    It seems to be the opposite for me. Flat shoes kill my lower back. Heels seem to relieve my pain🤷🏾‍♂️

    I’ve literally been suffering from stiff back, neck and legs for weeks, my walking has been a bit off, I’ve been feeling a little foggy and not myself. Went to my doctor and no infection or signs of anything neurological. And all he did was prescribe me muscle relaxants, but everything was still hurting. My doc didn’t even mention anything about my shoes. It literally was until a young coworker of min, who studies physical therapy, suggested it could be my shoes. I wear the same athletic shoes for both working out and work (even for 8hr shifts), and had no idea that the arch heel could mess you up like this 😭😭 literally this is good to know!

      Has been around a year from your experience, hope at this point you got new different shoes and so you’re doing better. I can relate, I’m a back sufferer for years I’ve been with many doctors n therapist: none of them mentioned anything about shoes. They want the patient to rely only in their treatments especially pills because that’s where the money is. I had to do my own research: causes, alternative treatments, shoes etc..

    I was pleasantly surprised when you showed the Altra. I have a 5 level T-L spinal fusion and Altra is the most comfortable shoe for me - because of the zero drop and the wide toe box.. I hiked 15 miles this weekend in the Altra Lone Peak all weather without a problem. The Lone Peak all weathers don't last though. They make a Lone Peak Hiker now that looks more durable. Going to try the Torin 5 Leather for work (nursing). I also have the Paradigm which has a the most cushion of any Altra model. They are made for long distance road running - so no luggy trail tread that can act as pressure points. The Paradigms are my favorite daily shoe. I also have Crocs that I wear around the house and they are practically zero drop with a wide toe box. My back doesn't last nearly as long doing daily chores if I'm not wearing Crocs. What do you think about Hoka? I really like the plush soles. I had a lot of luck w/ the Stinson trails as a daily, do everything shoe.

    I wore Skechers for several months and developed lower back pain. I did I websearch and found a doctor in England who reported two to three patients a day with back pain specific to Skechers. Stopped wearing the Skechers and currently recovering.

    I wear Altra superior with a superfeet arch and they help all kinds of issues for me. My foot can work properly with good toe splay. Home workouts are usually barefoot. House-shoes are crocs. Toe splay is gold. Good video.

    This is so counterintuitive to what the truth is. Nothing will help your injured back and knees more than a Max cushion shoe.... Such as a Hoka or a new balance or Brooks. Wear a pair of Vans with bad knees and then wear a Max cushion running shoe and you will throw the vans in the trash because they will destroy your body.
    There's a reason why orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists will recommend the shoes that they do. If you go into orthopedic surgeon's office you will see people wearing Asics, Hokas, Brooks etc and that's why they approve those shoes.
    Max cushion shoes will actually fix injuries.
    I'm personally currently about to avoid knee surgery because of getting into max cushion shoes when I hurt my knee 🙏🏽👟

      I think that the trick it's mixing the shoes. I have an herniated dish, It hurts a my lower back and heels if I use a zero drop shoes for along walk. Using my Hokas It's ok. I need something to cushion the impact. For weightlifting I prefer zero drop shoes.

    I can vouch for this, my lower back was sore if I rubbed my back bone. I couldn’t explain it. I thought it was my sitting posture. Then one day I injured my knee and peroneal nerve due to excessive exercise in tight high drop shoes, I tried barefoot shoes. And then I found out it also removed my lower back pain,

    This is great info. I just discovered this video and have wondered why every time we go on long walks my back and feet hurt. I have gone through so many recommended shoes but nothing has worked. Even the orthotics haven't helped. I currently have the brooks beast and they are no good. We are planning a trip to Disney and I know I'll be walking miles every day and standing in lines for hours on concrete. Can you please recommend a shoe that would help? I would like to start breaking them in now.

      @@Colmez8 I hear you! Standing all day can be as much of a challenge as sitting. I have this problem when I'm delivering training courses. When we stand for long periods, often we don't stand with particularly good posture which puts strain on our lower back. William @Fitness 4 Back Pain has a good little vid which helps you to reset your standing position. One of the keys is definitely to do some regular work to switch on your glutes which will often go to sleep when you're standing (e.g. banded walks) if you can also incorporate things like calf raises or some squats into your day (maybe in breaks or in a quiet period!) it can help get things switched on.

    I'd love to use neutral shoes and zero drop, maybe even toe shoes as I become more aware of how I stand and walk by doing tai chi and qigong a year after spinal fusion. I know a wider toe box will help me, but what if I have a high arch? is there a neutral shoe that won't make my arches fall?

    • @Fitness4BackPain
      @Fitness4BackPain  3 года назад +1

      Your arches won’t fall and if you’re using the shoes right it will build strength in the ankle and foot to sustain the right height. The same goes for flat feet (me). Wearing the shoes won’t do anything but using the shoes as a tool to help improve my foot strength is where the magic happens.

    • @Fitness4BackPain
      @Fitness4BackPain  3 года назад +1

      I have flat feet and I believe the more opportunities you can have to build strength back in your ankles and feet the better but you have to work into it. You can even start by waking around barefoot.

    • @PEACEFULWARRIOR999
      @PEACEFULWARRIOR999 2 года назад

      Your posture has to do more with your upper core neck shoulders chest, weight & chin believe it or not, it's not a so much with your feet but if you think that your upper core is weak then maybe you can start from the roots up and I don't think it will hurt to try it.
