Thanks for the info but,in my country 99 percent we use inktank printer's Brother.very nice no hassle ,permanent head not like hp,cannon replacing head..we recommend because ,we already tested after 4 yrs you buy bottle inks very cheap 😊
Awesome did not also know RTINGS did printer reviews and although I have a brother this would not be something that would work for me. Great to see a lady on the video too. Keep up the good work :)
My MCF J4335DW worked great until I replaced the black cartridge. After installing the new cartridge no black nodes printed on the test print. After a cleaning all but a few printed but it seems odd that all nodes wouldn't print with a new cartridge. Can the print heads be replaced in this model separate from the cartridges?
I used to use an Epson ET-2550 ruclips.net/user/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.
Your tests should include does it still print after not using it for 2 days, had that issue with a Canon G2260, worked when ink was fresh printed two photos, 2 days later it dispersed no ink, blank paper in blank paper out.
Hey Bill, thanks for the feedback. This is something we've been discussing recently, so we'll absolutely consider this for future updates to our testing!
I would not recommend the Canon Pixma TR8620. You have to open the flap in the front in order to print which is a problem when the cheap hinges break like in my case. I can't print because the printer thinks the flap is closed when its open. I have had this printer for little over a year, so do not buy the Canon printer.
Are any new ink tank all in one printers, with fax function, coming in the 2022 model year? Perhaps from Brother, Epson or others as printers for home office use are rather lacking with features that are several years old.
Brother printers are good quality but their colours are almost always off and more importantly, their ink is crazy expensive. Their high yield cartridges end up costing well over $100 and last half as much as they claim.
@@vlun1215 I think you can. If you can see the ink, you can add to it. Maybe drill a tiny hole if there's no access. Then find some tape and degrease before applying it. Or just get a laser printer. (Get a laser printer)
I have this printer and every time it is switched on it automatically cleans the heads, and this uses loads and loads of ink. Is that what it is supposed to do? If not, what do I do to stop it wasting expensive ink in that way?
Hi Tony, The printer automatically starts a cleaning if it detects there's a problem, but we're not sure if this is a feature that can be turned off unfortunately. Normally, we'd look into this for you, but we're doing a lot of testing and retesting, so we're not sure when we'd be able to. So, in the meantime, it might be best to touch base with the manufacturer for technical support. Sorry about that!
Inkjet printers heads can and will dry. Dried in ink can be very hard to remove. Therefore, most inkjets do a small cleaning round once a day. This costs a tiny bit of ink, but this hardly shortens the life of your ink cartridge. It will however, greatly lengthen the life of you printer heads and therefore your printer! Keep the printer plugged in at all times, like it says in the manual, so it can do it's daily routine. It uses very little power and ink to do that. The alternative is worse.
Unfortunately, there's no real way to say for sure how long they'll last as everyone's experience will be different and can vary due to all sorts of factors. You could get 5 years or something could happen within a year. Sorry about that!
This printer uses a cartridges that empties out the ink into the printer similar to an EcoTank, it a hybrid of the two models. But they aren't refillable unfortunately and you'll have to purchase new cartridges!
Beware as the phone/fax settings are NOT intuitive! Mine keeps answering phone calls as faxes. I've ever turned off the fax mode but from time to time it switched to faxes. Very confusing phone fax interface. Had another Brother multi with same features and turned off it worked. Also function commands, buttons not intuitive.
after seeing error 46, I go into maintenance mode , and I cannot enter code 80 in maintenance function? the "8" does not work, "8" does not register ..........do you have a solution? ? Thanks
They are ALL pieces of crap. Bought an expensive Brother printer. After 3 months of very little use. Ink cartridges NEVER worked properly. Bought the large new packages of ink 3 separate times. All 3 never worked correctly. Tried every suggestion under the sun, from online & the company website to fix the issues. Still none of the cartridges work. (brother ink cartridges, NOT knock offs). Gave up on printing. Kept the printer just to do scanning & if nothing else, since I can't print anything or make copies, at least I could scan images & print them some place else. Does NOT even scan images correctly. Images come out like the old massive office copy printers. Tried every hack, fix & suggestion to fix it. NOTHING!!!! SPENT UPWARDS OF $500 on this poor excuse of a company. Now, I won't have the money for a loooong time to spend again on another printer. The word "anger" falls completely short of how utterly enraged I feel for being screwed out of my money & a printer. THIS COMPANY IS ONE BIG SCAM!!! It should be absolutely ILLEGAL to do this to anyone, because it is nothing short of CRIMINAL!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy anything but Brother. I am now printerless for a long foreseeable future because of these S.O.B.s And I REALLY REALLY REEEEEALLY NEEDED A PRINTER!!!! Don't let them do it to you too.
You say you review printers, yet this is the only printer review on the channel? I'm looking for a new home LaserJet to replace my old HP Inkjet that isn't supported by Windows 10/11 anymore unless I used generic drivers that don't support many of the old features I had on Windows 7. Keep the printer reviews coming please. ... and keep the great work on Monitors too. I'm waiting for that new LED Asus PG42UQ monitor to hit the stores. Be nice if you cold get a review on it first.
Brother is real Japanese quality but the problem with them is they feed the paper in a non standard way and it's prone to paper jams especially as it gets older when the rollers get dirty. I think Canon is better for paper feeding. I would avoid Epson and HP altogether.
You're right, printer availability has been hit quite hard with the pandemic, so it could be hard to find a lot of them in stock. I'm not sure where you're located but it seems to be available at Staples here in Canada. It looks like you can purchase it from Office Depot as well in the US!
brother support is garbage. this printer is okay but the menu navigation is a living hell. the engineer who program these menu should be fired! no more brother printers for me. GARBAGE
Nothing about mobile printing. This installation is a catastrophy. 3 apps are necessary. And if you want print mobile the app opens the play store for the service app (???). No mobile printing is possible using smartphone. What a horror of steps and error messages. My Epson needs only one for all and was installed in 15 minutes.
We talk a little bit about mobile connectivity/printing in the full review on our website, so it may be worth checking it out. www.rtings.com/printer/reviews/brother/mfc-j4335dw We could definitely spend more time talking about it though, so we'll pass this feedback along to the rest of our team. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
Actually, we test products in 12 different categories! TVs, headphones, monitors, soundbars, mice, keyboards, printers, vacuums, blenders, speakers, cameras, and laptops!

finally a nice video on a printer review, TKS

Yes, ma'am no all models of New A3 and A4 brother is great quality. And fast printing, very durable.. Easy to use.

How do you clean the printheads on this printer? I go to Settings but there is no maintenance option.
You are watching a review of a printer to avoid thinking about everything else. Welcome. This your life now!
What are you talking about?
Biden and Fauci are doing a STELLAR job.
Well fucking duh.
Hey don't ruin it for me 😁

I hear you can refill them yourself with liquid ink ... researching now.

How long do these last?
We've had one for more than 5 years and it's quality tanked all of a sudden

Can you refill the cartridges?
Unfortunately not, you’d need to replace them!
Will the printer still work if I only install the black ink cartridge?
Unfortunately not. If even one cartridge is missing or runs out of ink, you'll need to replace it before the printer lets you print anything else.
My old printer it felt like I got maybe half a dozen prints and it would need one of the ink cartridges replacing.
All I wanna know is how many nits does this printer put out, does it support dolby vision?
Unfortunately, this printer lacks Dolby Vision support at this time ;)
What is the european version model?
Can you refill the ink cartridges?

Where is the automatic document feeder? I do not see one.
I see it built into the top but am just installing it.
Great Pruduct , for other country? Is that product can buy in Nepal? if not which is best same like this product for nepal? please.
We’re not sure about availability in other regions, sorry about that!
Very good review. Thanks
I do not know why you would not compare another brothers printer for photos instead of a con on printer
Can you scan a document to a pdf?
Yes it can!

Hey Pringals,
As Mike Metagross mentioned, we've published over 100 printer reviews on our website!
