- These are what I would call the optimal settings for Game Capture on the Xbox Series X/S. Keep in mind that this may not suit everyone, but I'll explain the settings so you can pick the best ones for yourself.

Pro tip: If you have an external drive you will get the ability to record up to 1 hour.
Pro tip 2- If you set capture location to external it has to be formated to NTFS, if you set back to internal drive capture, and then back to external the capture system will wipe your captures, but the content still remains on the external drive. A faulty software setup by Microsoft, typical... Cannot also set as desktop background if your offline, and must be on internal storage to set as desktop background.
Can you record up to an hour after what happend with external or do you have to start recording before hand?

Thanks a lot , learned many tricks from you. Something could not understand ,my xbox x after shutdown, the usb port on the back of the console still supplying power so my external hard drive still on , also my standing cooling station still on run,which are getting power from the console. I don't understand even after switched off xbox x they still got power whole night! , do you have any idea?

Hello, I have an issue. I recently bought a new hyperx stinger cloud mic for the xbox series x, and after a few days, it starts echoing and buzzing and all that really bad. I was taking good care of it, and it's stressing me out because I don't know what the problem could be. I even thought my controller could be the problem, but the mic was working perfectly for a few days, and then it started echoing. I don't know what the issue is, and these are pretty good mics. Do you know what the problem might be

I recorded plenty of recordings on the External Drive earlier this past Week no problem,
but last night was a pain in the Butt. on my Series X and I don't play several Games on it I only Play GTA Online. once I've done recording I then remove the External Drive over to my PC then take off all Video's from that 2TB Drive, But last night when i was recording my Game play, I pressed record doing the Casino Heist in GTA Online i checked to make sure it was Still recording and it wasn't usually when you record there is a Time Recording but it's Not There Now, So
I unplugged the Console from my Wall Outlet waited for 15 minutes then plugged it back in and it worked for about 1 hour and the same trouble started again.

I'm on series S. I'm set for 1440p120. When I capture video its 1080p but screen shots are 1440p. In the gallery, each capture had the resolution in the thumbnail. I think its funny a picture is 1440p
And can we get a tutorial on how to use custome backgrounds?

Hey dude, I record on series X, and then “share” to OneDrive. You save space on your CPU HD by doing this, and you can choose what footage you want to download, etc.
