- Thank you for watching the video.
This video is from June 18th in Port O’Connor, Texas. I had a great time and great luck fishing, a big turnaround from my previous adventures.
About this trip. We went about 25 miles offshore, depending on where you measure from. If you measure from the surf side of the big jetties it is 23.5 miles if you measure from the bay side it is 25. The coordinates of the location are N 28 06.784’ W096 14.774’, depth was 92 feet, this is an old shipwreck. The floating red gas can was dropped by another boat and served as a marker so we could drift from south to north and have a quick reference back to the buoy. I am going to use this idea but I am going to purchase an actual buoy and not use a gas can. We were using dead finger mullet caught the day before. The waves going out were rough, about 4-5, but they were very close together which made the ride much more difficult. On the way back in the waves were more spread out so it was a much smoother ride.
I have started a website, www.texaspwcfishing.com, where I will post more information and pictures as I get time. It is currently viewable but there is not much on it as I have just started building it. As time goes on it will have more and more information posted.

Late June or early July, headed to Rockport area to see what I can find
Mid July, headed to Louisiana to see if I can get to the Midnight Lump or Sackett Bank, to see if I can catch some Black fin or Yellow fin tuna. If anybody is interested in making the trip please let me know by email
Later in July headed back to the Rockport area to see if I can find some fish hanging out near the shrimp boats offshore. There could be tuna in there.
Occasional trip to local area lakes to see what I can find.

How cool.
Nice. Waiting on mine !
yup, that was you I saw on the Laura. It was a little choppy that morning, but was super nice by the end of the day. Way cool!!
Thanks for watching.
It was a choppy morning but the ride in was great. If you see me out there again please don’t hesitate to stop and say hello. Hope to see you out there.
Nice. We have the same reel I think
Very nice. Can’t wait to be out there myself. I have one of these fish pro trophy’s myself and they are excellent machines.
Have enjoyed the Trophy, for sure. Any issues? I've had low voltage issues with mine, and last trip out it got weird. Kept dropping from F to N when idling along, even dropped to N from trolling mode after a while. Then started getting and engine "stumble" at speed down the lake. Scared the crap outta me, so I dragged it to the dealer to have them check it all out. May have shot the last of my season in the butt. We're starting to cool down fairly quickly, and I'm old and wimpy! Have ordered an upgrade for '23. Swapping up to a Switch Cruise 18'. Easier to take my dog along, as well as can get more bikini clad females on it!
You should bring a net. Or practice your close quarters maneuvering. These are way easier then boats to move around
do you go out there alone and just park near other boats are do you follow them out. I don't think I would want to be 25 miles out without some support.
Help and thank you for watching.
I have gone out many times alone but I don’t just show up at the ramp and say “Oh, let’s go offshore 25 miles today”. Whenever I go offshore alone I plan what I am doing, where I am going and how long I’ll be out. I make sure to relay all of that information to someone who knows me and would be worried about me if I do not tell them I am back by a specific time. I also make sure my gas tank is full, my radio is charged, my phone is charged and all of my emergency kit is in working condition. I also make sure my ski is in working condition. If I have any problem with any of it I postpone my trip until it is fixed.
Can things still go wrong, sure, but if you plan for the worst you will be prepared. Plan for the worst but hope for the best. Emergency gear is always a pain to maintain and keep, that is until you need it.
Hope this helps,
Jeff
Is the limit only two fish? Seems like a long way to go for so few fish?
Hello and thank you for watching.
Yes, federal limit is 2 red snapper per person per day. The trip is long but it is mostly about the adventure and not always the destination.
I have a great time going out, finding fish, making the videos and sharing my experiences with others. I might only get 2 fish, if I’m lucky, but I have a great time doing it.
Thanks again for watching, more content is coming.
Jeff
Which reef were you at? I just got a 23ft cc and I’m trying keep the fuel bill down is why I’m asking lol
Hello Chris and thank you for watching.
If you look at the video description I put the Lat/Long of the wreck I was on. You will need to maneuver around a little to find the actual wreck using your sonar, should be around 92ft deep.
Good Luck.
@@texaspwcfishing6676 Thank you sir!! have that spot marked on my Navionics app now! I noticed the "Liberty ship is 8.5 NM ENE of there. Have you had a chance to fish that yet?
👍🌊⛵🎣💯
Yeah, that boat was a little to close for comfort.
Thank you for watching.
We were all drifting around the same wreck. Everybody was polite and respectful, it was a real pleasant experience.
