I admit I am on the fence. James is not as detailed as Philip McKnight or musicngear or scar my guitar because all those people take a fret rocker and see if the frets are level. But at least James mentions sharp red ends and buzzing - I think or at least mostly. And while he doesn't give all the objective information that I need to show that there's not a conflict of interest, he does provide more information than most.
@@AnnoyingCritic-is7rp I can see your point but honestly if I want to watch a guy tear down a guitar and rebuild it better than it was like you said I'll go watch scar my guitar. Just search them on eBay. Check the measurements of the nut on your purple guitar and order a nut that matches. Main thing to match up is the "E to E" measurement. If the nut sticks out on the edges, you just sand it back a bit.

It would be REALLY interesting to see how this compares to the IYV ILS-300. The horn shape on this one looks very different from other Les Paul-style clones out there. That lime-green sunburst color on this guitar looks a lot like a green IP-350 PRS copy from IYV that I recently sold. I didn’t like that color as well as the black version.
There are two types of Gibson players, those that have had their headstocks broken and repaired, and those that are waiting for the headstock to break. Over priced pieces of garbage with shitty routing, and even worse paint jobs. One would think that as long as they have been doing this thing, they would have it mastered by now, but noooooo. I will never give Gibson my money. They can sit there and rest on their laurels as a "Legacy" brand that brings nothing new to the table. However, with that said I do love my '59 Epi/GCS Les Paul Standard Outfit they put out with all original specs and Burstbucker 2 in the neck, and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge. Love that guitar. I like my PRS guitars. Just picked up a new PRS SE McCarty Singlecut for less than half the price of a Gibson, and not a single flaw on the fit or finish. It's perfect. No tooling marks, nothing.
@@thebaldshredder Damn straight dude! Just got the new PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut. The better one with the maple cap and a sweet veneer that is to die for. Originally picked the $829 mahogany one but it had a damn burst on it unlike the one I chose from the picture on Reverb. The store accepted my offer of $750 for it but it wasn’t the one I picked. Took it along with a Epi Custom Shop LE LP w/P90’s to the store, made an offer for the upgraded model for the same price but with the trade in of the Epiphone Les Paul and a HSC, and they accepted. Just got the one with the skull lol. Unfortunately it was wired wrong and the bridge pickup wouldn’t shut off and one of the tone knobs didn’t work either. The neck was bowed a bit and buzzing and wouldn’t adjust out. I got a bad one but I’m sure the replacement will be fine. I also got an IYV PRS copy and it was awesome right out of the box. I won’t let the one bad guitar scare me lol. I have a prestige I love but wanted some cheapos to play around with and give away at shows to kids interested in learning. Although the IYV PRS really is a great guitar, I would play it on stage any day. I have the IYV hallow body on the way. And I’m going to have to get the PRS copy with the ivy inlay. The graining looks way to open to be rosewood fretboard, I'm thinking they used something much more cost effective, not to mention rosewood by nature is very oily wood and definitely wouldn't dry out like that during travel over seas albeit a week or 6 months it would still be very oily.
