Oh man this is giving me major flashbacks to our recent Japan trip. Wife and I stayed at the Caption Osaka for 5 nights in mid August! We were on the 9th floor as well. We paid 20,500 Hyatt points for 5 nights, which is an absolute steal for this place! Great review, we will be back here again as well.
@@MaxMilesPoints ah I see, we were there Aug 15-20, so yup looks like just missed y'all. It was our first time in Japan. Weather was extremely humid/hot, but apart from that we had a great trip. Now our plan is to return around Oct-Nov 2025 for fall weather/foliage.
Been waiting for a review on this hotel.. I’ll be there for 4 nights in November! Booked for 6.5k per night and I agree it is a great value.. can’t wait!
Was there in early August and really liked it. New, well designed, great staff. Located right next to the Namba district, and a steal at 5000 pts/nt. My only complaint was that the cafe didn’t have a lot of food options, and the few they did have were about 2-3x what you’d pay at the nearby minimart.
Nice Job, Stayed at the Grand Opening at Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda for free on points as a Hilton Diamond Member. Umeda is the place to check out in Osaka! My hometown.
@@MaxMilesPoints thanks Max! Didn’t know just a filter worked. Some people noted it might interfere with the lens protruding in and out. Do you have a link to your filter or the name of it?
I use my knuckles when touching public buttons too! This hotel is toooooo cute! I'd definitely stay here when I return to Osaka. Thanks for the room tour
looks very nice. Osaka used to have a Hyatt Regency on the west side near Universal Studios and a convention center, which is nice if you plan on doing stuff over there but is quite out of the way otherwise... 100% agree the hotel won't last at Cat 1 long, especially with the exceptional location and what appears to be very nice facilities.
all the cat 1 hyatt hotels in asia are much nicer than cat 5 hyatt hotels domestically in the US. i've stayed at tons of them all across asia on points, and i've been impressed by every single one, no exception.
I kinda wanted to stay there on our recent trip to knock out Caption, but it was sold out and we were already booked at the Park Front Universal Hotel. I didn't know about the minimum stay thing. We were only in town for two days.
I’m not 100% sure on the minimum stay on award nights or if it’s still a thing for the Caption. that’s just what I noticed when I was doing some test searches a couple months ago
Great review! What an awesome deal. I was checking the breakfast and it didn’t really seem to have any vegetarian options. Do you happen to know if any of the dishes could be customizable? Like the sandwich you ordered to be without bacon?
If I can’t find award availability at the Park Hyatt Kyoto I would stay at the Caption and use it as a base. The Hyatt Place Kyoto is not that good and the Hyatt regency Kyoto I’ve heard is not worth the points
I agree about Hyatt place Kyoto . We were there last summer and it was away from places. We like being in the heart of the city. Thanks for the advice!
Does the points charged per night on Hyatt website ever changed? I only see 3.5k available in July to September in 2025. None for the rest of the months.
There's off peak which is 3,500. Standard which is 5,000, and Peak which is 6,500. The off-peak and peak calendar is set every year and doesn't change. Hope that answers your question!
@@MaxMilesPoints that does! Thank you! But sadly I cannot be there from July to September as I got other obligations so I couldn’t enjoy the 3.5k deal. Pity.

@@amdd727 haha yeah summers are brutally hot and humid. November for fall foliage is my favorite time to go to Japan! You’ll love it!
You're one of the favorite cardtubers, very chill and filled with information. Well done, and continue the good work.
Thank you 🙏
Booked here for 4 nights in January, so excited!

Hope you like it! Super jealous you’ll be in Japan in November. That’s my favorite time to visit
I'm staying here Sept 29-Oct2! Can't wait. Looks like a good value!
The review I needed 🫡
💯🙌
Looks like a fantastic stay for 3500 points! I'd definitely have a few stays there! Thank you for the share!

Yeah no reason to buy food at the hotel when there’s a Lawsons down the street!
Stay there for 1 night! 3500 points is such good value especially in a city like Osaka
Looks nicer that the Caption I stayed at in Memphis. That one was fine though. Great video!

Awesome vid! Peeped the X100VI too at 6:52 too, great camera for a place like Japan. What lens do you have on it?
just the built in lens with a pro mist filter on it!
@@MaxMilesPoints thanks Max! Didn’t know just a filter worked. Some people noted it might interfere with the lens protruding in and out. Do you have a link to your filter or the name of it?
@Max thanks for the review. I've been considering this place for my upcoming trip, but was on the fence prior to this video. 👍
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Thank you for posting this. This is awesome! 🎉

I booked 2 rooms 6.5k/night x 2 nights =26k total. This is early April Cherry Blossom season next year.
🔥 🔥 🔥 such a good deal!
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Sweet! I booked this place next month too & can’t wait to try a new hotel!
Hope you enjoy it!

100% Agree. Often find hotels are cheaper and better in Asia

Great video Max, thanks for the info!!!

Stayed there for 4 nights when it first opened!
cool glasses - where do you get those?! Don't you just love the room sizes in Japan? Our room in Osaka was the biggest on our entire trip!
Got them in Korea! They are the Alo brand (Korean eyewear brand) I think they are called Alo Air
I’m even more excited for my stay😊
Great review! What an awesome deal. I was checking the breakfast and it didn’t really seem to have any vegetarian options. Do you happen to know if any of the dishes could be customizable? Like the sandwich you ordered to be without bacon?
From other reviews and data points it seems like the breakfast options are all set and not customizable. I might be wrong though.
nice. want to go back to Osaka!
kicking myself for missing the 3500 pt promo.. i did book it for 6500, still good value IMO
3,500 is off peak, just need to find off peak dates with availability! It’s not a promo 😁
@@MaxMilesPoints cam on daika,,, now i dont feel bad becuase my trvel date is just a normal rate of 6500 lol
Looks awesome! Would you stay here as your base to go to Kyoto as well or book a Hyatt hotel in Kyoto?

@@MaxMilesPointsbummer, I am thinking to stay in Hyatt place Kyoto for my family. Is it bad because of the location or the building?
Were there no upgrades as Globalist?
I booked a standard queen got upgraded to a queen with city view. The next level up is the queen deluxe which is a little bigger there are bo suites

Wait. Is it never changed or it may change but not so frequent?
@@iglooNY don’t expect it to change at all
What the name of the backpack u used for this trip???
Peak design everyday backpack!
how did you pay 3500 when I pay 5000?
I’m thinking to book this for my family but do you think it will be very cramped for 3 adults and 1 kid(7 years old)?
yeah probably pretty cramped with 3 adults and a kid. most likely would need two rooms to feel comfortable
@@MaxMilesPoints that’s a bummer. I was looking for cheap place for me and my family.
Did you finish the Namba guide challenge? What was the prize?
I did not finish it totally forgot 😅
Were the laundry machines really busy?
The one time I checked the washer and dryer in the morning at around 10am no one was using it
Is breakfast included?
It is not. Breakfast Only included if you have Globalist status
Hyatt "Moxy" is the perfect description
A little bit of a room tour because the room is little.
A 90% Moxy-lookalike
100% right haha
