I have a random question for you Chris: What do you think of using puhi as bait? As a kid we used to pull up a lot of eels but I never thought to use the for bait cause I reasoned the fish would be scared of the puhi scent in the water. In a number of other videos I've seen on RUclips people have been using it as bait, though I've never seen them catch anything with it. Do you have any experience with this? And if so, would you recommend dental floss or miracle thread to fasten it to the hook?
Love the video Chris, however. If you take off the crabs claws how will it survive if it doesn’t get eaten after you used it for bait and you release it?
Yes it will, they grow back extremely fast. I release everything in the place i fish & have actually re-caught the same crab (i put a X on them to see if i re-catch them).

Does the polyester string have the same stretchiness as the nylon?

Puhi works. Yes, use dental floss to secure it better.
