Looking forward to doing the same in my local woodland in Cardiff, we have one just like this that blooms Bluebells in early March. Absolutely stunning to see!!
Lovely video, Ben. Finally, someone else who actual takes care around bluebells! I see so many people trampling all over them and it just infuriates me as walking on them can often kill them. Thanks for drawing people's attention to how delicate they are. And some lovely shots! I often use a telephoto for macro work. It's also excellent for butterlies and dragonflies as it keeps you further away from the little blighters!
Hi Andrew, thanks for watching 😊 I'm glad you noticed how careful I was being, it is really important to me to have as little impact as possible when I go out to do photography.
I’m glad you mentioned something in your latest video about the comments - so often I watch something I really like but don’t think to leave a comment. I really love your work, especially as I’m new to wildlife photography. But I have years of macro experience and this video was so well done and your images were lovely and it made me want to go shoot flowers again. You do great work and I love your channel - please keep it up and I’m certain your viewership will continue to grow!
Great video Ben, really enjoyed it. I enjoy wildflower photography and bluebells are so beautiful. I’d forgotten they are protected. I’ve got 2 or 3 places close to where I live that are covered with bluebells every spring
Ben you really have edited this vlog to perfection. The timings were just so perfect. That defocusing of the bluebell before you cut away. Just brilliant. The min focus depth for that lens is reported as 93-98 cm but users have reported it working as close as 80. Turning to the dark side of landscape photography is a slippery slope lol. Flower photography is just brilliant. But this guy Adam Gibbs has a great channel and he used to be a flower/garden photographer for magazines and has switched to landscapes as well over the last 20 years. But he prefers intimate forest tree compositions. And he really breaks the scene down. You really have a fantastic style Ben and looking forward to more. Thank you for sharing.
Adam thank you so much for watching but also thank you for picking up on the smaller details that take me lots of time and effort haha I didnt think anyone would notice so it was nice to recieve a comment like yours. Thanks for the info I will have a look at his channel, maybehe will persuade me to do more landscape photography. I am happy you enjoy my style, thanks for your awesome comments. All the best, Ben.
Normally go to Groveley Wood near Salisbury, but they are over now unfortunately, great to be out though nice one Ben. The 100-400 is extremely versatile if not a true macro
Some lovely images in there Ben with great bokeh. You are quite right to back off and zoom in as it does give the shallow DOF which can make or break a "macro" shot. 👍😎👍
OK- I just watched your video on the Cuckoo and had to come see what the fuss was about with this one. Sorry but all I saw was a very well thought out and executed video. I even learned a bit about the bluebells. I have the 1st generation of the 100-200mm and still love it especially with bird & wildlife photography. Anyway keep up the great work, love your style and find them inspirational. I also really like that your videos are eclectic and not set into one style of photography. BTW, you've just earned another subscriber.
Hi Randy, thank you so much for your commeny. I am glad that you enjoyed my bluebell video after all the fuss haha. I am also very happy to hear that you find my content inspirational. Thank you so much for the subscription .All the best, Ben.
Excellent channel. Thank you very much for sharing. You have a new subscriber in Buenos Aires. Best regards.
Nice drone footage 👍

I feel you Ben we have missed so much this year! Good info in the video I didn't realise the Bluebells were protected!
yeah man this year has almost been a complete right off, although I refuse to let that happen. thanks for watching mate.

Amazing shoot of Bluebells Ben! It makes a lot of sense to Zoom in on the flowers, not thought of that as macro before, thanks for sharing. - Stewart.
Hi Stewart, yeah the 100-400 is great for macro if its the only lens you have it can be very versitile. Thanks for watching. All the best, Ben.
So pretty!
Thanks again for watching.
Great video Ben, really enjoyed it.

Hi Richard, that is great to hear, maybe next spring you could get some of your own photos of the bluebells, if you havn't already that is.

ohh I will have to look that one up. I think the lens is a great all rounder. Thanks for watching. All the best, Ben.

Hey Ben I think you are doing an amazing job. What type of tripod are you using as I have the same exact set up, camera and lens wise as you.
