    Really glad you guys are making these tech videos. Are you going to be doing any Ultimate LS setup videos and tech tips? I can see all of the videos are very much relatable to the LS system.

    So I’m going through the tech Tuesday videos and learning so much more than what is even mentioned in the installation and instructions. Here is my biggest question, is there a stock setup to reference for a Stock 4.3 Vortec? Mentioning locking out the timing really needs to be more stressed in the instructions.

    So is loop rate up how fast the idle raises and loop rate down how fast the idle goes down

  • @sirenswhispering

    Somewhere you mentioned that fitech needed to reach the 170 F, then the warming up idle will be operated, how can i reached the warm up idle before factory default temp? I should decrease the number of loop rate down?
    Another one, i set the rev limit rpm for 4.3 engine to 4.800 and i sent it to ecu, but after every start it came back to 6600, or i disabled the fan because i don't use external or electronic fan but every time fitech return it to enable.

      Sounds like the loop rate is too high.

    • @FiTechEFImedia
      @FiTechEFImedia  Год назад +1

      This would likely be due to a vacuum leak.

    • @FiTechEFImedia
      @FiTechEFImedia  Год назад

      Sounds like there’s a vacuum leak. On the bottom of our intakes there are vacuum ports, be sure that they are plugged up if you are not using them.

    Been running mine for two years now And has been flawless till today the wife called me and said the truck was running horrible. when she got home it was idling so rich it was stinking up the garage. I checked my bolts on the exhaust near the sensor made sure they were tight. So now what? Runs great till it Idles down then runs very rich.

      Check out the video on INITIAL SETUP. The second part of the video shows the IAC adjustment. It is done the same on all FiTech systems, just the throttle adjustment screws are in different locations. On the LS its next to the throttle cable cam.

    My engine won’t idle. It only runs if I keep my foot on the peddle with the TPS reading 16.0 or more. And when I take my foot off the peddle, the engine immediately dies. How can I resolve this issue?

      @@Frankegrenke so talked to someone just now and really helpful. Went through settings and rebooted. Tried to get to idle with him on the phone. He said could be map sensor getting a poor vacuum reading according to what it is doing and the map reading 96 to 99 while on the gas at 500 to 600 rpm. Im going to see what was sent to my email right now.

    • @Frankegrenke

      Doc.Cali My engine only builds about 3 inches of vacuum (.600 lift cam) but I haven’t been able to find a setting to adjust for that besides the 1-4 cam setting. I may just hook my laptop up to it to see if I can get anywhere that way.

    Thinking the loop rate might be part of my hunting idle when I first start. It surges to the point of almost stalling but then recovers, does this till it’s warmed up.
    My AFR goes to high 15’s lows 16’s as it’s about the stall before recovering. IAC steps are 3-4 when it’s warm with both fans off. I tried increasing after start fuel and that didn’t seem to help so I set it back to where it was.
    Thinking I should try loop rate down. Thoughts??
    1200PA system if it helps.

      I had similar issue in my stick car, my loop down was 23 & would always goto zero & almost stall when I come to a stop. I lowered loo down to 13 & ita a very noticeable improvement.

      Loop Rate UP = The IAC uses a PID (actually just PI) closed loop control that adjusts the steps to
      achieve the desired idle speed. This value controls how quickly it can open the IAC in response to a
      lower RPM, using the “I” (integrator) of the PID.
      Loop Rate Down = The IAC uses a PID (actually just PI) closed loop control that adjusts the steps to
      achieve the desired idle speed. This value controls how quickly it can close the IAC in response to a
      higher RPM, using the “I” (integrator) of the PID.
