Absolutely stunning performance. The composition, room, Erard and Mustel are artfully arranged and executed. Thank you for sharing this video, your Mustel is a rare treasure.
A presto, buona Musica! GG
Ciao, grazie mille. It is so beautiful to hear this music Eventhough in my own lanaguage it is hard to express, to say how I feel it. Thank you, grazie, for sharing it with me. Salutti del Messico Capitale!!!!!!
Grazie!...
Indeed very beautiful this Largetto by #mozart performed on a Edard piano from 1847 and Mustel Harmonium Celeste from 1897 by Carlo Palese and Claudio Brizi. The latter is the owner of both historical instruments. #harmonium #piano
I'm moved! You wrote: "my heart stops". Your comment brings me back into the Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia near Rome. The atmosphere there is unique and I remember very well my emotional status during the performance. Just after the last note, I said: "Incredible music, beautiful place...my heart stops!". Many thanks.
Thanks! To be exact both instruments belong to my private collection. Anyway you're right: this room is incredible. Here, between the late XVII and early XVIII, Pasquini, Scarlatti and Corelli played their works. And, near 7:00, look the Gian Lorenzo Bernini's red pencil sketch! The whole Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, close to Rom, is beautiful. If you come to Italy you must spend a day here. After the visit you can go to eat some "porchetta". What is "porchetta"? Come to discover by yourself!
Thanks for appreciation. Anyway, I think that the purpose of a transcription is not to reproduce specific sounds or colours, but show a different side of a work. The goal is to wear a musical structure in an instrumental idiom different than the one given by the composer himself. Ravel in the "Pictures" didn't search a piano imitation nor Stravinsky in the piano solo version Petrushka tries to imitate the colour of English horn. Two harmonium would be very good, but I have only one Mustel! Ciao!
The harmonium-Célesta is a hybrid instrument containing both harmonium and celesta. In this clip I seldom play the (second manual, eg in pianissimo from 0:45). If you go on this channel to the Liszt's Berceuse or/and Bizet's Ronde Turque you can listen the whole instrument played as it is. One more hybrid keyboard instrument is the claviorgan: Try to discover the claviorgan sound by clicking Zipoli or Bach. Ciao!
How does a harmonium-celesta differ from a harmonium ... aside from it obviously being larger? Really, a very lovely transcription. I definitely prefer it "as is" ... rather than some other combination of keyboard instruments.
Wow! I had wondered if that was the case, or just a matter of "creative naming." It's not particularly easy to identify any sort of celesta sound against the piano. I will listen to the other videos. Thank you!
Many thanks! If you like, go to listen my claviorgan (Zipoli Partite in C) or take a look on them (Bach with flute o with Indian dance...). Ciao from Italy!
It is almost as nice as the original clarinet quintet. The harmonium can exactly imitate the sound of the clarinet, but a piano cannot sound as a string quartet. Better would be an arrangement for two harmoniums, or for harmonium and organ with a soft reed stop.
Eccezionale duo. Grazie!
Une superbe interprétation pour cette belle musique.
Compliments
André
Quale meraviglia!
Just splendid. Thank you Claudio Brizi!
Original et magnifique.
Stupendo, bravissimi. Encore!

As usual you kept me glued to my seat, a bit entranced.

Wonderful! Bravi!
Bravissimo, maestri!
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for your message on my website pointing me to this great video. And thank you for this video and performance.
Very nice. Thanks
Beautiful, that's all that I can now say. Now I know what piece to learn next for harmonium and piano. Thank you for posting this excellent recording.

❤Grande Maestro🌹

Absolutely beautifully played! Love the organ/piano combo.
Grazie, Prof.Rikk.
Thank you!
Touching!
... ma che trascrizione fantastica!
Wonderful *************
Fantastisk , Claudio Brizi tar harmoniumet til nye høyder.

Grand Piano Erard (Paris, 1847 from my collection). 100% original, Identical to the most beloved piano by Liszt.
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! Loved it! What kind of piano is that? The music is so together.

Eccellente
I believe this is the piece that inspired the middle movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G.

Prego!
