But it is not easy...and hurt can run so deep ..takes a lot to not let it swallow you up...and to hold tight to a place of light and love, having faith that you will remember the real sense one day! I hated the fact that I could tarnish my grandpa's name and as hard as its been I'm now flying as right as I can. It's just taking nearly my whole lifetime to do it.

Knowing it’s a normal process it’s still bringing tears to my eyes every time I think of this upcoming moment. This song hits me truly hard,, I went to see alan Jackson in concert in april in Milwaukee, wi, with my mom for mothers day right before I left for the air force. I GREW TO HIS MUSIC, the day my dad handed me the cd labeled good time. Any time I felt sad, alone or depressed, I listened to his music gave me hope and faith. In my training through the air force my dad was struggling with stage 4 cancer, I went home twice on emergency leave to see him the last time I went home he was in hospice. Now when I went home, I found the album angels and alcohol that my mom got me a the concert. I never got to listen to it until 7 months later! WOW. I HEARD THIS SONG, with my dads condition driving his car I put this song on I started balling. My dad was my idol hunting and fishing partner for life he passed on December 4, 2016 11:59 pm. A part of this song spoke to me that made me. I showed this song to my family and I wanted to play it at his funeral but it was too late.:( But I must say this song helped me cope a lot with my loss. Keep doing what your doing alan. The hardest battle you will ever have to fight is between who you are now and who you want to be! Love Dad those are the words my daddy wrote to me in basic training, and when I was I afraid id pull them out and think how much they mean to me. It got me through my struggles. In my opnion, I think Mr Jackson's new songs are being part of the "end of his carreer". Not that I want this, I love his songs, and I've been listening to them since I was a little boy. But, in my mind, I feel like this... And when I think about that, about how much Mr Jackson has aged, it kinda hits me. His songs should last forever.
I don't think Alan is ever going to retire. After all he loves country music with all his heart, and he will keep recording music, even if fucking country radio screws his singles. We should all boycott country radio for what they are doing to him and artists like Kacey Musgraves, Jon Pardi and Chris Stapleton.
Regina Phalenge they stopped playing his music because he's "too country". fuck country radio. They only play his older hits but they accurately avoid playing his new singles. Jim and Jack and Hank was screwed, country radio stopped playing it and it peaked at #50.

Ive always loved Alan Jackson, and this song makes me smile and nearly cry at the same time. These lyrics remind me so much of what my dad says to me. I remember when I heard this song for the very first time. Was just a kid that didn't understand it the way that I understand it now. In my opnion, I think Mr Jackson's new songs are being part of the "end of his carreer". Not that I want this, I love his songs, and I've been listening to them since I was a little boy.
