I Contain Multitudes by Ed Yong is also VERY informative. In both cases I read library version first and went to purchase my own copy so I can flip back to remember what I learned
I feel seen!!! I agree An Immense World was an info dump. The content was amazing but I’m not sure I can even regurgitate 10 things without thinking real hard and skimming my highlights in my Kindle. 😫 Best book I read in May was Everest Inc. The Renegades and Rogues Who Built an Industry at the Top of the World.
Added An Immense World to my TBR. In April, I had 2 5 star reads. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang and The Boy You Always Wanted by Michelle Quach. The first has a neurodivergent heroine. In May, my top book was a 4.5 star read - This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron. 🐺
🐕My favorite April-May reads: The Road by Cormac McCarthy, One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London, Middlemarch by George Eliot, and Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley. I really want to check out the Immense World nonfiction book you recommended - sounds fascinating! I hope you have a great June!
I looked up the titles you mention and I added Iona Iverson‘s Rules for Commuting to my library list, it sounds like right up my alley! ☺️ The Road seems to be dividing opinions, I see really good reviews and people who strongly dislike it, interesting! Happy June reading :)
You have such an eclectic range of reading interests!🦒 My library continues to frustrate me with lack of availability of books I am looking for. Maybe my tastes are too offbeat!😂
Thanks for the shout out! Alas, I haven't read Women Talking (yet), so I can't take any credit for helping you pick it up. But while I'm here I'll go ahead and put a plug in for Toews's novel All My Puny Sorrows. 🙂
I Contain Multitudes by Ed Yong is an eye-opening experience to me. I listened to it on audiobook. My problem with audiobook is that I can't retain the information from listening as much as when reading. Hence I plan to get the physical copy one day. An Immerse World has been on my TBR list. Your video encourages me to pick it up soon.
I agree with your thoughts on Women Talking! That’s why I didn’t care for it at all, because the meandering thoughts of the main narrator annoyed me. It could have been excellent but I was letdown.
I read a lovely cozy book in May called The Missing Letters of Mrs. Bright. Not my usual fare but I really enjoyed it! 🐘
I read the premise of this novel, it sounds like a very heartwarming book!

Yes, this makes sense! Plus you can tab and highlight if it’s your own book :)

You must have a high amount of highlights in this book, too many interesting facts 😅
Thank you for sharing I haven’t heard of these before!

@@Nixreads Yes, but it is still annoying!

Ohh now I don’t know who talked about Women Talking, I was so sure it was you😅 ah thank you I haven’t checked out any of her other work yet!
Love this! I am adding An Immense World to my TBR right now 😊
Ah great to hear!! Have you read it yet? I need to catch up on your videos to see for myself haha xx
@@Nixreads I haven't gotten to it yet! My TBR is getting way too long so it might take a few more months to get to it 😅

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one with this opinion - I will watch the movie and hopefully the adaptation is better!
Woman Talking brought to you by a man talking 😅
No shade, I haven’t heared of this book before but it reminded me of a commercial voice xdxd
Omg that’s hilarious 😂 and spot on how I felt hahaha
