet again, by a lower tier team. Let's get Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and watch them roast each other for the entire video
Michael I wish 😂😂
Michael that would be a good video
Just watch the episode of Peyton's Places
Michael or drew and eli
Quincy Carter is the goat. Only undefeated player in nfl history
If you were around in the 70's then you know that Staubach was the Freakin' Man!!! Not only a Great QB, but an Exceptional Human being 😎
Flat out clutch QB, Roger the dodger battled Bradshaw, Greasy, Tarkintan and some others. Great time great football. Won so many games late.

Did we really need to be reminded of Jackie Smiths drop

Think that angered Papa Landry and he earned his walking papers with that
