The best part of the episode was seeing TJ reacting to the puzzle, especially the close-up when Bananas could not figure it out. TJ was having a grand ol' time
The Sarah/Bananas flashback in the beginning had me thinking Kyland was gonna cut a deal & throw in Michelle, especially when he brought up last season in the chamber.
For someone with few connections and hadn't been on the show in forever, Aviv acquitted herself quite well. Tough luck to get an unwinnable elimination against Jenny, but I'm glad she was on the show. I hope she'll do All Stars in the future.
In this seasons format men can’t throw other men into eliminations. And he’s pretty protected on the female side they need him for the final. He’s played a great social game
Happy Aviv was on this season! She performed very well and I’m sure if she was in a place in life to be a regular after Fresh Meat, she could’ve gotten another championship.
I blame production, they probably didn't explain the rules good and could of done a better job of barricading the areas to not go......especially of how dangerous it was, who knows what is still down there from the war.
Totally agree she's awesome. She said she wanted to do more seasons after fresh meat but never got a call from production. She said her season was the last season they were allowed phones and she just talked to her boyfriend the whole time so they didn't find her very interesting.
I thought this was the best episode so far. Bananas and TJ were hilarious. The challenge was unique. I loved the angels going against each other. I was rooting for Aviv, but 🤷♀️ it was entertaining, it was real. I enjoyed it😊
I thought about it, I was like who knows what still down there left from the war. There were so many traps and production could of done a better job of barricading. Aviv and Bananas talk about this in his podcast.
I was pissed they didn’t tell her sooner. When Natalie ran the wrong way during the Final Reckoning final, production told her soon after she was going the wrong way & made her turn back. Some1 should’ve told Aviv she couldn’t go past any barriers or to at least watch out for them
I really like that both Michele and Kyland are smart enough and mature enough to realize a player has to adapt to whatever game format is being used that season and you can be allies one season and enemies the next.
I'm sad to see Aviv go out like this, but she gave it her all. The daily was hilarious to me with Bananas not realizing the puzzle was TJ's face, but TJ's reaction to Bananas trashing the puzzle was the highlight of the episode for me. Sad to see Kyland give Michele a pass given the last season, but it is what it is.
It’s so annoying. The only reason why Michele clung to Kyland this season is bcuz she saw him doing well in the dailies & needed some1 to keep her safe. I don’t think she’d have any real loyalty to him if Devin were still in the house.
Good episode. Corey is doing well; he's in an okay spot. Rachel is pretty much locked into the final (she has Bananas & Jordan protecting her). Secondly, Tight Quarter daily challenge was cool. It's unfortunate what happened to Aviv- but the elimination caught up with her. Also, Bananas tilting was hilarious. Kyland and Tori have been performing well in dailies; they're both gonna make the final. The Iron Triangle challenge is cool- they should keep it as part of the rotation; unfortunately it was a terrible matchup for Aviv. All in all, everything is out in the open, and Derek is likely going to be eliminated next; maybe a double elimination?
I think this elimination could be much more interesting if it was Aviv vs Michele. It's a shame that Kyland didn't use the oportunity take revenge on Michele for what happened last season
he wouldn't be able to be targeted. All he has to do is not come last and it seems he's in the final and *FIVE times Michele and her alliance sent Kyland into elimination on season 39
Lol but this season they have worked together the whole way. She didn't betray Kyland, they were just on opposite sides last time and now on same side.
@@williamgeorge-thomas4487 exactly at this point everyone knows that next time it will be last male elimination so Kyland wouldn't have to take any kind of backlash if he did that
Those tunnels served as a vital underground network for the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, allowing them to launch surprise attacks against American & South Vietnamese forces, hide from enemy detection, and effectively resist a much better-equipped enemy through guerrilla warfare tactics. I was wondering if TJ was gonna say his customary, patented compliment of: "You killed it" when the 2 top competitors of the tunnel challenge were announced.
Jenny or Aviv should have told them, "this could be the last guy elimination before the finale, this could be the last chance to get bananas out. The Angels wont nominate him but Michelle will. Do u wanna risk that and hope he gets last in the next daily or you send Michelle down And have a 50/50 shot. " Asking kyland does he wanna run a final with Jordan and bananas
For me, tight corners would be the worst daily challenge for me to compete in because I am extremely claustrophobic! That seemed way too small! Took years for me to be comfortable in an elevator!
I always wonder whether the eliminations are set in stone ahead of time or if production puts them out when they know who’s up for elimination. Some more transparency in this respect would be helpful as a viewer. Would be curious if anyone has inside information about this.
Two things: 1 - Derrick and Cory saying they don't want to see Bananas in a finals......he's come up short the last couple of finals he was in.....MEANWHILE , Jordan is just chilling there and the most recent finals winners left is being slept on....how does that make any sense.....they are so blind until the very end of this episode when Cory opened his eyes and realizes that Jordan is the real threat. 2 - Michele saying that Banana's angel are big threats to her game.....um DUH....she and Aviv I would say at the bottom ranking of the females left with competition. I am not saying they suck, but the including Aviv all are champions. So yeah, including Tori and Cara, yeah all of them are biggest threats to her game. Rachel has a couple of seasons win under her belt, Tori a recent champion, Jenny beat everyone including the males to win, and so did Cara. Anyone else kinda felt awkward regarding Michele bday celebrations? I get it, glad she had a good celebration, but a little much. Tori trying to stir pot with Aviv and Jenny was wack all around, the fact she tried and the way she did it....big fail. Aviv giving Jenny that pep talk, I think is going to boost Jenny to another level, she I think is the favorite to win. Also, those tunnels are no joke, Im surprised production did not do a better job barricading, who knows what is still down there left from the war. So dangerous. Sorry, guess this was more than 2 things.
Aviv seemed 18yrs ago to be carried by Darrell when they won the season(her Elim win was AWESOME) This season proved she don't need to be carried! She was then & is still a BADASS!!!❤Thanks Drew for all yer hard work!
I don’t agree that she was carried at all because I think Aviv was one of the best females there that season not to mention her and Darrell wouldn’t even have won that season if it wasn’t for her in the final
This episode would have been truly epic if the elimination was between two opponents who where more physically matched. Rachel & Jenny would have been great.
It is so predictable now. I know who Corey will pick if he win the elim, I know who Jordan will pick if he wins the elim and I know who Derek will pick if he wins. SO we just waiting to see who wins! Johnny and Kylan is going straight to the Final. I think Rachel is safe as well.
i hate it when challengers always talk about not wanting certain people in the final, but they always say this right before the final when it's too late. and i can't wait for Michelle to cost one of them in the final because she is in there instead of someone better. when Cara/Tori was telling her how hard the final was, the look on her face was hilarious.
I mean it made for more video for her to keep going but if breaking the barrier dq'd them someone should've just dq'd her a lot earlier instead of letting her go way off track which could've been dangerous
This is the part of every season I don't like, there are not enough players and their story lines to fill a 90 minute episode. It starts to DRAGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
So for next week. Hoping Bananas loses, Jordan doesn't win and Cara wins, because I think she would put Jordan in. I want to see chaos. I want to see bananas vs Jordan
@@shortycb2349I think Bananas loses to him some how. Every time somebody asks bananas what he regrets about this season he says not getting rid of Jordan when I had the chance.
13:27 in Thailand when did they move to Thailand? I thought they were in Vietnam and these were the Tunnels the North Vietnamese Army used during the war?
Bananas sold me Doritos last night. It wasn't him simply eating them but how he was. Speaking with his mouth full and trash talking Cara Maria. I went to the store today and bought a huge bag of nacho cheese Doritos.
That slider was one of the smallest you can do. Cara, why, why are you having problems. One of the key clues for most of all these puzzles is that they are "40" themed.
The Cu Chi tunnels were used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. There are many American veteran ‘tunnel rats’ with PTSD from them. I’m surprised Johnny didn’t have another interview about his dad regarding the tunnels. But, considering what happened to both the Americans and the Vietnamese during that wasted war, I shouldn’t be.
I would love to know what Aviv was thinking breaking down a barrier to get through the tunnels. Maybe with her adrenaline going/being in dark close quarters she just couldn't think logically. She's small but has a lot of fighting her. She's was scrappy as hell when it came to the elimination with Jenny. Hopefully she comes back for another season!
Aviv just ran up into an elimination that was a bad match for her, in addition to being injured. Bet it feels bad to know you got there by screwing up the daily challenge with a panic attack type mistake. If she could have that over I bet she would because if she had gone the right way she could have well had won that challenge. I've had a bit of a back and forth with Kyland on Twitter about Michelle and Olivia, basically it seems like he's forgiven them or he's willing to look past how they behaved last season. It seems like those are people he feels most comfortable working with this season since he knows them best. If that's the case I wonder what season 41 or 42 will be like if it's a regular cast with new people thrown in, whether he'd be willing to work with them then. He defended working with them because he will do the logical thing. To me if someone proves to be a backstabber or actively working against you the logical thing to do would be to not work with them, but perhaps for this particular season working with them was the best route. If I was treated the way he was, I couldn't work with Michelle or Olivia after the way they behaved on season 39. As I said to Kyland, they'd have to prove they would never act that way towards me again and that would take a lot. I do hope for Cory's sake he now has firm ground with true support in at least Cara. We know Tori will choose Jordan over him so she's not as reliable. And Tori had her Michelle from last week moment with that question at the deliberation. Really looking to see how things play out because now both sides have nothing but hitters left. Bananas, Rachel and Jenny on one side, all tough.. Everyone else on the other side pretty tough. Maybe this is the last elimination before the final coming up, at least I hope there is one more.
I feel like this should have been the elimination for Josh and Cory and their elimination should have been for Jenny and Aviv. Would have made both eliminations so much better
I was a little disappointed and confused by how they show the clip of Sarah from exes 2 making it seem like we would see a blindside in this episode only for Kyland to NOT throw in Michelle, that would’ve been great TV,
I totally agree with Sarah and I also think Michelle vs Aviv would have been a better and more entertaining elimination and obviously good for tv. I think everybody knew jenny was going to beat Aviv in that iron triangle elimination what did you think about the daily challenge and the elimination between Aviv vs jenny and do you think kyland will regret not throwing Michelle in on her birthday overall as well what is your reaction to that?
I totally agree with you it would have closed the episode of strong especially after Michelle basically backed stabbed kyland on battle for a new champion so it is crazy that kyland didn't pull the trigger after Michelle also exposed herself in the chamber and the speech she gave.
@@michaelwhite4004 I think Kyland is just overall not really a vengeful person and because Michelle has been loyal to him this season he probably just started a clean slate with her especially since he’s not necessarily aligned with any of the other remaining women on this season. But for the sake of entertainment, it would have been kind of awesome if he ended up just voting her in.
@@sarahvEscalante I definitely agree with plus he is not as close with the other women in the house like you said plus I believe there the only two left from era 4 as well to so they formed a good alliance to get to the final.
Cory is trying to convince Kyland to go after Jordan and Bananas. Kyland has the mindset of "I want to beat the best in the final". Cory has the mindset of "don't let them get to a final." He was trying to convince Kyland to get rid of them before him if it comes to it.
@@doitheartily7727 Im just surprised how Cory and Derrick keep saying "you don't want to see Bananas in a finals" Meanwhile the biggest threat to any of them winning is Jordan. Second is probably Kyland, and then maybe Bananas though like Cory said earlier this season he beat Bananas in a final before.
It’s really hard to continue to follow the challenges when the interviews on other podcasts exploit the production and how poor these challenges/eliminations are executed.
Really boring episode here, i didnt care for daily and the elim was so lopsided. Outcomes all episode long were pretty obvious and made everything less interesting. Hoping we get a good one next week but i feel like itll be similar to where its very obvious and a lopsided elim (probably ends with something like Cory destroying Derek in a physical elim)

Honestly I think this was the worse episode in the history of the challenge. No drama, no fun, no suspense with who’s going in. The challenge was just ok. All just bleh
I’m going to go out on the limb and say for the final elimination they’re going to bring back the elimination games they started with on this season. Maybe there’ll be a blind draw or whoever gets voted in gets to pick the game🙃

@ThatKiddNish you look at older seasons and it's so different from how it is now. I'd say after Total Madness is when the show started getting really boring, less fights, hookups, intense eliminations or creative dailies.
❤❤❤
I feel like this should have been the elimination for Josh and Cory and their elimination should have been for Jenny and Aviv. Would have made both eliminations so much better
Not really. Would've been the same results...blowout wins for Cory & Jenny
Vietnam* not Thailand
Bro they are not in Thailand...they are in Vietnam hahaha
I think Michelle exposed her game in the chamber especially with the speech she gave overall was just ridiculous.
Watch The Challenge by moonlight.
Give a recap by daylight.
With the Challenge fans to help fight.
He is the one named Sailor Drew.
Cory and Kyland just now talking about getting rid of Jordan and Johnny………… cmon man
They should've been tried getting rid of them weeks ago now it will be too late
Some way they managed to add in more feet content. Lol why are they so obsessed with feet
Bananas and his attention to detail sucks. I’m rooting for him and he gives me heart attacks each week.
Only problem with Kyland and Cory's conversation about a black man winning the challenge: Did they forget Danny McCary existed?
That’s what I said
I guess they meant on the flagship seasons
Why all a sudden they bringing up race? First the autism and now this? Wtf.
I'm pretty excited for the final! I really hope Michele and Derek make it!
It sucks that Tori won again! Can she just fail?
This episode was boring
Should’ve showed more of
Michelle b day or
The angles with something other than feet or other cast members
I wanted to aviv to go farther
I like jenny but aviv has the endurance and intelligence
Honestly I think this was the worse episode in the history of the challenge. No drama, no fun, no suspense with who’s going in. The challenge was just ok. All just bleh
I’m going to go out on the limb and say for the final elimination they’re going to bring back the elimination games they started with on this season. Maybe there’ll be a blind draw or whoever gets voted in gets to pick the game🙃
Anyone else thinks bananas threw the puzzle challenge on purpose? 🤔
Why? To get a penalty in the next round and possibly go into elimination?
@@glenndallas7171 maybe they’re thinking he didn’t want to pick between his angels but I agree, he just shit the bed on this one. lol
The franchise needs new champions, are you ready Michele & Kyland?
I liked Kyland's performance in 39, but 40 shows that when he's in power he turns into a total GameBot.
???? I'm genuinely unsure what you mean by Gamebot?
@@yesseniagomez9837 A term used a lot in the Survivor community. Basically his whole personality/confessionals pertain to the game and strategy. Doesn't really provide storylines/drama. Just plays the game and forgets he's also there to make a Show.
I'm rooting for cara, rachel and michelle for girls and for guys kyland, corey and derek
This episode was so boring, couldn't care less about Avivs husband, the last time a black person won the show, or Michelle's birthday. Where is the drama at? Is this MTV or hallmark? 😴😳 don't watch this show to see everyone hold hands
Well the house was divided on Michelle’s birthday. One side celebrating and the other side talking about their feet. 😂
Cara and Tori dressing up as men gag is fucking cringe. Christ on a stick I'd be playing footsies all day with Bananas if the alternative was that.
Tbh I agree I miss the messiness on the challenge but you know time changed and people are sensitive. I think mtv tryna be a drama free show and want to stay focusing on shows with challenges
@ThatKiddNish you look at older seasons and it's so different from how it is now. I'd say after Total Madness is when the show started getting really boring, less fights, hookups, intense eliminations or creative dailies. Now most the eliminations are puzzles or math problems with maybe two or three physical eliminations the whole season
@ There could be a production overhaul. Apparently under armor dropped their sponsorship
I wish kyland could have been named target.
I just can't stand him.
