I remember when EA promoted NHL2003, they published those cut scene renders that featured some amazing new animations that ended up not being possible in gameplay. It was so disappointing when the game came out and the gameplay was pretty much the same. This was the year I really got into 2K. I will say, EA releasing on PC always kept me playing, because of the mod community. Loving this series. I just had a flashback... I played someone online in NHL2003 PC, and after the game they typed "gg" to me. I replied "I gotta go, too, good game". Because I thought gg meant "gotta go".
i am looking forward to nhl 2004 vs nhl 2k4 comparison video, hopefully this year it will happen. its been 2 years and 16 months of waiting for the next episode of the cold war series.
Glad to see these videos might be coming out more consistently. I played NHL 2K3 for the first time very recently and honestly, I’ve been enjoying it. This is where 2K really starts taking over in terms of depth. Wish there were more jerseys though.
Unpopular opinion: This NHL 2003 is so CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED IMHO! I freaking love NHL 2003 and one of best parts of the game is the commentary team of Jim Houston and Don Taylor, so FUNNY and ENTERTAINING! They brought back the NHL cards feature from the previous installment and it’s better than ever with the addition of cheats and easter eggs! And I’m probably one of the few people who love the gamebreaker meter in the game! Don’t forget the behind the scenes videos of the making of NHL 2003! It’s so much fun and replay value than today’s NHL video games! We more people talking about this game soon or later! I miss the old EA Sports so much! But I will admit that NHL 2K3 is one of the best hockey games that has ever existed! I can’t wait to play it again since it’s been a while I played it as an adult recently!

Good times growing up in this Era. While EA was almost always the go to, I think 2k had unique features.
What? 2K owned this era. NHL 2004 is the only standout.

The exact same 10 year career mode was in NHL 2002 it was just called season mode instead of franchise mode.
