Great main game, great season for Chelsea. Laughably, I fancied I might be the next Jimmy Robertson, who I admired enormously. I was seven, and not yet aware how bad I was at football. Anyway, my lot got owned this day. Thanks for sharing these wonderful shows; if The Arsenal were on, we'd be allowed to have lunch on our laps in front of the telly. Very happy days.
Did they not show replays of goals in those days, or is this a print with the goal replays removed? Bit different from today with what seems like a million replays of every goal.
@@johnhines1110Indeed. Repeating, slowing down and pausing video in those days was not easy. You couldn't do it with videotape, a special hard disk machine had to be used which only had a 90 second memory.
Love how you uncover these gems.
Its been alot of hard work and many hours recording too!!
RIP John Hollins Arsenal and Chelsea legend. 2:03

How cool did Alan Birchinall looked in 69 with his white polo neck sweater!
Could've been a proper James bond person.
It is appalling that much of ATV's Star Soccer archive has been lost.
The great Johnny Haynes playing in the third division!!!
Id like to see more of these on Saturday mornings instead of the 1980s, whuch i saw first time round.
When football was fun.
Chris Simpkin a great servant to Hull

No they didn't show replays early on . Only BBC and LWT had tge machines early on to show them.
