I'm a Korean fan. I listened to K-pop girl group's songs every day and was a fan of another girl group. Dreamcatcher's songs are so different from popular trends in Korea, but it's a pity that they don't receive more love in Korea. The B-side songs are really good and great, and Dreamcatcher is the best girl group in K-pop, and I'm proud of Dreamcatcher for achieving his own music without getting tired while being ignored sometimes in Korea. Thank you so much to the international fans
Just had the PRIVILEGE of seeing them Live last Sunday and let me tell you this... THEY ARE DEADLY SuA WRECKED me the whole damn show. She is so TINY😮❤ but a MONSTER performer. @@jadenseph1809 yeah it can be tricky for English speakers to pronounce “ Yeon” accurately but if you pronounce it “ yun “ they are going to understand you.
The one you liked her voice is the main vocalist Siyeon she is the one with white hair in the Vision mv. Yes she's my bias too like her voice is sooo good!!!
If you like Siyeons singing (yes she was the one that caught your attention) you absolutely have to check out her covers. There are 3 that are must listens: "Speechless", "Overdose" (a rock-version of EXOs Overdose) and "Betelgeuse"). But she also has own songs, the most popular one (trended in top 10 Billboard on release) is "Paradise", an absolute treat. Loved the reaction btw, basically me 2 years ago :) Jazz Bar also was my first B-Side i discovered haha
dreamcatcher is my second ult group (twice is first)! their music is literally SO GOOD like they don’t have any bad song also their personalities are top tier, they’re hilarious and the most chaotic people i’ve ever seen lolll
the only time dreamcatcher wasn't stable singing MAISON live was when they won their first music show win with this song after being 5 years in Dreamcatcher!! it's an emotional moment that I would recommend watching those performances and speeches once you're more familiar with the group after watching a guide, especially when you react to the "dodging disbandment and other extreme sports a history of dreamcatcher" video (a must when you become a true somnia!) the possible bias you're having in VISION is for Gahyeon 17:28, maknae of the group! the one who does most of the high notes in dreamcatcher songs is Siyeon (BOCA & VISION). Main dancer is SuA 28:47, lead dancer is Dami (the rapper with lower voice). SuA will usually be the center during dance breaks. They're touring the USA right now, they just finished their dates in Canada. Maybe you can still grab tickets and attend if they're close to you! The dancer with the mask is standing for one of the members, Handong, who wasn't in the Scream and Boca era due to COVID. She's the Chinese member in the group and she was in her home country recording an idol survival show called Youth With You, where Lisa from BLACKPINK was the dance mentor. That's why Handong's return in Odd Eye was so big and our princess came back as confident as ever! You got most of the member names right, except for Siyeon (shee-yeon) and Yoohyeon (yoo-yeon). Jazz Bar is definitely one of my favorite songs, if not my favorite alongside Demian, so I'm happy you reacted to it!
"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It could be about North Korea as well after all. It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release! Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
That Soul Stone from a mobile game, King Raids. The same game company also produced the visual for the Dreamcatcher Deja Vu MV, which the song for King Raids OST. Then, they have the song, OST for King Raids anime, Eclipse 🤟
I've seen them live 2 days ago (not to flex or anything...) and i can garantee you, their live vocals are insane. You should react to propose the showcase version i think. Really good
I love so much to watch people reacting to DC for the first time, is as if I'm living everything again. I can feel their emotion and I get so excited as them!! Really loved your reaction!
They have live performances for these songs where they just sing and dont dance so you can usually see them all as they sing their lines and adlibs. The one you liked is Siyeon, she is the one with the crazy villain eyes, sometimes wears a bob wig with bangs. If you like her voice I recommend her cover of overdose, her ost with Dami called Shadow (both versions) and cover of paradise lost as well as betelguese. Her voice is extremely versatile but once you hear her sing different genres its very easy to pick out.
Those High notes -most of them- you liked are from Siyeon, you can see in some dances that she just stops because you can't do those while running around.
As you are in for a deep dive, let me break down Scream a little so you can better understand the M/V Dystopia Trilogy: This trilogy talks about Cyberbullying and the power of language and how it can hurt someone if used in a negative way. It portrays their attempt at facing the Dystopian reality that is hidden in the world of social media. The center of the story is the tree of language that is turning black due to negativism after the curse of the evil language was released (depicted as opening Pandora's box in Scream) and the light provided by positive words fade out. The order of the title tracks is: Scream (Hear no Evil) - happening in the Past - Fantasy vibes Boca (Speak no Evil - Boca is the Spanish word for mouth) - Present timeline Odd Eye (See no Evil) - Futuristic vibes M/V: The dancer with the mask on is reserving the spot for Handong. (stuck in China due to CoVid) First you mostly see the members wearing white, that is their pure uncorrupted form and they gradually take on the black outfit after waking up to the new world of hatred. The masks otherwise represent anonymity provided by social media. 35:36 is when Gahyeon breaks the container of the curse and negativism starts spreading (Explosion around the tree) It is also shown that this has happened some time in the past and negativism is ever since part of our society. (35:38 the ancient texts light up) 35:43 they point fingers at her for doing it. Similar to their other title tracks like Deja Vu the storytelling is not linear. Anyway in Scream the members are already wearing black but still asleep at the beginning 31:56. ("My covered eyes are stained with blood") 33:10 shows the loss of the white form. There is even a transitioning outfit with JiU with White on top of black 33:13. The purple fog with the evil words 33:23 is the curse basically, the scenes with purple with black outfit are the corrupted areas. We see how the spreading works in the bridge when Siyeon is still wearing white 35:51 while the other six members are already in black and around the now corrupted tree (purple) and they walk away from her wearing some black already and in 36:09 she wakes up wearing black. It is also important to note that one of the important message is how the "Please I don't want to scream" turns into Siyeon eventually singing "I just want to make you scream", meaning that basically negativism corrupts people turning them from victims to perpetrators. 36:20 "Dami: and one by one everyone becomes crazy". And finally now all of them wearing black walk away.
39:56 the masked dancer is a background dancer but she’s in the spot of handong, she’s a chinese member and was stuck in china due to covid at this time. that’s why you won’t see her in scream and boca (she came back for odd eye). they thought she would be back at this time so they choreographed for all the 7 members but she wasn’t back yet
The more I listen to Maison the more I like it! I still cannot understand why so many people dont like this song. Specially plus the choreography it's so epic! 13:46 I get literally chills in this part
Insomnia don't like Maison in general regarding musicality since it's a bit boring compare to their other title tracks. The final chorus till the end of the song definitely save it. But Maison DOES hold an important spot in fandom I bet you have known the reason. No Insomnia hate Maison.
@@_PhungLeHoangNgoc At my first listen, I felt that Maison was just ok, but the more a listen to it the more I like, as many DC songs. Tbh, the only Dreamcatcher title tracks I loved at first listen were BEcause and You and I, for the rest it took me a few more listens, but nowadays I love all of them so much. The one who took the longest for me to like was Fly high. I had to listen to it so many times, before I actually enjoyed it... And, I would never say Maison is boring. Everything about the song is thrilling. Dami's rap and the last part with "La maison" are so iconic. And, yeah, our first win, I know. Even though I believe that almost each DC title tracks should have a win, specially BEcause.
I actually got into fandom first from Maison since a random one said Maison is really good so I went give them a check (I usually don't do that) and got hooked immediately by the last chorus and surprisingly got hooked even more with Scream, Odd Eye, Piri, Deja Vù, BEcause and pretty much everything right after. Extremely regret not stanning them earlier, that's 5 years since their debut and not counting the Minx era. - Regarding Fly high, that's maybe the least rock title track from Dreamcatcher and surprisingly not written by neither Ollounder nor Leez as their usual producers. But many Korean seem to love Fly high compare to other songs btw ^^ (I think What is also not produced by Ollounder and Leez)
@@osml At least we have Bsides (I mean A+Side) for everyone who isn't satisfied with title track. Bon Voyage doesn't hit me right away but after several times listening, everything in that song started to make sense to me. Hoping for a melodically catchy title track for their next comeback like Odd Eye.
And they still share Ollounder, and now Maddox, Pepperoni, Olive, Buddy and Door. Basically every member of Eden-ary except Eden since he has an exclusive contract with KQ.
@@pichejf Oh I only know they share Ollounder and Leez, so there are much more? That's explain the reason why Im in love with Ateez discography recently. Sadly Leez left both group 😢
I feel that Dreamcatcher has a good budget because they are from Dreamcatcher company. Their company can allocate all their resources into Dreamcatcher, whereas companies that are the big ones have multiple groups. While they have more resources they have to split their resources to all the groups under their company. Dreamcatcher is its own company.
From oldest to youngest. JiU - Gee-yoo SuA - Soo-ah Siyeon - Shee-yon Handong - Han-dong Yoohyeon - Yoo-hyon Dami - Dah-mee Gahyeon - Gah-hyon Each name is two syllables so the hyeon bit is like yon with a short huh sound at the start.
Thank you for starting this deep dive! I actually had the chance to deep-dive (G)I-DLE right along your deep-dive for it so I really enjoyed that ride. So glad to see you're now doing the same for my ult group. For the live episode, I really want to recommend three favourites of mine here specifically because I know most of the time others recommend their showcase stages instead (which are extremely good too, don't get me wrong). Even if it's not a published reaction (as I don't know how copyrights can get issued with these performances), I just recommend them for any fan! First, two versions for Break the Wall. One is the performance of its normal version at the Apocalypse World Tour in Seoul (youtube vid tag 41s5cOWlYB0) because (1) I love the live energy, (2) you can hear how emotional the members are as this performance was right after they thanked a lot of people so the meaning of the song also multiplies tenfold imo, also Dami's rap verses are way more unhinged than the studio version and I just LOVE it when she goes wild. The second one is their toned-down rearrangement from the amazing Utopia concert (youtube vid tag 6iVddtdJWUw). All the re-arrangements in that concert had this vibe and they're immaculate. BONUS points for both these performances: Handong, who was absent for the song's recording and album's showcase is present for both these concerts so she gets to shine too! The other recommendation is their Propose performance in Dream Concert Japan (youtube vid tag tPWtvzgHXrc) because I find the vocals can be better heard in its production and the energy is also amazing. Again, you can't go wrong with the showcase stages for both these songs but these performances are just so special.
If you like the rock sound in kpop, I can recommend Billlie - Ring Ma Bell. Billlie doesn't usually do a lot of rock sounds, as far as I know, but this one blew me away!
The budget lol I really think Dreamcatcher's company, Dreamcatcher Company, literally only earns money through Dreamcatcher. That's why they work so hard 😊 (but it must be so much pressure 😔)
As for the scream choreography ploopy did a nice comparison two years ago and at that time for her that was the hardest choreography among any girl group she has covered: ruclips.net/video/RRz_jUH9Jhw/видео.html Dreamcatcher has dances over 200bpm. But I think their hardest choreography is the one SuA made for Demian that was revealed only two weeks ago. That is probably the hardest one out of any girl group in 2023. Some double time parts are at 220 bpm. If it is not on your radar, I highly recommend ruclips.net/video/iCH2rI7z_M0/видео.html
For a good guide I recommend this one: ruclips.net/video/SY9ep3x0Pu8/видео.htmlfeature=shared It's a bit older but it's so well made and represents the members very well! ^_^

Insomnia don't like Maison in general regarding musicality since it's a bit boring compare to their other title tracks. The final chorus till the end of the song definitely save it. But Maison DOES hold an important spot in fandom I bet you have known the reason. No Insomnia hate Maison.

At my first listen, I felt that Maison was just ok, but the more a listen to it the more I like, as many DC songs.
Maison gives me chills, but I understand it's not for everyone. Personally, I don't like Bon Voyage even tho I was SO excited for their comeback.
Dreamcatcher !!!
The best group in my heart !!!
Who is your bias : Whoever is on the screen
Who is your wrecker : Dreamcatcher
I think a collab between Dreamcatcher and Ateez would be fire. Their styles would be seamlessly compatible.
they shared LEEZ as a producer, so of course!!

If you want a good guide to react to, a recent guide that I like is An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher by Dreamer.
Coming from someone who loves a good band mix, video games, and anime. DC hits all 3 spots. And they're untouchable in their concept and sound.
dreamcatcher \:D/
they will be in nashville, orlando, and cincinnati in the next few days so if you close to there you're in luck!
40:00 The girl with the mask on is really "Handong" she was in China when Covid-19 came out. So, she wasn't in Scream. Nor was she in Boca.
Thanks for the reaction ❤
the Dreamcatcher we love!!
From oldest to youngest.
JiU - Gee-yoo
SuA - Soo-ah
Siyeon - Shee-yon
Handong - Han-dong
Yoohyeon - Yoo-hyon
Dami - Dah-mee
Gahyeon - Gah-hyon
Each name is two syllables so the hyeon bit is like yon with a short huh sound at the start.
The one that you liked the voice is Siyeon. She is Dreamcatcher's main vocalist.
If you like the rock sound in kpop, I can recommend Billlie - Ring Ma Bell. Billlie doesn't usually do a lot of rock sounds, as far as I know, but this one blew me away!
42:48 the male dancer was tired as hell…😅
I bet that was his first time feel so exhausted when cooperating with girl group.
Oh shit! You aren't ready! ❤ You're gonna love it.
their concerts are a must go!
The budget lol I really think Dreamcatcher's company, Dreamcatcher Company, literally only earns money through Dreamcatcher. That's why they work so hard 😊 (but it must be so much pressure 😔)
Dreamcatcher!!!
Scream ain't a curse babes, instead it actually repels curses. Hence why they use the evil eye symbol in the chorus.
More reactions please! i´ll recomend you Black or white (MJ style) ... 🤯🤯
Good luck when you hear Thier song dejavu and eclipse
The Who are they guide 21/22 its amazing ❤
🔥🔥😍😍👍👍❤❤
They have 3 stories:nightmares, distopia and apocalypse/apocalyptic
As for the scream choreography ploopy did a nice comparison two years ago and at that time for her that was the hardest choreography among any girl group she has covered: ruclips.net/video/RRz_jUH9Jhw/видео.html
Dreamcatcher has dances over 200bpm.
Still would love to see a deep dive in to Monsta X when you have the time
Dreamcatcher guide pls!
For a good guide I recommend this one: ruclips.net/video/SY9ep3x0Pu8/видео.htmlfeature=shared
It's a bit older but it's so well made and represents the members very well! ^_^
Have you seen the one that Dreamer made a couple of months ago? Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/6TzMO2rkL0k/видео.html
