    That sounds fantastic, it's amazing how much performance can be made with the old air cooled VW engines.

      With all the technology today, I also get amazed on how much performance can be made. We can adapt almost everything to aircooled’s just like any other engine.

    also, if you have ever seen the clear 'see through' test only valve covers, you will see a ton of oil load up into the 3/4 valve cover, coming from the crankcase (via push rod tubes), especially if you have a ton of blowby via unseated rings and a turbo, I think Mike Sheldon has a post somewhere on this. Also, seems fuel is washing down your cylinders which is adding to the blowby 'glazing' of the cylinders; thus why you are smelling it in the oil,, just a guess.

      Don’t have cam specs but I do know it’s a Pauter cam.
