We did not need Zirkzee, depsite his nice skills...we needed a fast mobile CF who could lead the line, and break defences down...although he would have needed a couple of better wingers too to have a real impact...and the No 8 and 10 positions need upgrading too

Utd squad is improving in depth and quality, the ability is there now which hasn’t always been the case. Does the physical fragility of the squad limit the intensity they can play with? The fire seems to be there against big teams in the latter stages of cup competitions when a trophy is within reach. That intensity and fight and will to win would be great on a week in week out basis, players need to win their individual battles. ETH often mentions fight and character in his press conferences, it’s something he wants from his players but it is something that does appear to be lacking in the squad, maybe this issue will be addressed somewhat once Ugarte is up to speed we will have to wait and see.

The issue was that the new contract for Bruna was not a ETH decision. As it's written in his contract that he is a key player, they have to play him a certain amount of time a year as well when he is fit.

This type of theme has been evident since David Moyes took over. Underachieving , overpaid players will never give the effort of a hungry lion. What the squad really needs is a Roy Keane, a Mikal Ballack, a Carlos Puyol, a Vincent Kompany to light some big fires under some of these asses.
