Ive also loved The University of Michigan since I was a kid & have the utmost respect for their rich history & first class culture. That said, why in the world would Lloyd Carr not use his remaining timeouts to give Breaston another kick off return opportunity or force Texas to squib it.. it wouldve been difficult but Michigan shouldve had the ball with 24 seconds ish to go

    It's weird seeing under center with 2TE or FB the vast majority of snaps. Texas hadn't gone all out to shotgun option the way I remember this offense from rewatching 06 Rose Bowl so many times. Late in the 1st half so far you can see why this is a dinosaur way to play; most runs are 2-3 yards. ALTHOUGH; Texas' run blocking leaves alot to be desired. The Michigan Front 7 is BIG and really good run stuffers; but I'm seeing cut blocks by pulling OL where the result is simply laying down in front of LBs. Vince Young made bad reads on the few read options.

Unfortunately for VY, 2006 predated the era of NFL offensive coordinators utilizing a running QB system. A few production notes, albeit critical......we expect much better on this Rose Bowl stage: The opening CU one shot of the announcer intro'ing into the Disneyland stuff: horrendous microphone technique for visual presentation....his floor director or director should be the one who should have had him pull back and give space between the top of the micr. and his mouth. Looked terribly amateurish to the viewing audience of a game of this magnitude. Todd Harris did it right, though, in his interviews w/ decent micr. presentation technique. Also, the crowd noise was too loud at times, making it hard to hear what Keith was saying. Keith had a tendency to talk in low hushed tones at times, and the audio man should have balanced the audio levels better. Crowd noise, though viscerally satisfying to the audio man, should always be below the audio level of the announcers. If you have to strain to hear the announcers, then the crowd noise needs to be brought down to a lower volume. Fouts was quite good, but sometimes seemed louder and w/ more high tones than Keith. That's also another area where the audio man should have been on top of things; and the director of the whole production also should have brought it to the attention of the audio guy, so the director is also to blame on the audio issue.

  • @Panglos
    @Panglos 5 лет назад

    When I returned from the 2005 Rose Bowl I saw McConaughey comment at half time that the Michigan offense was "one dimensional." There was some truth to that, but McConaughey's keen observation was ironic given that his beloved Texas offense was even more one-dimensional, in that it consisted almost entirely of Vince Young. Nobody else on the entire Longhorn offense did virtually anything-not even the heralded Cedric Benson, who was bottled up all day. If not for a nearly-muffed, fluttering last second field goal by a kicker who'd previously gone 5 for 9, Texas would have lost its first Rose Bowl.
    But they didn't, so McConaughey was able to keep his illusion of having no idea what a tool he is. Thankfully, Mack Brown has some class.

    Michigan hasn't won the big ten since a co title with Iowa since 2004. This is 2020 and it doesn't look good for Michigan nowadays

      Maybe it’s time for a coaching change. Remove Harbaugh and bring in somebody else. Any suggestions?

      @@Mrcharles. I don't want a real coach like dantonio over there let Michigan keep their boy/teen Harbaugh run things over their I like the way it's going over there

    California should have played in that Rose Bowl instead of Texas.

    It's Coronahell 2020 NYC; I fear no football in 2020. Which would add to an already catastrophic economy; while at the same time removing a source of joy and entertainment for soooo many Americans who NEED it; having lost their jobs and businesses. Get your shit together NCAA and NFL; come up with some serious plans. Wishful thinking and 'wait and see' is what got us into this mess.

    ALOT OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS DON'T REALIZE THIS BUT DARRELL ROYAL HAD BEEN CONSIDERED TO BECOME THE COACH AT MISSOURI. I BELIEVE HE MAY HAVE INTERVIEWED FOR THE JOB BUT EVENTUALLY MISSOURI HIRED FRANK BROYLED IN 1957 AND OF COURSE ROYAL ENDED UP AT TEXAS. ALSO BO SCHEMBECHLER HAD BEEN RUMORED TO BE LEAVING MICHIGAN TO BECOME THE HEAD COACH AT TEXAS A@M IN 1981.
