That intern-to-be has a lot of guts. But it is really a great way to be noticed.

@@muvaofpearl I don't think so because I think that he was aware that Stephen might refuse as much as approve. The real decision is made by the interviewer, and the trick is to put yourself ahead of the other candidates.

it was correct for Stephen to not simply give in to audience pressure because you really need to check the people you are to work with, you can't hire them blindly.

An intern is supposed to follow orders , a writer is the only one who can be bold and try stunts like this with the host. Having an intern attempting this ,is volatile and not a good thing for a show that needs to be working on such a tight schedule. 🤷🏻♂️

jlbueno0611 - That would have been mean and would have ruined the mood (and probably turned the audience against him). Steven is classy and wouldn’t do that.
And set the precedent that other aspiring Late Show applicants should pull that stunt? Not a great idea, unless you want to ruin Q&A forever.
I think a girl already did something like this in a previous Q&A but wanted to be a writer. If he hired him the audience will be filled with people trying to asking for jobs.
I love that the audience now comes prepared with tricky questions and have as much fun trolling Stephen as he does.
