the plaintiff went on the peoples court because he knew that he sells items online under fake names and nobody ever sees what he looks like so he probably believed that appearing on tv was not gonna matter to his shady business .
The defendant was all over it with the investigations. Clearly had done his research. I don't understand why he wasn't as thorough in researching the plaintiff BEFORE buying the jersey.
of course he probably already sold it by now , this case was probably around a decade ago . and who knows if the defendant was gonna try to sell it himself at a later date because he did not give the jersey back without being sued for it .
It would have been sweet justice if the Judge had said that the jersey could only go back to John Turneau (sp?) or only John could sue for the return, since that's who the defendant conducted the transaction with.
Googled the dudes name and one of the top results was that game used forum that was evidence and they're openly hating this dude. They're keeping track of every username he uses. Looks like there's also been multiple lawsuits before and after this episode!
Yep. It's actually really sad. I've seen thousands of Facebook groups dedicated to taking down people that have scammed so many people. They reach out to file reports and give the evidence and half the time, nothing is done about it. People have to do their research BEFORE buying items. Usually, they don't learn about it until after. With COVID people took advantage with the online buying. Making false claims and sending empty packages. It's sad.
I'm guessing based on all the different complaints, the investigation extends beyond this one jersey. He's selling fraudulent items across state lines for thousands of dollars, I'd bet there's a federal case out there.
I scrolled past this case a few times. I'm glad I finally watched! Defendant was ready for whatever and plaintiff so uncomfortable he didn't know what to do. He said he just wants his money, in the hall he says i just wanted my jersey back
If the plaintiff is not a forger, and all this is false, he should sue for defamation, but I’m sure he won’t because what the defendant is stating is correct.
Plaintiff says the defendant is delusional....I think the Plaintiff is a fraud and delusional...if you keep telling yourself lies you end up believing its the truth....
There's a local DJ who says he's responsible for about 25% of the Paul McCarney autographs out there. He said at KROC in LA in the 70s, they would sit in the break room signing Beatle albums for contest giveaways. He did thousands of them. It's kind of funny how apathetic he is about doing it.
That jersey is hanging in some dudes game room and he's telling his buddies it was a Tom Brady game jersey he got for $3,500. LOL Trust me it was sold within a month after this show.
Why would the guy give the money back if he's a con artist and the jersey is fake, they don't do that when ripping someone off....also if its fake why not give it back when the police don't even think it's worth keeping as evidence and the authentication was not deemed fake....not sure what to believe!
Plaintiff's dishonesty was apparent from the beginning when he talks about this John guy who lists things for him (why?) but apparently couldn't come to court as a witness. But JM is right that if the defendant got his money back, he has to give the jersey back. A real shame how people like the plaintiff rip off sports fans by making them think they can have a piece of their favorite team.
I think the judge got it wrong. The key point is the jersey is a licenced product. The authentication company showed it was altered. I believe that would violate the license, just like a fake l.v. she spoke of.
I disagree... remember who was being sued and why. The defendant was being sued because he got $3500 refunded but wouldn't return the jersey. The authenticity/licensing technically would only affect JM's judgement if the defendant got rid of it, forcing her to assess how much it was worth. Whether it was authentic or not, the defendant wasnt entitled to keep the product and the money
With the LV, she passed off the fake bag to the authorities to handle but in this case, the jersey was already handled and returned. It's why she asked why he didn't refuse to take it back. If he hadn't accepted it back, it would've been tossed or destroyed and he wouldn't have to return it but because he got it back, it showed that the cops weren't interested enough to keep for investigation or prosecution. She's right; there's nothing she could do because if the cops don't want it, then it has to go back regardless of if it's altered or forged.
@johnpeters9793 first, excellent question. I did a horrible job in my comment at explaining my position. I agree with the verdict. My disagreement comes from the point she made about how she handles fake merch by ordering their surrender. My point was the jersey was altered according to the authentication company. If the jerseys weren't available to the public (I believe the judge said that) it would mean either the jersey is a fake or it's a licenced product that was altered. Either way to my way of thinking it's a fraud. Sorry for the rant, it's just so infrequently I disagree with judge m.
So wait...People will litereally buy the clothes off a sports player's back?? Like, AFTER THEY SWEATED IN IT? I know people will buy these, but I wouldn't think they'd buy them dirty or covered in sweat. Or if they did, they'd be washed right after!
Is the judge that naïve?… I’m sure the jerseys are clean they just happen to be worn and then you ask the man if he’s smelling their jerseys? How does your office smell? What is she talking about?
Milian right from the beginning kept on interrupting and barging in as the plaintiff spoke. I'm glad that he went on giving his testimony without being derailed by him. Same with the defendant. She's annoying man. Always was!
You have an odd hobby of after-the-fact defending known criminals and scammers. It's your right to do it, but wow it gives off a really bad optic. Wouldn't you rather be known for having an eye for justice than someone who races to praise losers and criminals? Just seems weird.
The defendant was not playing with the plantiff. I know the plantiff regretted coming to court.
the plaintiff went on the peoples court because he knew that he sells items online under fake names and nobody ever sees what he looks like so he probably believed that appearing on tv was not gonna matter to his shady business .
This defendant is my hero. Dude came PREPARED. 😂👏🏻
He had 2 years.
Clown
The defendant was all over it with the investigations. Clearly had done his research. I don't understand why he wasn't as thorough in researching the plaintiff BEFORE buying the jersey.
@@JayJay-me8zkmaybe becos his suspicions arouse after purchasing the item.
Even John Turneau was impressed! 😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂
The sad part is the Plaintiff thinks someone actual believes him. One day he's going to cheat the wrong person and have an unpleasant outcome.
Now why tf would the plaintiff bring this on national TV smh 😂😂😂
Because he was stupid and did not think the defendant would bring any evidence.
Because he's a narcissist and con artist. They always think they can get away with their con
Because he truly believes himself and just doesn't get it.
Maybe he will try to sell it as fake Tom Brady jersey that was on The People’s Court 😊
LOL

Yes. That is a great idea
Plaintiff is an absolute con artist.
1000%. He talks in circles. The behavior of a con artist.
3700 for a used tee shirt ohh my gosh! I could find a lot of things to use that money for
Agreed.
A T-shirt worn by Tom Brady could potentially appreciate in value with time.
Seriously lol
What next there used toilet paper...🤮
Depending on the game he wore it, could go for a lot more. Sports collectibles are valuable. Ever seen home run balls go at auction?
The plaintiff is a little weasel.lie to you while looking right at you!!!

Lol plaintiff came in proud
Came out EMBARRASSED 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
If the FBI and police are investigating, why does he still have possession of the evidence? I'm glad she questioned that.
correct
It sounds like they closed the case after he got repaid. Hence the guy no longer having a warrant out against him.
Ask the FBI
I'm guessing based on all the different complaints, the investigation extends beyond this one jersey. He's selling fraudulent items across state lines for thousands of dollars, I'd bet there's a federal case out there.
The plaintiff is playing a dirty game, he's going to get hurt.
I scrolled past this case a few times. I'm glad I finally watched!
Defendant was ready for whatever and plaintiff so uncomfortable he didn't know what to do. He said he just wants his money, in the hall he says i just wanted my jersey back
Plaintiff looks like he's not telling the truth. His body language 😮
The Defendant was basically a lawyer on the down low with all the receipts. 😀
Or a private investigator
This defendant was not playing , he did his research and made the plaintiff look like FRAUD .
Apparently he tried to sell the jersey again after the court case.
Your kidding. Where did you see this.
@@cassandra6710 Do a google search "steven misturini" There are a couple reports about it.
@cassandra6710 If you Google the plaintiff and nydailynews there is an article from May 2013 all about it 🙂
Plaintiff is a nutcase certified.
This is of the most interesting episodes I have seen, to date. I say one. Others are just for entertainment. This dude was exposed. 👏
Authentication on something like that can be more complicated than Calculus , I wouldn't buy things like that 💯
Absolutely
Love the defendant, he's so prepared 💥💥
If the plaintiff is not a forger, and all this is false, he should sue for defamation, but I’m sure he won’t because what the defendant is stating is correct.
Defendant was awesome & prepared
People with WAY too much money. Think of the good you could do with 1/4 of the collection of these two. They should be ashamed.
Buying anything of value from Craigslist was his first mistake.
All this over a used shirt.
This case took a turn Damn lol.
THE FBI?!
He's a mysterini
now he can resell It saying “as seen on people court”😂
😂
All eyes shifted to the defendant as soon as the FBI was mentioned....😂
Defendant : Comic Book Guy
0:44 "He's a HUUUUUGE Patriots fan!" Curt wasn't kidding
This is exactly what I mean when I say “We’re making rich people richer” I guarantee neither of these guys has more money than Tom Brady

Good case!
The plaintiffs body language screams deception 🤔
The plaintiff actually turn up to court 😂😅😂 now he's out t
sports fanatics are a strange lot
GEZZ! no kidding the guy is a "HUGE"PATRIOTS Fan!
Idc if he sold a fake jersey or not. The fact the defendant complained hot his money back and wouldn't give the jersey back that was bullshit fr
Yes, let's give the counterfeit goods to the known thief LOL
Why give it back? He could just try selling it again.
Oh yes the crook should get it back to scam someone else with!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
The defendant wanted this to go to court so the all sports memorabilia collectors will see this guy face.
This dude is sliiiiiiiiimy.
The bafoonary
Buffoonery- “bafoonary” is not a word.
Thank you @@Samirah313
I wish the defendant had filed a countersuit.
For what?

He’s full of it. You don’t have hundreds 🤦🏻♀️
And of course as the case goes on, he’s a fraud. Lol surprise
The defendant passed away less than six months after this episode aired.

My condolences.
So sad. September 22, 2013
I believe the plaintiff is a cheat.
Sad, when the first 2 people Harvey asked whos jersey theyd want said Kobe, not knowing a few years later he wouldnt be here anymore!

You wouldn’t sell authentic stuff like that on Craigslist. That’s the first huge red flag.

returning the money got the warrant dismissed.
You should have listened closer.
and he didn't give it back because he didn't want the crook selling it to someone else and ripping them off.
again - you should have listened closer.
Anyone that would pay more even one cent for a player's shirt doesn't have any excitement or prospects in their own life.
