When John 8:32 says "And You will know the truth and the truth will set you free" it's not talking about truth that we know intellectually. It's speaking about experiential truth. Truth is experienced most profoundly when God Himself speaks it into the very core of our beings ... into our hearts.
The great Puritan preacher John Owen said, "The greatest sorrow and burden you can lay on the Father, the greatest unkindness you can do to Him is not to believe that He loves you."
The God of the universe is concerned that His people believe that He loves them. What an astounding truth!
