The business sides of Capcom and SNK were rivals but the development staffs were friendly with each other.
Takashi nishiyama aka piston takashi worked on the original lesser known 1987 street fighter 1 then left capcom for snk and went on to make art of fighting and fatal fury. And the company dimps from The early 2000s !
Art of fighting had ryo sakazaki who looked like ken and dressed like ryu .... capcom artist saw this and drew art work of sagat holding a defeated warrior who's face wasn't shown and had a orange karate gi and geta sandles being manhandled by sagat .....
When street fighter alpha came out capcom parodied this character with dan hibiki who looks like robert garcia, had mannerism like yuri sakazaki and wore bright loud colors like ryo sakazaki and was purposely made bad to mock them !

The sakazaki call their style kyokugen-Ryu meaning extreme style
While dan hibiki got kicked outta gouken's teaching for wanting revenge on sagat for killing his father go hibiki he created his own
Style called Saikyo-style meaning strongest style ....sakura kasugano mastered it in 3 days and beat dan hibiki with it then forgot all about it .
In art of fighting the player had to make sure the spirit gauge was full or their special attacks would be weak and in effective

What I found funny also is that Art of Fighting was the first fighting game to feature taunts it seems and Dan's super move is a series of taunts that do nothing.

Honestly when started with these videos I thought it would be Guile vs Ryo and Dan with Kasumi, I didn't expect to see things like Genjuro and Guile and now this.
Ryo vs Sagat makes more sense but Ryo vs Guile is also a good matchup
